Chapter Thirty

"Wait, you guys meditated for an hour?" Alex asks Elena laughing. They've both had dinner and decided to head to the library to study but they end up talking about their day instead and how underwhelming the one class she had with Mrs Darla was.

Elena rolls her eyes and folds her arms at Alex's silent laughter. She doesn't think it's funny and that's what she tells him.

"It's not funny, Alex," she says. Alex stops

"I'm not laughing at the lesson you guys had, I'm laughing at you, you are pissed because what? Meditation is part of the process, you think she's going to be forcing you to meditate throughout the lesson."

"You think so."

"Of course not Elena. This is the same thing the other fairies did when they started, you've got to be patient,"he says and then he continues to laugh but then he closes his mouth so he's not too loud when he's laughing. They are in a library after all.

"It's not that funny," Elena says holding a scowl on her face.

"Okay, sorry. I'll stop," he clears his throat. "change of topic. You and Pierre had art class together, how was it?" Alex waggles his eyebrows and Elena tries hard not to blush but she fails woefully, she leans over her textbook.

"There's nothing to talk about," she says.

"Nothing to talk about? That's bonkers, Elena who are you trying to fool?" Alex says smirking. He knows his best friend so well, and he knows it is itching her to talk about Pierre.

"Okay, fine," she says and Alex laughs because he knew it. "As if him being fine as fuck wasn't enough, he had to be talented as well?" she shakes her head in awe.

"You saw his art."

"Yes, it's amazing, amazing, just like him." she sighs, her head on her table looking at the books behind Alex but she's not looking at the books simply because she wants to read them or find them fascinating, she's not paying attention to the books at all, she's daydreaming about Pierre, thinking about his lips, his face, his buzz cut, his biceps, everything.

"You should tell him how you feel, I'm sure he feels the same way." Elena stops daydreaming when Alex's words hit her back to reality.

"What? I can't do that, I'm sure he's still not over his ex. Either that or he's still recovering from what his ex did to him."

"All this because of Anastasia, heck no. You guys should bolden up and ask each other out already, I ship you two."

Elena gives him a curious look. "I never thought I would hear you say 'ship' ever?" Alex waves her off.

"Whatever," he says.

"Uh…" Elena looks around her first then leans closer to Alex. "What about you?"

Alex gives her a questioning look. "What about me?"

"You know, who do you like, who do you fancy? I'm sure there has to be someone."

"Nope, I'm all focused on my studies, no time for all that." Elena just looks at him as he flips through pages of his textbook. This is what he's been saying since and Elena is getting tired of it, she thinks he deserves love, a companion. She's sure there are a lot of gay guys at this school.

She knows the next question she's going to ask she'll regretbut she has to because she's beyond curious.

"What's going on between you and Henry?" She asks and Alex gives her a look that suggests that she's crazy.

"Me and Henry? Are you nuts? Nothing, what makes you think that?"

"I don't know I just picked up a vibe that you and him dated in the past," Elena says, shrugging and Alex scoffs at the idea of him and Henry Baron-Grant dating.

"Henry doesn't date, he only plays with people and the only vibe you picked up is him wanting to have sex with me so he goes about telling the whole school that he had sex with Alexander Walker. Your cousin is a lunatic, no offence."

Elena waves him off because she has noticed how much of a lunatic he really is. "That's fine, sorry I asked."

"Nope, don't apologize, you just wanted to know,"he says and continues with his reading. Elena does the same as welland she wishes she didn't ask that question. Not that she wants Henry and Alex to be together or anything. She already knows that he's a player. Sothat's out of the question. She admires Alex for being smart though.

She buries her head in her book and continues to read, she guesses their conversation is over and it's back to business. She has so much to do anyway.

She picked up a history book and opened a page on how witches became enemy number one, the topic is serious andshe's already engrossed by it, but then she hears something strange, a growling of some sort.

She looks up at Alex and Alex looks at her confused.

"You heard that too?" she asks him and he nods. Next thing there's a scream then two screams and everyone's screaming. Alex rises to his feet in action, Elena does so but in fear next thing they know the bookshelves and chairs are flying in the air, and they hear a heavy thump thump thump.

They brace themselves for what it could be. Then the monster reveals itself. It roars and Elena swallows out of fear.

"A Minotaur?" Alex says. "it can't be." but it is, so the Minotaur is right in front of them, a half man half bull with an axe in his right hand. His focus is on Elena. He wants to kill Elena. But Alex isn't going to be letting that happen.

He brings out his pen presses the button and it turns into a golden sword, he charges toward the Minotaur and the Minotaur slaps Alex until he crashes onto the bookshelves.

"Alex!" Elena cries out to her friend. But when she sees she has no protection, she stumbles backwards, she throws books his way but he keeps slicing them with his axe. "LEAVE ME ALONE!" she yells. He raises his axe and charges toward Elena, she screams and dodges it. She gets up and she tries to run but she trips. She's at a dead end. The Minotaur has got her, and he has his axe raised.

This is how she dies now, she is sure of it. All this while she thought she was going to be killed by a witch she ends up getting killed by a large beast instead.

She braces herself andshe prays to the Gods to help her at the same time. She closes her eyes and looks away waiting for something to happen, anything but then the Minotaur roars. Elena opens her eyes to see what is happening and she sees a gold rope around him, he struggles to set himself free. She tries to look at who is taking the Minotaur down andit's Pierre.

"Oh," she says. "Fuck." She stares at the hot way Pierre pulls the rope that holds the beast, his muscles flex as he moves backwards, the veins on his hand and his head.

Elena cannot believe herself, she's in danger and she feels horny.

"Alex now!" he yells and Alex comes out of nowhere and stabs the beast with his sword. The beast roars loudly and it feels like an earthquake. Then the beast is destroyed turning into dust. Alex falls backwards out of frustration, his head is injured but he doesn't mind as his best friend is okay.

Pierre runs toward Elena. "Elena, are you okay?" Pierre asks helping her up. She looks him in the eyes with a smile on her face but she's still shaking.

"Yes, she says. Thank you." they stare at each other for a long period. Until they're interrupted by wailing.

"Oh, no!" the person cries. They turn to see poor Miss Edwina is hurt by the way her precious library has been destroyed.

Elena now feels so bad for her, she doesn't deserve this, and she thinks it's her fault. And now she thinks that Garfield was right, he didn't leave the barrier down so what could be attracting these monsters to her?
