The room Cross led her into was magnificent, her eyes widened in amazement at how beautiful it looked. The windows were huge with bright light and natural air danced around her like she was in some beach house or an island. There was plenty of space that the room could take almost the same number of girls in her room in the Siren Home.

She stood at the door frozen as she sank in all of the room's beauty. It was truly enchanting. If her situation were different she would have been excited.

"This is yours for now!" She heard Cross' mesmerising voice behind her. It made all the hairs on her body stand up and she had to move far away from him because of how much he affected her.

"What do you mean by 'for now?" She asked but he only gave her a short look and said nothing more. She just couldn't understand why he would never say more than five words to her.

"You really want to keep me here, don't you? I'm still trying to figure out why you've chosen this arrangement. If you're not like the others who just want my body, then why am I staying here?"

"Who said I'm not?" He replied, his gaze trailing down her slender figure, causing her to catch her breath. She was apprehensive about being in a stranger's home, but it didn't compare to the fear she felt around Marc or the old man. There was something about Cross that made her believe he wouldn't harm her as he had claimed.

"But... why aren't you acting like the others? Why aren't you trying to intimidate me or..."

He shrugged, offering no clear answer. She observed him for a moment. Despite his wealth, evident in his black polo and trousers, there was a hint of sadness and something more profound in his eyes. Before she could delve into that, he fixed her with a stern gaze that made her swallow hard and shift her attention elsewhere.

"I will leave you to it… you don't worry about cleaning or any other thing. Soon the cleaners and helps will be here to help with anything you need"

That was the longest sentence he had ever uttered to her, and as soon as he finished, he briskly walked out the door. Meredith let out a sigh of relief because she had momentarily been captivated by him. She cursed herself and gazed out of the window. This was not the time for attraction; she was a prisoner here, unsure of Cross's intentions. At least with Marc and the older man, she knew what they wanted, but Cross was hard to read.

She stretched out on the clean and sturdy bed, her thoughts drifting back to her home. They must be searching for her by now, while she was living a life of luxury here. No, she had to find a way to escape from this place..

After taking her bath, she wore a clean, skimpy flowery gown which exposed a huge part of her boobs and laps. There was nothing decent to find in her bag. She had searched countless times and found nothing. And she knew how risky it was dressing seductively around strange guys. She would be indirectly telling them she is ready to give her body to them. And she wasn't!

In fact, she was leaving right at that moment! She moved cautiously toward the door, checking to see if the hallway was empty, and thankfully, there wasn't a soul in sight. Even though she was unfamiliar with the layout of the house, she was determined to find a way out.

Taking deep breaths, she resolved to put as much distance as possible between herself and Cross and The Siren Home. The thought of the tracker never crossed her mind as she plotted her escape.

She opened the door to make her break, only to find a tall, handsome man standing right there. His gaze initially lingered on her alluring figure, but he eventually shifted his eyes to meet her face.

"Well, it's time for breakfast. I wanted to inform you myself. Well, where else are you off to?"

"Nowhere else, I was on my way to the dinning room." She said nervously

"Really?"

"Yes"

"It would be in your best interest if you do not try to escape from me. Do you understand?" He stated, wearing a very mean look.

"Do you understand me? Leaving here is subjecting yourself to a worse fate. Think of me as your protector. I promised to keep you safe. Didn't I? And I will do just that. Let's go to the dining room" he said and she followed him with a pounding heart.

In the dining room, Marc was already seated sipping his hibiscus flower drink and taking a bite from his toasted bread. Her heart began to pound thunderously because she knew he hated her. The helps had already set the table but Meredith was confused about where to sit on the carefully laid out dining table.

Cross directed her on where to sit and as soon as she sat down, Marc's mouth first hung open as his eyes met her alluring figure. He followed her until she sat down close to Cross before his gaze changed to a very wicked one.

"You don't really mean this Cross! You can't be possibly be treating this…" he paused as Cross looked him in the eye, challenging him to say what he wanted to say. Meredith couldn't even touch her food out of fear.

"I mean you don't mean to keep her here and even bring her to the dining table to taunt me. She should be locked up in your room to use whenever you like and not as an important guest. Look how she's dressed… come on Cross, all you have to do with her type is enjoy them and discard them! Keeping her is insane and stupid!"

"The last time I checked, this is my house, and I have the final say on who I invite as a guest. I don't pass judgment, and her presence is perfectly fine with me."

"You can't be serious... you fath..."

"Don't utter what you're thinking. She's here to stay, and you'll have to accept it!"

"Your father won't approve of this kind of relationship or having such a person as a guest in his son's home!"

"I warned you not to bring up my father! In fact, you know what... I'm going to marry her, as soon as possible. Let's see who can stop me."

"That's insane! You can't do something as foolish as marrying a wh..."

"To marry a what? She's about to become my wife, so you better learn to show her respect!"

Marc's lips moved, but no words came out. If Cross was serious about what he said, Marc needed to come up with a plan immediately to ensure Meredith was sent back to where she came from.

Meredith was shocked by Cross's statement about marrying her, but she couldn't believe it just yet. Maybe he was simply trying to provoke his cousin. There was no way he would want to marry someone he barely knew. No way!
