Ilirielth and Iliriendil got back to the surface, there was no sign of goblins or sign of any creatures. The area they have been before was now just a vast empty land. Smoke rose from everywhere and the ground turned black, covered with a layer of charcoal.
" To evaporate the whole place, that guy must have been really desperate huh?"
Said a husky voice from the third person in their group, the female giant.
" Where should we go now?"
" Northwest, just follow me, I know the shortcut, and pfftt you don't need to do that, I'll follow your pace."
" No, we're fine."
Ilirielth was carrying Iliriendil on her back with a serious look. The image of a slender girl carrying a 2m creature on her back must look a bit weird but after their discussion, this was the most effective way since Iliriendil's physical condition was too low compared to these two. Although looking like this, to Ilirielth, Iliriendil's weight was just equal to a feather, there was no hindrance to her movement. Besides, she was convinced that sooner or later the creature before her would lay its hand on Iliriendil, she could not let him out of her reach.
" You should have noticed by now, 303. Every creature in this place is aiming for your head. The reason is simple, there's a big bounty on it."
" Let me guess, the one who killed me will be free?"
" That's correct, anything that can kill you will be free from this eternal prison."
Both of them took a step back from the avatar when it said that but the avatar didn't make any movement, it just looked at them, smiling mockingly.
" Isn't it a little late to worry about me? I had my chance you know?"
" Why?"
" Let's just say that this's not the first time things like this happened. I've been playing Lilith's games for so long that I got tired of it."
While the avatar seemed to recall a bitter memory, the ground was shaking and an earsplitting sound came from its main body.
" Sorry about that. Anyway, I can understand why you don't trust me, that's exactly how I feel about that woman's word. Hence I offered you a better thing than trust, a contract for both sides' benefit."
Mana gathered and a text box appeared within Ilirielth's system. She had heard about this spell was a famous spell that was widely used in the old times until it was strictly prohibited by the goddess Sarila as this spell was taken advantage of for bad purposes. Nowadays users of this spell could be sentenced to death, no one dared to use it except for notorious criminals, slave traders, and cultists which were already death crimes by default.
" Subject 105 wanted to make a contract with you. A contract was created between the two parties.
Party A: Test subject 105
Party B: Test subject 303, and you
Party A's responsibility: Provide guidance and assistance for party B while they are inside the land of the forgotten:
- Provide path guidance.
- Assist party B in battles if needed.
Party B's responsibility: Bring party A out of the land of the forgotten
Party A breach:
- If party A causes harm to party B in any form physical, mental, or soul except for defense. The punishment is death.
- If party A doesn't fulfill or tries to avoid his responsibility, the punishment is death.
- Party B die.
Party B breach:
- If party B causes harm to party A in any form physical, mental, or soul except for defense. The punishment is death.
- If party B doesn't fulfill their repository after escaping the dungeon, the punishment is death. The exception's that party A is already dead inside the land of the forgotten.
I have read and agreed with the terms and conditions (tick box)
Accept the contract: Yes / No "
No matter how strong a being was, nothing can resist a contract. In the past, a demon king even died because of a contract violation. At a glance, the contract looked very reasonable, even a bit too favorable for them. The titan had to keep them alive or it would die too while they would receive no punishment if the titan die in the process. But it was also the thing that made this contract feel off. Did this thing so confidence that it could lead them out of here alive? One thing for sure they did need a guide. Another thing was that although Ilirielth hated to admit she lack the ability to protect Iliriendil. A strong ally like this was not a bad idea.
" I'm sure that you've already realized how enormous this place could be. If you don't have a guide. It might take dozens of years before you could feel its shapes. Those number was nothing for us immortals but this little human here, she doesn't have that much time doesn't she?"
The avatar pointed at Ilirielth's mutated legs. She had been peeling off those mutated organs on her legs but they kept growing back, not only that, although slow, it started to spread up to her belly.
" I'll accept it with one condition. That is to get her name out of the punishments."
