Nothing Between Us

Zaya POV

I was beyond excited to hear Audrey accept the position Godric offered her. Even if he had not offered, I know we would have been inseparable. Alex decided to walk Audrey out leaving me and Godric alone.

“What’s with him?” I asked referring to Alex. He was a little more quiet than normal. I could always rely on him to be talkative but since we left Evanders land, he has been extremely quiet and reserved.

“Don’t worry. Alex is more than fine. But how about you? Are you really okay?” He said eyeing the bruises on my neck.

“Thanks to Audrey. I am more than fine.”

“Yes. Thanks to Audrey. I’m glad we brought her home.” He said while motioning me to sit on his lap.

“Me too. But I have to know, why did you agree to bring her back with us?”

“I saw how you protected her. Even though you had no idea the bullet was just a sleeping dart. You are a good judge of character and anyone worth you saving must be more than special.”
