Elena has known she was a fairy since she was thirteen thanks to her adopted dad who left Lenfairia, a parallel earth filled with magic to the earth she knows now, to protect her from the witches who killed her parents and now she’s almost seventeen and her powers have grown stronger. After catching her boyfriend kissing her best friend she gets chased by vampires who want a taste of her power. Luckily, her best friend Alexander Walker, who is her adopted dad’s biological son saves her from the vampires and has come to earth with instructions from the King, her uncle to come back home. Elena agrees. Elena goes to Eurox, a magical Europe, and she’s in awe of the magic that surrounds this world. She meets her family, who throw a welcome-back ball for her. She then goes to Hollow Prep Academy, a school for fairies and elves to coexist and learn how to use their skills to fight off the creatures of darkness. Elena meets many friends and foes, and she’s already involved in school activities. She thinks she’s safe in her school until monsters start attacking her. She learns that someone is summoning those monsters to kill her but she’s not alone because her friends do their best to stop those monsters from hurting her and anyone else. They also try to find out who is sending those monsters Elena's way. Could it be the witches who killed her parents or a new threat?
After lunch, Pierre makes his way to the dorm to get some rest. He's done enough for today and while he thinks training and school are very important, he believes resting is also important. His routine is simple, after exercising, he eats breakfast, then goes to school, then he eats lunch, comes back to his room, and rests then when he wakes he either goes to the library to read or goes to the enchanted forest to do art, which is something that calms him down.
It's what he used to calm himself down when he caught his girlfriend with another boy who wasn't him, he was heartbroken, and even though he didn't want to admit it to anyone else, he admitted to himself that Anastasia broke his heart.
But his heart is healing, and that's because of Elena. Elena is nothing like Anastasia but Elena is Anastasia before Anastasia changed. At the same time, Elena's character is way better. She's calm, nice, poised, very poised and he admires how she sticks up for herself all the time.
He hasn't stopped thinking about her face since he saw her, her rosy cheeks, her heart-shaped face, her long gold hair, her smile, that damn smile and those ocean blue eyes of hers he might just sink in.
He walks to the dorms with a smile on his face. When people say hi to him he usually responds cheerfully, even if he's having a bad day, but this time it's different, his replies are extra, extra cheerful and people suspect that maybe someone has stolen his heart, they're going to ask him what has gotten him to be so happy and cheerful.
He gets into his room. "Oh, Carlos you won't believe the day I've had," he says to his roommate closing the door.
"Really? Tell me all about it." He freezes because that is not the sound of his roommate's voice, that's the sound of a girl, a girl who likes to look for trouble, a girl he has succeeded in trying to avoid, a girl he once had feelings for in the past.
Pierre stops facing the door and he turns around to face her. Anastasia is on his bed, crossed leg and leaned back against it. She has a smile on her face, a kind of evil smile that leaves Pierre both nervous and angry.
"Anastasia," he says folding his arms. But she will not make him feel this way, she's the one who cheated on her, she should be the one being nervous, but there is no shame in sight, no ounce of regret for what she did, which is what angers him the most. "What do you want?"
Anastasia raises a brow. "What do I want?" she asks, then follows the question with a scoff. "Is that the kind of question to be asking your girlfriend?"
"Ex-girlfriend." he corrects her. "Or did you forget the part when I caught you in bed with Henry and I broke up with you?"
Anastasia's smile disappears and she has a sad expression on her face, at first it almost hits Pierre, he thinks maybe she regrets what she did. But she knows how manipulative Anastasia can be. So he stands his ground, he still has a scowl on his face, and his arms are still folded.
Anastasia stands up from the bed and walks toward Pierre, they're face to face now. Her icy blue eyes look straight at him. He has not forgotten how he fell in love with those eyes when they were both fourteen, it's the one thing that captures her beauty. That and how much of an elegant and amazing dancer she is. He's been to her shows and has supported her, he has never missed one.
He looks away from those eyes. He can still feel her gaze and her cold icy breath brush against his skin.
"Pierre, I don't know what I was thinking," she says. "No, I wasn't thinking. Because this is Henry, it was just a fuck, you know Henry doesn't do the love thing and the only thing he likes is sex, that idiot has been having sex since he was twelve."
Pierre wishes that she wasn't right, but she is. Henry has been addicted to sex since he was a kid and he has never formed an emotional connection with anyone. Pierre doesn't think he even knows how to form an emotional connection with anyone.
"You still shouldn't have done that with him of all people. It hurt me, Anastasia." that is the first time he's ever said out loud, that he was hurt by Anastasia, he can't believe he said that. Anastasia looks at him with shock in her eyes. Pierre looks at her squinting, not believing what he's seeing.
The way she looks at him, she looks like the old Anastasia. Is she back or is it one of her manipulative tactics?
"I didn't- I didn't mean to hurt you, like I said, I don't know what I was thinking," she says and she sounds like she's about to cry and Pierre doesn't want that, he doesn't want her crying here. She's not even supposed to be here. If Mr Volkov catches her here they're both going to be in deep trouble.
"I shouldn't have done that to you, I'm sorry, I miss you, Pierre," she says and Pierre feels bad for her, but why does he feel bad for her? She's the one who hurt him. This is what he gets for having such nice parents who taught him to consider other people's feelings. Well except for creatures of darkness.
"Okay, okay Anastasia please stop crying," he says in a hushed whisper and she begins to wipe her tears with her hand. "But we can't get back together," he says and she looks at him. "Just not now, not at the moment, I'm still… a bit hurt by what happened Ana." he finds himself wiping away her tears. "Maybe when I get over it we'll see what happens. But for now, can we just stay friends?" he says hoping it'll be able to convince her she stop crying and just leave so that they don't get caught.
Mr Volkov shows no mercy when it comes to punishments.
She nods and Pierre lets out an internal sigh of relief. "Okay, fine. But I want you to know that I'm sorry Pierre," she says and Pierre nods his head.
"I know."
Anastasia smiles now. "You are so handsome," she says putting her hand on his bony cheeks, and Pierre puts a small smile on his face. Anastasia walks away heading toward the door. She gives Pierre one last look with an innocent smile. "I've missed you," she says and Pierre just stands there, he can't bring himself to say that he missed her too because that will just be a lie. He spent his summer trying to forget about her, and he almost succeeded.
As soon as she steps out Pierre lets out a sigh and falls on his bed. Is there any need to rest after what just happened, how is he going to rest now?
While everyone's going to the dorms to rest. Elena has made her way outside to the back of the school to meet Mrs Darla. She just stands looking at the trees swaying, and the leaves falling to the ground. It's peaceful and therapeutic and Elena is sure it's more peaceful and therapeutic for her because she's an earth fairy.
"I'm here," Elena says, hating to interrupt. She sure doesn't mind, and when she turns around she sees that she doesn't because there's a smile on her face.
"Nice of you to make it."
"Of course," Elena says, she won't miss learning how to use her powers the right way for anything. "So where do we begin? Do you teach me how to set my hands in a way so I blast monsters correctly?"
Her teacher giggles and then sits on the floor with her legs crossed. She pats the space beside her.
"Come meditate with me." at first Elena is confused but then she thinks maybe it's a number one process on how to use her powers for the correct reasons. So she gladly sits next to her, crossing her legs and closing her eyes.
"Try to remove everything from your mind and listen to nature, the swaying of trees, the songs of the birds, everything nature has to offer."
Elena breathes in and out and begins to listen to nature. She thinks this is going to be fun.
