Negotiating with the Lord of Lightning

[ Seraphina's POV ]

"Can you stop talking about the ridiculous marriage nonsense?" I asked Graike.

"Nonsense?" He put his hand on his chest dramatically. "Dragons are serious about treasures and women. And when a woman is a treasure, we are laser-focused."

God help me with this one. Stay firm, Serina. I need to hold my ground without losing my temper.

"I refuse to be your wife forty-something."

"Forty-seven," he corrected me. "Would you prefer another number?"

"This is NOT about a number! You have a full harem of females down there. Why are you stuck on me?"

"Do you know that I didn't take a wife since you rode me?"

"Don't tell me you fell in love."

"Infatuated is the word," he said with a dreamy smile. "No woman compares to you, Seraphina. Aldus agrees."
