Chapter 13: I choose you!

"Woof! Woof! (Wow! You are here! I finally have a system!)." Ning barked happily, an exhilarated expression on her puppy face.

But fearful of attracting zombies over, Ning quickly quieted down.

She thought for some time then asked in her mind, 'Hey system, by the way, why did I hear two different voices just now? It sounds kinda cold...'

"That wasn't me, host. It was the voice of this world."

'Oh? Then what is the player thing then?'

"I don't know, but I speculate that it's a way for the inhabitants of this world to gain power by leveling up. The Mana crystal you just consumed is the condition for one to be awakened and become a player.

"At the moment, the knowledge of the system's limited. Perhaps you might be able to unlock more in the near future. But overall, the purpose of me, in other words, the Little Dog Supporting System, is to help you in your journey."

'Oh? Helping me in my journey to become the mightiest?' Ning brushed it off her mind.

She already has some idea about the so-called "player." Fortunately, she has read many novels, and this stuff is not foreign to her.

Ning also guessed that after the apocalypse begins, people become players by consuming an F grade Mana Crystal just like before. But that doesn't mean any dog could also become a player, maybe a mutated animal.

She wasn't sure.

Ning took a look at the three options present on a separate screen that she assumed to belong to the system, Eggie.

'Hm...' Ning thought for a while, glancing over the three choices.

Since she could only choose one as it's free, she eventually decided on the Fireball skill.

Not only was it feel like the best choice for her current situation, but moreover, who wouldn't like to use magic?

A faint red light encased Ning's tiny body briefly. When it faded, a cold voice sounded as her player status changed accordingly.
