Barnaby stood at the modernized brown door. He hoped that this was the right place the files he found belonged to. The house seemed too fancy for them, but he didn't have room to speak. He patiently waited, glad that it stopped raining. He heard the sound of someone walking to the door and prepared himself for whoever was there. "Who are you and what is your business here?" a voice quickly called out.
The blonde raised an eyebrow, the voice sounding familiar but he couldn't put a finger on it. "I am Barnaby Brooks Jr. The reason why I am here is that I have some papers that have a return address here, but…," was cut off by the voice behind the door cursing at a cat "Hey! Stop making a mess of my paperwork!"
The male cocked his head, almost curious as to what was going on. "Hey… is everything alright in there?"
The voice called back "perfectly fine. Now continue as to why you're here and why you seem to have my papers."
He gave a sigh. "I found these papers when I was out on a walk. They were in a folder that seemed to protect them from the rain. They had an address on them and I figured I'd deliver them to their owner," he lied.
He found the papers after fighting with Twisted the night before and he was curious if this was him being able to find the true identity of the villain so he could turn them in. There were various unlocking sounds as the door opened to a small hand sticking out. Fate was hiding her face from Barnaby for two reasons, one was she didn't want others to see her and the other was her trying to hide the fact she had a cut on her cheek that belonged to the rabbit kicking her in the face the night before. "Give me the papers and go on your way. They are important for my job and it's hard to do anything if my papers like to be free from my grasp."
Barnaby stared at the hand, taking note of the large number of bracelets. "…You wouldn't happen to be Maria, would you? You seem to have the same amount of bracelets around your wrist as her…"
Maria stared at the side, trying to think of a response. She couldn't remove the bracelets due to the call watch being underneath them, but she also couldn't say she was in fact, Maria. "I'm just a really big fan of her music. She has a really nice voice and it helps me with my job," she nodded to herself behind the large door as if to believe in her lie.
Barnaby raised an eyebrow, gently setting the papers in the female's hand. "I see… Well, I am sorry if I disturbed you. I shall let you go back to your work," with that he left, leaving Fate to close the door and stare at the papers.
"These were the papers I lost last night when running away from him. Shit! I really hope he doesn't know… If he does then… I am screwed… No, I shouldn't think that way. I should think positively…," she nodded to herself and sat back down. "I need to finish my work…," she trailed off, turning her television on.
She stared at the screen, watching as they talked about how there was a blackout at the auditorium and how earlier Fire Emblem saved the day and prevented some thieves from escaping a robbery with the help of Dragon Kid and Origami Cyclone. She gave a small smile. "Good job guys," she spoke out.
She stood up and looked at one piece of paper that was more visible than the others. "Huh… I wonder if this is where the hideout is that's I've been looking for… well, it wouldn't hurt to try, would it Cheshire?" she looked at the small kitten who gave a small mew in response.
The female had punched the table and changed outfits, quickly running outside through the back door. She figured it wouldn't be obvious if she ran out that door than it would be if she ran out the front. She had decided to head towards the docks once more in hopes that she could find the hideout that she was to scout out. She didn't realize that the bunny was following her in his everyday outfit.
She sighed as she continued to wander around. "Why can't I find the place? I wonder… Maybe it might show up if I say something like Open Sesame or Hocus Pocus show me your Locus…" she joked.
Barnaby raised an eyebrow, almost confused at the females acting, but soon shook his head. He wanted to know what the female was doing, but he didn't seem to understand her joking. He wanted to know the true identity of this Twisted villain, but this would be a feat for him. He continued to follow her as she walked around the docks, but noticed she gave up and started back to her home.
The blonde crossed his arms and took note that she didn't have her cape and she had a cut across her face. He didn't think he had hit her, but after seeing her he was surprised to see that he did, especially since she was almost faster than Origami Cyclone. He continued to follow her, raising an eyebrow at her rambling. He heard words like "truth" and "how the hell" along with other nonsense things. He decided that he would leave her to whatever she wanted since she clearly wouldn't do anything that would bring trouble for the others.
Maria had made her way home, changing back to her normal everyday outfit, but she grumbled at a knock on her door. She walked to open it to see the man she was avoiding for the past years of her life. She ran out the door after kicking the man. She let out a loud scream in hopes that someone would hear her. Not too many people were nearby, though she was hoping that Barnaby was at this time, it seemed that he was gone. "What do you think you're doing to my friend?" a voice almost roared out.
A dark-skinned male with a large figure stood there between her and the man that was chasing her. "Y-you're…"
The male smiled gently at Maria then changed his attention to the male. "Oh, this is going to be a fun story to explain."
