Anna's eyes widened for the fraction of a second. Penelope looked slyly towards Ladislas who ignored her completely. He didn't even react to her provocation.
"Smell familiar?" her former partner snorted. "Do you have a keen nose… like a dog?"
Penelope glared. "How dare you." She flicked her hair over her shoulder. "I have a sensitive nose like a big cat." She made a show of her claws.
Anna was glad she had a poker face. The situation was all too amusing.
"But I feel like I smell you around the house all the time. Right, Master?" she cooed.
Ladislas sneered but didn't comment. Of course, the house smelled like her. He was constantly beside her when he could. Penelope picked up her scent on Ladislas' clothes all the time. So, she was used to it.
"She smells like detergent and… more detergent," the man beside her said.
