A Perfect Pair

Audrey POV

Sophie stumped away as Godric started the clock on her deadline to leave. I wasn’t sure why her grievance with Zaya was so deep or what their background was. But whatever was going on, Godric was sure to put an end to it.

I watched as he scooped Zaya up and carried her away. He was attentive to her bruises and asked if she was okay.

It made me happy to know my friend was finally getting the love and adoration she deserved. A throat behind me cleared and my body tensed. We were alone. Finally.

I turned to see Alex standing with his hands nervously buried in his pockets. At that very moment, he didn’t seem like a Beta. He looked more like a fearful child than a strong leader of a pack.

“You know you didn’t have to strangle her like that.” He almost whispered.

“Yes, I did. She had no right to put her hands on Zaya like that.”
