Liquoring up, partying and relishing their lives.
"Hey! Another shot please, would you mind?" the bartender got her another one.
She continued dancing to the music until Amelia came, joined hands with her and started dancing as well.
They danced the night away until Stella was too high to even walk home so Amelia wrapped her arm over her back and carried Stella to her car. It was late at night and there were creeps everywhere this time in New York City, it was safest to drive Stella home.
Amelia laid Stella in the back and sat up front when she heard a loud noise. A beep beep noise, it sounded like a warning system, Amelia got out of the car to check it out, and she started seeing the northern lights. Thought she went insane because northern lights in New York. Then there was a beam in the sky, she knew nothing, all she knew was that she had to get out of there.
She drove and rapidly got attempted to get away from the beam but there was another blast, which powered off her car leading them into an accident.
"Amelia, Amelia, Amelia..." Stella said in a faint voice, Amelia gained consciousness and noticed the car was upside down, they had to get out.
Stella was still high from all the booze but she had enough energy to stand on her own, she managed to get out of the car and helped Amelia get out as well.
Amelia was bleeding from her hand and it was excessive, Stella ripped some of her dress from her lower thigh and tied it on Amelias' hand to prevent too much blood loss.
Thankfully they weren't wearing heels so they could walk, Amelia noticed the beam was gone. They headed back towards their dorm, but when they came close to the area it was completely destroyed. There was no sign of life anywhere.
"What h-happened?"
"I-I just don't know, there was this beam and I saw the northern lights and then our car crash, I-I don't know what's happening.."
They continued walking in silence until they reached a
store, they got a change of clothes and some food and some extra things to sustain them for awhile until they figure things out.
"Well that's certainly better. But where to now?"
"We will have to find out where everyone went, do you know anyone in this city? Like do you have family here that we could go to, because I dont."
"No, my brother is in George Washington and my grandparents live in Maryland"
"Ah, I guess we'll have to get our hands on a phone to communicate with your brother and see if this only happened here or everywhere"
"Yeah"
We looked around for available cars so travelling could be easier and Amelia decided she will take off the cloth to see her injury as it stopped hurting at all
"It's been one day, ONE DAY, how is this possible, no no this this can't be."
She stares at her hand in shock as there is no sign of any injury
Stella got a car but was shocked to see Amelias' hand as it was impossible for it to heal in one day that too completely.
Stella was driving while Amelia sat in the passenger seat looking out the window.
It was dark, and she was starting at the moving cars' shadow when all of a sudden the shadow disappeared
"Stella, Stella did you see that??"
"See what Amelia?"
When Amelia looked back, the shadow of the moving car was back. And so they continued the journey in silence until they reached Maryland.
