A Person Fell In Front Of The Car

After a few days, the Adam family suppressed the news of Zara's passing, and it quickly vanished from the public eye as if it had never happened. Everyone assumed that if the family continued to hear of their daughter's death, it would be like adding salt to the wound, therefore nobody questioned this.

In Elbonia, darkness had already fallen. The Adam couple had completed some of their work and were making their way back to their house through a valley road. As they were driving, a sudden break led the pair to be flung forward by force, but Andrew instantly intervened and embraced Kylie, holding her so she would not be wounded.

When the car came to a halt, the bodyguards following behind dashed forward and gathered around the car, protecting the couple inside.

The butler who was sitting in the front passenger seat hurriedly said, "Sorry, Master. Someone rushed in front of our car. We'll look into it soon." Andrew nodded at him and he quickly went to look at the situation.

The butler was a man in his forties. He quickly got out of the car and instructed the guards to stand by. And he got other two other guards to help him look at the situation.

Soon, the car window was knocked on Andrew's side, as the glass was lowered the butler looked at Andrew and said, "Master, it's a lady and little girl. The lady is very frail, and both appear to have fainted. It's better to get them to the hospital right away."

"Then what are you waiting for? Do it." As soon as Kylie heard the butler's remarks, she said. "Furthermore, inform the authorities of the circumstances and stay by their side to handle matters. Tell me if anything is needed." Andrew continued.

"Ok, Master. I'll take care of it here. I'll let the guards follow you, Master." Andrew nodded at him and rolled up the car window. One car sped off from the other two and drove toward the city.

The car was entirely silent throughout the way, till they reached the house. Kylie could not shake the image of the little child the secretary had brought up, even after they had entered their house.

After eating supper and going on a walk, the couple returned to their room to sleep. Although Andrew saw his wife was having something on her mind, he assumed it was because she was missing Zara.

However, Andrew was unable to see his wife's complicated expression, so he softly asked her, holding her hand, "Honey, what happened? Why do you appear so worried?"

"Honey, I'm thinking of the little girl the butler told us about. Is she going to be alright?" Kylie inquired, worriedly glancing at her husband.

"Of course, Honey. She will be alright. Don't stress over it. I'll give Mark a call and ask him to watch out for the girl more. Alright?" The butler, Mark, has been employed here since he was in his early twenties and has shown Andrew and his family a great deal of loyalty. "Yes, do that. And if something goes wrong, let him ask to call us." "Ok, as you say."

After speaking with the butler, Andrew worriedly added, "If you're so worried, we'll go to the hospital tomorrow morning and take a look," as he glanced at his still-dazed wife. "Are you okay with it? Honey, can you go to bed already?"

After giving him a nod, Kylie was able to sleep well.

The next morning, the first thing the Adam couple did was go to the hospital to look at the lady and the girl.

Mark was waiting for the pair in the underground parking lot of the hospital when they arrived. "Mark, how is the treatment going on?"

Mark paused briefly before continuing, "The lady couldn't be rescued. She appeared to have been held hostage for a very long time and was beaten very badly and lacked the stamina to flee."

He let out a sigh and said, "She appeared to have attempted to flee yesterday in an attempt to save her daughter, and she ended up in front of us."

Kylie was typically a soft-hearted person, so when she heard about the scenario, she immediately felt awful for the child and the mom. Kylie remarked, "What about the girl?" glancing at Mark. "Is she in good health?"

"Yes, Madam. She needs more nourishment, but she's okay. She seemed to have had a head injury and lost all memory of the previous events. Also, the authorities were unable to locate any information about her." Mark glanced at Kylie and explained.

Mark took the Adam couple to the hospital's daycare center. Mark gestured to the girl leaning on her bed, grinning as she played with the toys with the other children who stood next to the bed.

"Can't the police find any information about the girl's family?" Kylie questioned, observing the girl gently. "No, Madam. Nothing appears to be known about her family. She seemed to have had no other relatives than that woman." stated Mark.

The couple left the hospital after asking how she was feeling and instructed Mark to handle the girl's accommodation and other arrangements. The couple made the decision to support her academically till she graduated.

Kylie had been thinking about the young child all day, and even throughout her conversation with Zara, she appeared to be in a haze but tried her best to conceal it in front of her daughter.

Zara sensed that something wasn't right with her mother today, so she phoned her father to find out what had occurred once the video call was over.

Although Andrew was first taken aback that his daughter could see through her mother's change in mood, he knew his daughter well enough to tell her what had happened.

And he is aware that his daughter will find out what occurred even if he kept it from her. So it would be best if he said it personally.

Zara listened to what had transpired, without saying anything she thought for some time, and then calmly asked, "Dad, how about you find out from Mom whether she would like to adopt the girl?"

Although he was taken aback by his daughter's remarks, Andrew understood Zara's perspective and asked with worry, "Are you sure, Lia?". "Indeed, Dad. If not, I won't advise you to do so. See how Mom reacts and do as she wants, Dad."

Andrew realized he couldn't keep anything from his IQ-boosting little girl when he heard her words. When Andrew returned to the room after a lengthy conversation with his daughter, he found Kylie still deep in concentration and leaning against the headboard.

He walked towards the bed and sat on the other side of the bed and closed the distance between them. He held Kylie's hand, patted it, and asked softly, "Honey, what do you think about the little girl we saw in the hospital?"

Kylie looked at Andrew and smiled sweetly saying, "She's such a sweet and happy kid. Didn't you see how much she liked to play with others and shared her toys happily with others?" "Yes."

"However, observing her also reminds me of our Lia, as she lay on the hospital bed covered in bandages. It left me wondering, why am I still here doing nothing when someone made my daughter suffer?" Kylie groaned and said.

"I feel awful for the child. She only had one family member to speak about. The saddest thing is that she lost her memories, and she even lost that person now. I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing."

"Why are you thinking like that, Honey?" "Consider it. We are unsure of the extent of their suffering prior to the accident. Furthermore, we are unaware of all the hardships she endured. Thus, her memory loss might also be seen as a fresh start."
