Chapter Thirty: Bye Bye Monsters pt.2

Poppy tried distracting her worried mind by helping everyone. Massages here in there. Passing out food and drinks. She knew going outside would only make things worse but her mind had never felt so chaotic before. 'Should I freeze my mind? Or I could just sleep to pass the time!"

The last option seemed the least violent of the two so she decided on that. Poppy walked over to the pillow rack and was testing out the fluffiness of each pillow when someone walked over to her. The room was poorly lit with low fluorescent lights. Despite this she could clearly make out the blood red hair of the person in front of her. "Excuse me?" He called. He was dressed a bit...

He was wearing a butler uniform. Poppy thought the man looked very familiar but just assumed it was because she had seen his face around the manor. "Hi! What can I do for you..."

"Erin?"

His eyes were glowing bright re... brown.

"Um. Sorry to interrupt you, your highness but I really have to go to the bathroom and there isn't a bathroom in the basement.

Poppy's smile sank. 'Ah! The fatal flaw of this basement! The bathroom! Not even a bucket to use!' Poppy internally turmoiled over the situation.

The young boy squirmed uncomfortably. She sighed. 'Well I can't just let him pee himself.' "Okay, but I have to come with you just to make sure you come back safely." The boy smiled brightly. "Of course!"

Poppy locked the door to the basement behind them and turned to the boy. "Okay let's make this quick. If Loki learns I left the basement he is going to kill me!" Poppy looked up and stopped. He was looking down at her with a evil grin. His glowing brown eyes peered at her sinisterly. "Yes. Let's make this quick." The world went brown and then she was unconscious.

It was as they suspected. The higher they went the stronger the monsters. Some soldiers even had to go back to the ground to rest. Gregory and Loki were the only men unbothered. "You're looking a little pale there Loki. Don't tell me you're going to give up now, are you?" Gregory teased. Loki cut the head off a flying lizard man and turned to Gregory. Fear filled his face. "Something is wrong."

Gregory knew what this meant. He had fought with Loki long enough to know that Loki's senses were never wrong. Sometimes he would even be able to predict the weather if he felt the wind blow a certain way. "Let's speed this up then," Gregory's smile faded his eyes slowing shinned a neon purple. He wasn't playing games anymore.

He traced his hand on his sword. "Holy Sword.'" The Light family was a long line of holy knights. They were so strong for many reasons but their ingenious ability to turn any sword into a holy sword put them a step ahead of the ranks. It only lasts for an hour, and the times it can be cast depends on the strength of the caster. For Gregory, he could cast this spell five times in a day before burning out.

Loki hung back behind Gregory. The light that pierced the sky told the other soldiers to hang back as well. Gregory sliced a slow horizontal line in the air. Like popcorn all the monsters before them exploded into white dust. "I think you are scarier than any monster." Loki faked a shiver. Gregory snickered, "thanks!"
