Instinct Overrules Logic

After a quick stop at the campus' cafeteria, Joe made his way back to his dorm room. Grabbing a fresh uniform, he made his way to the communal showers. About an hour had passed since he had left the training field before he was leaving the dorms once again. Following the directions on his wrist, he now stood before a wood door with a hanging sign that read 'Instructor Summers'.

With slight hesitation, Joe lightly knocked on the door and awaited a response from inside. 'Enter' was all that was muttered, and it came off as an order not an option. Hearing the door close behind him, Joe stood awkwardly just inside. Looking around the room, he notices several shelfs overflowing with books scattered all around the walls. Titles ranging from 'Tactical Subversion' to 'How to Lead' filled them while showing much use. Pages were visibly dimmed from their original white shine while spines were beginning to crack from repeated opening and closing.

Two small couches sat on either side of a short table. Place on one side were two empty cups and a dish of cubed sugars. Opposite from him was a messy, Oak desk with a single reading light. Behind it sat Instructor Summers who seemed to be deep in thought as she combed through a variety of papers. Seeming to notice the silence, she lifted her head from the files and stared at Joe with an emotionless face.

"Take a seat. I'm almost done with these. Coffee?"

"Coffee would be nice. Focus on your work and I'll make a pot."

Moving passed the couches, Joe found himself standing just to the left of her. On a small counter behind the desk was a hot plate and pot filled with water. Setting it to brew the coffee, Joe patiently waited. Just as the water finished brewing, he flicked off the hot plate and moved back to the couch. Pouring two cups, he looked back at the focused girl behind the desk.

"Sugar?"

"I just finished but no thank you. I'm not big on sweets."

With that said, Instructor Summers stood up and made her way to the couch. Taking the seat closest to her desk, she seemed to be entirely calm. That was until she reached for the cup in front of her. With a shaking hand, her mind was moving rapidly. For the last hour she had been so engrossed in her work that the weight of her agreement had yet to fully set in.

Noticing the hidden nervousness, Joe intercepted her hand moments before it reached the cup. Grabbing her attention, he simply smiled. A small gesture that near instantaneously calmed her nerves.

"As much as I want to grow stronger, I am in no rush. We don't have to begin today if it's too sudden. At any point you wish to stop, I will respect your decision ma'am."

Feeling a sense of ease sinking into her body, Instructor Summers let took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. With determination, she met his eyes.

"I'm fine now, thank you. We can begin once you're ready. Oh! You can drop the formalities in this room. It's weird. Just call me Shianne when we're alone like this."

After the last words left her lips, she became slightly fidgety. Not even a full day had passed, and she was feeling entirely comfortable around the man sat beside her. In her entire nineteen years of life, she failed to remember another instance where she felt so comfortable aside from with her late parents.

"Well then, Shianne, let's begin."

Before the words had fully registered in her mind, a gentle hand turned her face, and a light pressure could be felt on her lips. She had been hung up on the fact her name was said so endearingly and now, her mind was blank. Seconds turned into a full minute before they separated. After a brief pause, the roles reversed. Pulling his head down to hers, Shianne abruptly sieged his lips against her own.

After the initial pressure sank in, she found herself unwilling to a specific part from the sensation. Electricity coursed through her body and dumbed every one of her senses. All she felt was the warmth of the man in front of her. The smell of the fresh coffee long left her as she noticed the slightly masculine smell permeating from Joe's hair. She quickly became drunk on these senses.

After what seemed like minutes, she began to turn the simple kiss into something with passion she was unaware she possessed. Her lips began instinctively moving on their own. Her arm began to circle its way around his neck and her body slightly lifted itself off the couch. A large hand could be felt on the small of her back, pulling her body even closer to the warmth.

Before either of them could register what was happening, their bodies entwined. Their chests pressed against each other leaving no room for even air to move. With one arm entirely around her waist and his other hand gently seated on her thigh, Joe had slightly lifted her off the couch. He no longer had to bend his head down to reach hers. her left arm encircled his neck while her free hand clamped onto his shoulder.

After several minutes, the two finally separated their lips and began breathing in the hot air between them. With their foreheads touching neither muttered a single word. Both had become fully intoxicated with the other. The temperature around them had physically risen. After some time had passed, and they had their breathing under control, Shianne managed to mutter a single word the reaped with her desires in that moment.

"More."
