Naushad was a spinner. His balls were falling a little behind the good length spot. He was turning the ball both sides, i.e. doing both leg spin and off spin. For leg spin, Suraj was turning towards his left, right-handed batsman as he is, opening the face of the bat, twisting the bat to be on straight line towards the desired gap, and hitting for six. For off spin, Suraj was placing his right leg in the middle of the lines of the ball and his hitting, with ankle bent towards the gap, again twisting his wrist so that the bat faces that direction, and hitting for six. Now sixes became frequent, with occasional blocks.
Naushad gave a wry smile.
Suraj was not thinking about the technicalities. He was concentrating on the ball. All his body movements were falling to place.
Naushad had an idea.
