Ethan's Return

David was completely taken aback when his boss informed him about his desire to return to Elbonia. He knew very well how challenging it was to convince his boss to come back. Even if his boss's grandparents exerted pressure on him, he would adamantly refuse.

However, the unexpected happened and his boss himself expressed the wish to go back to Elbonia. David stood there, stunned, with his mouth agape and eyes wide open, as he watched Ethan's retreating figure. Despite the shock, he gathered himself and trailed behind Ethan, making all the necessary arrangements for their journey back to Elbonia.

In just a couple of hours, Ethan made his way back to Golrid City in Elbonia. Once he stepped off the plane, he glanced over at David and casually instructed, "Let's head to Conlor Mansion." "Sure, Boss," David replied.

They hopped into the car and began their journey towards Conlor Mansion, which was situated on the outskirts but on a different side compared to the Adam family. If the Adam family lived down south, then the Andersons were located out east. It took them about an hour to reach their destination.

The Anderson old couple preferred to distance themselves from the bustling city life, so they always sought solace in the peaceful outskirts, where noise was minimal and the atmosphere was filled with nature.

As soon as the car pulled into the gated community, it passed by numerous mansions and villas before finally arriving at a grand mansion gate.

The mansion itself was a two-story beauty, showcasing a timeless and sophisticated architectural style. Its welcoming facade boasted tall columns and large arched windows. The meticulously maintained grounds featured perfectly sculpted topiaries, mature trees, and an array of vibrant flowers.

Within the landscape, there was a serene water fountain, adding to the overall tranquility of the surroundings. The car smoothly made its way through the driveway, guided by soft ambient lighting poles, leading to a portico at the entrance.

Ethan stepped out of the car and confidently strode towards the mansion, while David silently followed suit, not uttering a word.

As Ethan stepped inside the grand double doors, he caught sight of Butler Beau emerging from the kitchen with a tray in hand. "Uncle Beau." Ethan called.

Butler Beau froze in surprise upon hearing the recognizable voice, almost as if he couldn't believe it. David entered behind Ethan and greeted, "Good day, Butler Beau."

Upon hearing David's voice, Butler Beau realized it wasn't a figment of his imagination. He swiftly turned to face Ethan, who was standing in the foyer.

And David was right behind him. Butler Beau greeted Ethan with a cheerful smile, "Young Master! Welcome back home." Ethan approached Butler Beau and inquired, "Where's Grandpa?"

"Your grandparents are in the backyard, Young Master," Butler Beau replied with a grin. Upon hearing this, Ethan headed towards the backyard, with Butler Beau and David trailing behind him.

Upon reaching the backyard, they spotted the elderly couple, Mr. Thomas Anderson and Mrs. Eleanor Anderson. Thomas was tending to the plants, he was wearing a light blue, well-tailored polo shirt along with comfortable khaki trousers.

Eleanor appeared absolutely captivated by the book she was reading. Despite her age, she exuded a radiant charm with her long chic hair and wore a graceful, flowing attire that perfectly complemented her elegant presence.

Ethan approached them and spoke calmly to his grandpa, "Hey, Grandpa, you look really happy, huh?" Eleanor's head snapped around in surprise upon hearing a voice.

Noticing Ethan standing beside her, Eleanor quickly stood up from her chair and made her way towards him. Ethan shifted his gaze from his grandpa to his beloved grandma, and a small smile formed on his face.

"Hey, Grandma," Ethan greeted with a warm smile. Eleanor walked over and stood in front of Ethan, opening her arms for a hug with her grandson. Ethan, seeing her welcoming gesture, embraced her with a smile and asked, "How are you, Grandma?"

Eleanor's eyes were filled with tears as she spoke, "I'll be good and healthy now that you're back." She released her grandson, Ethan, and he noticed her red eyes from crying.

"Don't cry, Grandma," Ethan comforted her. Eleanor managed a small smile through her tears, "How can I not cry? We've been waiting for you to come back for so long. Why did you only return now?"

She gently wiped away her tears, trying to regain composure. Suddenly, a thought struck her, and she looked up at Ethan, her eyes searching for answers.

"You'll be staying here in Elbonia from now on, right?" Ethan glanced over at his unshaken grandpa, who continued to tend to the plants without any surprise at his return.

"Grandpa should really know better, Grandma," Ethan remarked, glancing towards his grandmother. "What do you mean, Ethan?" Eleanor asked, her confusion evident as she glanced back and forth between her husband and grandson.

"Grandma, if Grandpa really wanted me back, I would've been here days ago. Didn't he mention that to you?" Ethan asked with his eyebrows raised, his eyes shifting from his grandma to his grandpa.

Thomas understood his grandson's intentions and quickly set aside his watering tool. He approached his wife and reassured her, "Don't listen to him, honey. He's just trying to drive a wedge between us."

As Thomas spoke, he shot Ethan a stern look, as if warning him. However, Ethan simply shrugged it off and flashed a smile at his grandpa.

"Ethan, what's going on? What did your grandpa do?" Eleanor inquired, her eyes fixed on her grandson, completely disregarding the man attempting to calm her down.

Ethan glanced at his grandma and then turned his attention to his grandpa, as if waiting for him to talk himself. Thomas, feeling the pressure mounting, realized that if he didn't surrender now, his grandson would drive a wedge between him and his wife.

Despite being the powerful figure who commanded the Anderson empire worldwide, instilling fear in everyone, the thought of having to give in to his grandson was unbearable for Thomas.

But considering his wife's anger, he didn't give a damn and just wanted to confess everything so that Eleanor wouldn't be mad at him.

Thomas calmly responded, "Alright, alright. I'll admit it. I kept something from him." Eleanor stared at Thomas in disbelief and questioned, "What did you hide from him, knowing that it would make him come back here?"

Thomas let out a sigh and confessed, "It's about Zara." Eleanor was taken aback upon hearing the name, Zara. It had been such a long time since anyone mentioned that name in this country or even in this household. Especially not in front of Ethan.

Eleanor was taken aback when she heard the word, and her first instinct was to look at her husband. Then, she shifted her gaze towards her grandson to see how he reacted. Much to her surprise, he remained calm and even had a slight smile on his face.

Feeling confused, Eleanor turned to her husband and inquired, "What about Zara?" Thomas took her hand and gently urged her to take a seat. He knew exactly how she would react once she heard what he had to say.

Once she was seated, Eleanor anxiously looked at her husband, who was sitting beside her, and asked, "Tell me, what's about Zara?" Thomas looked into her eyes, holding her hands, and said, "Zara is alive."
