LILY'S POV
It didn't take a lot of time before a not so elderly woman came to us carrying a first aid box.
I wished I could heal faster like other werewolves.
"Hello miss, you can meet Maggie," the perky nurse said to me with a welcoming smile. I forced a smile at her too as she got down to work. Danny stepped away a bit and watched from a distance.
She looked at my legs, "ouch! Does this hurt much? You look really wounded…" She said as she applied a powdered medicine in the open wounds in my legs. All thanks to Liam and his silver dungeon.
I cried out in pain, "ouch! Oh my! This hurt a lot!"
"Yeah, I know but don't worry it will subside soon. This will help it," Maggie consoled.
"Can you make this stop already!" I continued to wince in pain clutching my legs.
The pain was really excruciating and burned deep into my soul but thinking about how it came to be only got me angrier. My wolf could feel the pain inside me as well and kept on whimpering inside me.
Thankfully she was done in the next seven minutes as I heaved out in relief.
"Miss, I would need to ask you a few questions but you should get some rest now. And I'm afraid you can't afford to walk by yourself for now...errrr… I don't know but you need to get your family or anyone to take you home."
Maggie preached to me. At first I worried for the question she wanted to ask me but the concluding part of her statement worried me more.
"I can't work with my leg?" I asked with a gaped mouth nearly horrified. Am I losing my leg suddenly? Then I will never forgive Liam and Helen if it happened to be true.
She looked at me puzzled, "You can call a family…"
"It's okay Maggie, thank you. I will take it from here." Danny interrupted.
"It's done my prince, she can have her bath now and change into something better. The cold is already penetrating into her skin," Maggie bowed and left.
For a split second, I was somewhat grateful he spoke up just when I needed it.
I was confused about what to do. If only they knew I can't go back home, no, I don't have a home.
Maybe I could just share my story and problems with Danny, who knows he could be considerate enough to let me into his home.
But telling him my story would leave me no choice but to reveal my identity and that I wasn't sure was safe.
"Are you human?" I blurted out without thinking.
Danny squinted at me.
"Errm sorry...I mean..don't…" I tried to apologize. He looked like he misunderstood me.
"I'm just like you…" he said and threw a charming wink at me.
"Werewolf?" I asked to be sure.
He nodded with a grin.
Gosh! He is a werewolf and he is so cute!
"Oh my, what just happened?" I asked myself, feeling slightly shy. Danny just winked at me in the sweetest way and I was already getting wet down.
I felt like I was going crazy. Jeez! Is he flirting with me? I mean I haven't had a guy wink at me in such a manner, like he was urging me on and making me weak on my knees. I prayed for him to not have a mate because with the way things are, I felt like I was developing some attraction for him.
But Liam's images won't let me be. He always finds a way to come into my head each time something sweet wants to happen to me.
"Urrrgh! I hate him!"
And my wolf. I can't feel any form of excitement or bond with Danny. And that's because he isn't my mate but I still like him.
"I'm sorry I don't mean to startle you," he apologized.
"Sorry? You haven't done anything wrong. At least not yet," I said, winking at him back.
His eyes went open with shock or maybe surprise. He grinned softly.
"Uhm, I think I should apologize in advance for what I'm about to do…" Danny said and started to approach me slowly.
My heart flew into my mouth as thousands of thoughts ran wide in my head as the possible thing he could do to me that got him apologizing beforehand.
Kill me? Hurt me? Is he a kidnapper or a killer? Or even a vampire?
I was too weak already and couldn't afford to fight back even if he attacked me. But he just assured me that he was a werewolf, why then would he hurt me. Could it be that he was lying to me? Why then did he waste his time and energy getting me treated only to kill me afterwards.
My fingers were slowly changing into paws and claws as I dug them into the ground hoping to fight for my life even if he later killed me, then I would be happy to know that at least I tried my best to defend myself the best I could. My heart was beating fast as I waited for the best time to launch at him. He was still coming close but what baffled me the most was that he didn't look like one ready to devour his prey. He was coming at me with a smile that looked harmless. I glanced at his hands and didn't see any transformation about to occur but I wasn't about to let my guard down.
He stood in front and stopped.
I started to shift backwards, clawing my nails into the ground. I watched his movement and focused on him.
He stooped low before me and before I could say jack he lifted me in a brides style. I couldn't have processed the whole thing fast as I dug my claws into his shoulders with my eyes closed causing him to wince in pain.
"Jeez! Ouch! What's going on with you?" he cried out in pain.
My eyes flew open at once as I retracted my claws. I saw myself in Danny's arms and it didn't look like he had any intentions of hurting me.
"Oh...I'm sorry, I mean I wasn't thinking at all…" I stuttered regretfully and ashamed.
"Obviously you weren't! What was going on in your head? I only wanted to help…"
"Yeah, I'm so sorry. I really am…"
Shit! What was I thinking?I regretted inside of me as I shut my eyes again, embarrassed and not willing to look at Danny's face. I felt like I messed up real bad, he must be thinking I'm such a bad person. He must consider me scary now, gosh, what have I done?