" No Iliriendil, what are you talking about?"
" That was pretty unfair of you 303, we're all put our lives on the line here and you wanted me to have such a disadvantage?"
" That's two lives against one, you're the one who talked nonsense from the start."
The avatar stayed silent for a while, it stared at Ilirielth and then chuckled.
" Very well I will change the term. Only you 303 will take the responsibility. I couldn't understand how could you trust a human this much. Interesting, very interesting."
" I've already signed my part. It's your turn Ilirielth."
" No! Why did you do that? Who told you to decide things for me? I won't accept this thing!"
Ilirielth shouted angrily. She couldn't understand why she cared so much for a person she just met a few months, she just couldn't help it. Although saying to herself that he was just one of her good friends but she realized for a while that Iliriendil was much more than that. He was someone she could not afford to lose.
Iliriendil kneeled on his leg as he took her hand. He had no eyes but she could tell that he was looking at her affectionally.
" I won't die, trust me, I'll never die. And we'll get out of this place together, and after that…"
He whispered something into her ears that made her face turn into a tomato.
" It… made no sense."
Iliriendil moved her hand, he was much weaker than her but somehow she couldn't muster the strength to resist him. Just like that, he moved her finger to the screen, to the accept button.
" So one question, how the hell will us get you out? You know, you're kind off…"
" Idiot! Now you asked that after we both accepted the contract!"
Iliriendil scratched his head.
" I'm just kind of forgot but didn't you too—"
" No! This has nothing to do with me! You're the one who tricked me to— Aghhhh! "
" Such nostalgic"
Looking at the couple's quarrel, the avatar let out a warm smile. He then threw something at Ilirielth.
" This…"
" You don't have to carry the whole me. I have no intention of bringing this corrupted body of mine out of here either. Just that part was enough. I could also lend it to you temporarily. Also, as you can see, I can't leave this place so I'll have someone be your guide instead. She's a part of me so it also counted. Don't worry about her ability, I updated her."
Something dropped from the titan body. It had a feminine figure, it was smaller than before but although her level went up to 200 she couldn't read this thing level anymore.
" Although there was some misunderstanding in our past. I hope we can take care of each other from now on."
The female giant smiled and speak in human language.
" Misunderstanding? You almost killed us!"
" I have to admit that it was not a complete misunderstanding. But imagine this, if killing me get both of you out of this place. will you do it?"
" Of course I —"
" I just go with the flow but if I really intended to kill the great one, you would never have any chance to save him."
" It's ok Ilirielth, it won't happen again."
Ilirielth bit her lips. She was sure that this disgusting female giant would surely try to harm them. She needed to get stronger, much stronger so that she could protect Iliriendil from this disgusting ugly thing.
Current time, at the monitor room.
" Cronleyyyy! I'm backkkkk! What did I miss?"
Cronley frowned who had dark circles under his eyes due to the lack of sleep frowned at Liliana. If she was one of his minions he would have turned her into a lab rat a long time ago.
" The part where I have to use half of a year's resource to clean up the mess you made or the part where the most precious subject almost died?"
" So he's still alive? That's great news. What about the princess?"
Liliana said nonchalantly took Cronley's coffee and drank it all again leaving the guy staring blanky at his just-made precious coffee.
" She lived."
" Oh"
Unlike when heard about Iliriendil, she seemed disappointed.
" That's kind of sad but it couldn't be helped. Wait, why there's a blue one with them now?"
" It seems that they made contacted with 105."
Liliana was dumbfounded, she typed something on a laptop and searched on the long list of names.
" 105… 105 ah.. that thing. I almost forgot its existence. It's still here?"
" At least remember one of the most uncontrollable subjects of our lab your highness." - Cronley sighed.
" Yeah yeah so what's their little plan?"
" My signal was cut off when they got in contact with 105 so I have no idea. What're we gonna do with this? Should I exterminate 105 before it causes something? "
" It's ok. pay no heed to it. After all, what could a broken toy do?"
