Run away.. far far away

CHAPTER ONE

*This is my first book, hope ya'll enjoy it!*

Her legs moved like that of lightning, so fast that you couldn't even get a glimpse of it touching the ground.

'Faster Gizelle, Faster!'

She shouted at herself inwardly, her pace increasing and her bare feet stomping onto sharp stones and tree branches. The pain was excruciating but she could not stop, no, she wouldn't! Not after finally freeing herself from that dungeon her father calls a castle.

She was a princess, but behind those walls, she felt more of a captive, no, a slave was the right word! She felt more like a slave who had to mindlessly obey her father's every word.

Gizelle had planned on running away on many occasions, so many times that she's lost count of, but her father always seemed to catch her, sometimes she wondered if he had inserted a GPS chip into her, because that was the only reasonable thing which could explain all her attempts of running away failing.

But not today!

After 'mistakenly' hearing the news that her father had to immediately fly over to another country due to some sort of royal emergency, she knew instantly that this was her chance. Her chance of finally being free and so, here she was, desperately running away from the land where her dead mother had given birth to her.

Gizelle shook her head slowly, a disbelieving smirk appearing at the corner of her lips.

She could not even think of a single soul within those palace walls that she'll miss, not even her sisters.. those would be the last on her 'i miss you list' if she had one. Even her maids were way better and more trustworthy than those two sly witches who somehow got the title 'her sisters'

Her head suddenly swap backwards and thankfully, it seemed that the guards who had been chasing after her where nowhere in sight.

She had no idea when a sigh of relief escaped her lips, her legs finally giving in and her body slumping down to the muddy ground. She didn't even want to see the condition her clothes were in now, she must currently look worst than a pig.

Running her fingers into her long silky red hair, she rested her head against the tree trunk behind her, her eyes already closed. She took in a deep breath before muttering the words she's been yarning to say.

"Free, at last." A smile etched at the side of her lip, her eyes still shut closed. The word 'Free' made her insides jump in excitement.

And come to think of it, this sight was really perfect for those professional photographers, who like to flash bright lights of their expensive cameras at literally anything come across. The only thing that was odd about this current sight—Gizelle, was that before they're able to take at least a picture, the bad odur omitting from her, due to sweat and the stinky mud beneath her would chase them away instantly.

Something warm and liquid suddenly landed at the tip of her nose.

"Rain?" She asked no one, a bright smile forming on her lips.

"I love the rain." She added, adjusting herself into a more comfortable position. She stayed there for a while, motionless, waiting for the 'rain' to pour down but her eyes suddenly shot wide open, her brows knotting tightly.

"When does rain suddenly feel warm?" This question, she directed to herself and instantly looked up and her whole immediately stilled, no it froze, and this was not dye to any sort of cold, but.. she gulped, a tiger!

It's predatory eyes bore right into hers, as if waiting for her to make a wrong move before it attacked.

Gizelle was still frozen to the core, making no attempts of moving whatsoever.

But then, since she didn't want to make the first move, the tiger it upon itself to do so and with abrupt force, immediately jumped down causing Gizelle to shriek out loudly at the last moment, her hands instinctively covering her head.

But one, two three.. and still, she felt nothing trying to claw her skin apart, and so, she slowly removed the hand which was covering her eyes and what she saw next shocked her to her core.

The tiger which was about to eat her raw, now laid on the ground, divided into two, black blood spewing uncontrollably out of it.

Gizelle had no idea when it happened, but she immediately passed out.

———

Her hand slowly touched her forehead and a small moan escaped her lips. After a while, her lashes slowly fluttered open and with a frown, she looked around just to see that she was in a room?

She pinched herself slightly, trying to wake up from this obvious hallucination of hers but she still felt herself sitting on an extreme soft bed.

H-how is this possible?

She was in the woods some minutes ago.. how the hell did she get here?

Gizelle shut her eyes closed, trying to see if she remember what had happened last and the image of that tiger being gruesomely killed came rushing back to her.

Her eyes immediately flew open and her hand slowly gripped the bedsheets below her, two questions running across her mind.

..Who killed the tiger?

..How did she arrive here?
