Nascent Soul realm Preparation

The 100 new disciples found themselves in a state of contemplation. Although the understanding of each disciple varied, one thing stood out for them. Cultivation in the opening and foundation realms were important. Prior to joining the Sky Sword Sect, each disciple had a vague understanding of the cultivation realm. Only then did they realise that cultivation was more than just sitting down in a spot absorbing energy.

Judging from his experience, Elder Shang believed that this was enough information for today. He then asked his two assistants to begin handing out their sect robes and name plates as they were now Sky Sword Sect disciples. The two assistants also began guiding them towards the outer sect housing quarters for them to live and settle down in.

Just as Elder Shang was about to leave, knowing his assistants will do the rest, a young disciple approached Elder Shang

"Elder Shang" said the young man then head bowed.

Elder Shang looked at this new disciple with curiosity wondering what he wanted.

"Yes disciple, is everything okay?".

"Actually… there was something I wanted to ask. How did the Sect know when to accept us in regards to talent, and whether we were good enough for the Sect?".

Elder Shang pondered for a moment. He knew this topic would take awhile to explain and he already given them enough information to digest. He then looked towards the young disciple and explained briefly.

"The topic of talent is whole matter in itself so I will explain briefly to you. The other function the White Stone Aura has is to determine talent. Just because you have amassed energy in your body, doesn't necessarily mean you are talented to join the Sect. Only when talent combined with your energy can you light up stones".

"You probably noticed some other youths who placed their hands on the White Aura Stone however the Stone didn't light up. Even though I wasn't there, they probably picked up a fuss saying they did have energy in their body".

The young disciple for a moment thought about the time 2 weeks ago when he was asked to line up to press his hand on the White Aura Stone. He remembered there were quite a few youths like him that had reacted badly after placing their hand on the stone and it didn't light up.

"You are right Elder Shang. I remember seeing quite a few youths who reacted the same way as you've described".

Elder Shang then went on further to explain.

"The White Aura Stone is we use is a special one compared to the ones used outside the Sect. Only when the Stone lights up, there is talent in the individual".

"Now again, I won't go into detail however that should satisfy your curiosity. Head back to your housing quarters and settle down. There is still 3 months for you to ask questions".

The young man bowed towards Elder Shang. He understood if he wanted to understand more about talent, he would need to ask another day. Thinking about it, he was already happy as the amount of information learnt was enough to make him ponder on for quite some time. Just as he was about to leave, he heard Elder Shang call him.

"Wait, disciple" said Elder Shang hurriedly

The young disciple turned around and looked at Elder Shang wondering what he wanted

"Before you leave what's your name?".

Thinking nothing of the question that Elder Shang wanted, the young disciple replied.

"My name is Wang Li"

The two looked at each for a moment before Elder Shang dismissed Wang Li to head to the housing quarters to settle down.

After Yang Ning had said his goodbyes to the 5 sect elders, he arrived shortly after at his cave abode where he begun to prepare for the Nascent Soul Realm. Yang Ning never imagined in the last 10 years he would level up from Opening realm to Foundation realm to Core Realm within 10 years.

Originally when he arrived in the sect's agriculture fields, he was already 20 years old. He technically didn't meet the Sect's standard of recruitment when it came to age, but he was made as an exception and was taken in as the Sect masters only disciple. He never quite understood why the Sect master had taken him but knowing death was out of the picture at that time was enough to forget the ordeal. Yang Ning then focused again in preparation for advancement.

"The Nascent Soul realm will take at least a week to prepare for" Yang Ning whispered to himself

"My Cave abode has 100 high grade spirit stones. It should be enough to supplement my energy consumption when breaking through".

According to the text of the Sect, breaking through to Nascent Soul realm required huge amounts of spiritual energy to supplement the energy consumption when breaking through. When forming the core inside the body, the energy is highly compressed to form a core which in turn allows the individual to release power stronger than foundation realm cultivators.

When breaking through to Nascent Soul realm, a piece of your soul needs to be inserted into the core to develop the Nascent Soul. This will be first step, in which the individual will experience its first wave of pain. Like a chick inside an egg, the piece of soul will begin absorbing the dense energy inside the Core. From here, the individual will experience another wave of pain as the Nascent Soul beings to develop. The absorption process of the soul will continue to absorb the energy until it reaches maturity. This is why Yang Ning needed 100 high grade stones to supplement the energy consumption. If one was to break through to Nascent Soul realm without having sufficient energy reserves, the Nascent Soul will end up withering the cultivator until they died.

In the records of the Sect, there was once a Core realm cultivator outside the sect who attempted to advance to the Nascent Soul realm. According to the text, the Core realm cultivator had rushed the process and did not have sufficient energy reserves to supplement the consumption of the Nascent Soul. It is stated the cultivator began to age visibly to the naked eye until all that was left was a husk of himself.
