Maya rushed to the kitchen, reaching just before the clock could hit two. Instead of eating lunch there peacefully and chatting with her colleagues, she quickly stuffed a plastic bag, she had picked up from the pantry, with two baguettes and ignored the hot vegetable soup. She rushed out of the kitchen while the two servants who had thrown Aisha into the depths of the dungeons had seen it all.
In the well thousands of snakes had now fully covered Aisha and were pulling her deep inside the well, while Aisha didn't feel like struggling the way she did for 9 years. She had lost all her will to survive and wished death.
The darkness in the room didn't allow her to look at the gate that was almost 10 feet above her from where she was thrown, so she only looked at the dark ceiling which seemed like it had no end.
Bored by the same celling Aisha, closed her eyes. Half of her body was already deep inside the well. All that was left was her face which started to go in slowly when she closed her eyes. Just when her forehead was about to go in, Aisha heard footsteps and then someone called out for her slamming at the iron rails.
'who could it be? Father? Brother? The servants? Or is it— is it Maya? '
Immediately Aisha popped her head out of the well of snakes and found out that her guess was very much correct. Aisha started to pull her body out of the clutches of the cruel snakes by pushing them down using her hand just to have a glance at Maya, her precious maid, once again.
"Miss?!" Maya screamed trying to find out her little mistress. Her voice echoed in the deep 10 feet well and came back to her in return but didn't carry any reply along with it. "Miss! Are you there? Can you hear me?"
"Yes," Aisha said after half of her body was out. "Maya— Maya I'm scared." And with that tears started to shed from her eyes. "I want to get out of here."
"I'm sorry miss. I can't help you with that." Maya replied, disappointed in herself.
"I know but—but then can you at least stay here and talk to me?" Aisha pleaded. She was scared of loneliness and darkness, she had left behind long ago. She feared she might have to spend another 9 years here and it won't be easy this time after being exposed to the outside world for almost the same time.
"I can't. If master finds out—"
"Yes, I'm sorry for that request. " Aisha instantly apologized after realizing how cruel her father could be to Maya if he found out.
" Are you hungry, Miss? " Maya asked folding her bag and securing it with a knot. " I'm sorry I couldn't get anything fancy. This is all I could find. " She threw the bag down.
By then Aisha was completely out and was already sitting on the snakes, as if they were her bed, folding her legs. Aisha looked at the bag that had been thrown next to her and reached out for it before the snakes could take it inside them.
She opened the bag and found two baguettes in them. Hungry as she was, Aisha quickly started to feast on those baguettes. "Thank you so much, Maya!" She said while her mouth was stuffed with loaf.
Maya was happy to find out that her miss could enjoy food and didn't go hungry, ignoring her growling stomach. "I must leave now," Maya said.
On her way out of the dungeon, Maya met a certain someone she did not want to meet the most. Her master! Her doom was waiting for her to get out at the doorstep. Maya immediately fell on her knees, afraid that she would be caught and would meet her death soon.
"Where did you go?" Dhananjay asked the kneeling maid while leaning on the door, folding his arms around his chest and suspending all his weight on his right leg.
"To meet the little Miss, my lord." She replied, placing her hand on her chest and bowing without raising her eyes.
"And where is the food you sneaked out of the kitchen?"
Maya shivered at that question. 'Who? who told the master about it?' That's when she saw two more pairs of legs behind Dhananjay.
" Did she not? " Dhananjay asked the two.
Maya raised her head to get a glance at the two who had complained about her. They were none other than those two servants who had dragged Aisha to the dungeon. After finding out it was them, Maya looked back down on the ground not moving her hand from her chest.
