had found the list of her interns taped to her cubby, a giddy smile falling on her lips. She tore it off, reading through the list.

She quickly pulled on her lab coat, dancing around the slightly crowded halls to the nurses station outside of the interns locker room. She looked at it with a bit of sadness, missing the comfort and schedule she had as a first year. But she wasn't sad, of course. Because she was finally a Resident.

Clusters of interns walked out in search of their residents, a small group heading towards her. They all looked slightly nervous, too afraid to speak up.

Eleanora straightened up, her eyes bright and smile big. "Welcome to Seattle Grace!" She grabbed the pagers and binders of protocols and passed them out, going straight into the spiel she would work.

"I have five rules. Please memorize them. Rule number one, don't bother sucking up. I don't hate you, but I sure as hell don't trust you. You're first years, you're bound to make mistakes and as your resident, I'm the one who has to yell at you afterwards."

Eleanora started down the hall, her interns following after her like little ducklings. "The things I handed you were your pagers, trauma protocol, and phone lists. Keep the binder in your locker just in case, but I expect you to know every single word in them by your next shift. Which leads me to Rule Two, nurses will be the ones to page you. You answer every page at a run, a walk or jog."

She threw open the door of an empty on call room, letting her interns take a look. "Your first shift started," she glanced at the watch on her wrist, "three minutes ago. It lasts a total of 48 hours. You all are interns, making you the grunts, nobodies, bottom of the surgical food chain. Sucks, but it's how it goes."

"These are on call rooms, Attending's hog them, so sleep where you can when you can. Rule three, if I'm sleeping? Don't wake me up. If you wake me up, you better make sure it's because your patient is actually dying."

Eleanora pushes out of the on call room and heads towards the stairs. She stood just below her interns, turning to look at them. "Rule four, the dying patient better not be dead when I get there. Dead patients mean yelling and paperwork, I don't like doing either."

She took a relieved breath once she finished, looking up at her interns with pride in her eyes and a smile on her lips. One of them slowly raised their hand, his voice confused.

"That was only four?"

Eleanora nodded, grabbing her pager with confidence. "Rule Five, when I move, you move."

The pager stayed silent, Eleanora feeling embarrassed and shrinking with every passing second. After she sat there and watched her interns stare at her with confused expressions, she sighed, waving them off.

"Go to the front lobby. I'll be there soon."

They quickly left, and Eleanora relaxed, leaning on the stair railing. She let out a huff, staring down at her pager, offended.

"You couldn't of helped me out there?"

had her head in Merediths lap and her legs thrown across Cristina's, all of the new second year residents hiding out in the tunnel.

"I hate them." Cristina started, and Eleanora sighed.

"You don't hate them. You hate you." Meredith pointed out, playing with Eleanora's hair.

"I think mine believe that I'm an idiot." Eleanora mumbled, Cristina snorting.

"That was hideous, I feel like a fraud." Izzie complained. Meredith didn't look over, focusing on the braid she was putting Eleanora's hair in.

"You're a bitch, not a fraud."

Eleanora smacked at Meredith's leg, her friend hissing our in pain. "Language."

"I rocked it. I think I'm the new nazi." Alex proudly stated. Cristina scoffed, giving him a side glare.

"Oh, are not the new Nazi."

Footsteps drew all of their attention, Eleanora raising her head to look and see who it was. When her eyes landed on George, she let out an excited yell, catapulting off of her two friends and into George's arms.

"Georgie! Oh my god, it's great to see you." She squealed, George hugging her back. She pulled away and smiled up at him, his smile small as he greeted her.

Eleanora had gone back to New York over the vacation period, staying with her parents. The last four days were full of wedding festivities, Enzo and his then-fiancé-now-wife Jenna had finally decided to tie the knot and left the Amedeo family scrambling to plan.

Since she was in New York, she didn't get to spend time with her friends once they all got back from their respective vacations. Of course, she still called and texted, calling Cristina to make sure she was okay, texting Meredith to make sure Cristina wasn't lying being okay, and calling and texting Mark throughout the day just because.

"Um, Meredith...I-I really need to talk to you." George said, looking over Eleanora's shoulder. Before Meredith could ask what was wrong, a group of the new interns entered the tunnel, all excitedly conversing.

When they noticed the residents and George, they all walked over, getting ready to sit and talk. Eleanora bit the inside of her cheek and leaned on the gurney, looking over at her friends.

"Hey, um, this is for residents only. No interns." Cristina said, her voice holding a mocking tone to it as she looked at the group as though they were stupid.

The interns gave offended looks, slowly shuffling away. George cleared his throat, shaking his head as he followed behind them.

"I guess I should be going too, then."

Eleanora frowned, reaching out to grab his arm. "George, wait-" however, George shrugged her off, looking down as he continued on.
