WRITER'S POV
Helen smiled mischievously once Liam was out of the room but the smile quickly turned into anger the moment she remembered her mate.
"Can't he just disappear or something..uff! I will never accept him as my mate. I have Liam,.my one and only love…" Helen spoke out loud, grinning at the thought of Liam as her love. She remembered what transpired between them a while ago, "gosh, I feel so embarrassed…'' She hid her eyes behind her palms and folded her hands and legs together in a romantic way.
"Sorry Lily, Liam is mine now and I would do everything to protect him and keep him as mine. But I forgive you for hurting me." Helen said with a mean face as she remembered Lily. She only hoped she never returned again.
The messengers Liam asked to find out about Samson just returned with equally unpleasant news for Liam.
"So, they have decided to go to war huh…" Liam said with blazing eyes, his Alpha aura circulated the whole room as the messengers shivered in fear hoping he wouldn't transfer his anger on them.
"Hey! Did you make their Alpha realise his subordinate was at fault? Huh? He must have sent him then. He really thinks he can win me if we go to war that he quickly choose war over peace? Huh…" He scoffed angrily and stood abruptly from his seat, his claws formed and teeth transformed into his Alpha fangs. He was ferocious as he growled loudly. His growl could be heard across seas and forests.
"Send a message to the elders of the pack, the goddess must be summoned and her directions seek for this war! We must win this war no matter what!" Liam roared like a lion that it's tail had been touched by an enemy.
"Yes my Alpha," the men bowed and went to do as they were asked.
Liam wouldn't stop fuming in anger when the messengers left. He was pacing around the room when his mother came in.
"How did it go?" She asked facing Liam who wouldn't stop but continued to pace around the room.
"Bad, I guess. They want war… Hmmm," Liam's mother was quick to understand the situation.
Deep within her, she was angry but she maintained herself and could only clench her teeth in anger.
"You should try talking to the prisoner again, we can't afford to go to war now Liam, we could lose a lot of us, women and children especially…"
"Mother, the women and children would be safe. You would watch over them. It's the war they want, then we should be prepared for them. I can't be a coward and let my people be in danger…" Liam said and stomped out of the room.
His mother sighed worriedly as she watched him leave. She couldn't help but beg the gods to protect her son who would do anything to protect his people including putting his life at risk.
Alpha Noah, the one he would be going against, isn't an easy one to beat and a lot of lives could be lost. She really wished there was a way to stop this war from happening for the sake of many lives involved. But she knew better than to expect his son to bow to Alpha Noah and his pack.
AT THE MEETING WITH THE ELDERS OF LIAM'S PACK
"Noah's pack has called for war," Liam started to say once they were all gathered. He sat on a high chair and faced the men. From his face and demeanour, the men already knew there was danger lurking around and were absolutely silent and they waited to hear from the Alpha.
"We must prepare for war but first we must seek for the directions and wisdom of the goddess. Elder Patrick, did you get any message from the goddess yet?" Liam asked, turning towards a bald headed man who looked to be in his fifties.
Elder Patrick stood up, "My Alpha," he greeted with a bow. Liam nodded slightly to his greeting as he waited for him to speak up.
"You must accept your mate and future Luna and stay away from another man's mate! That is the message from the goddess," Patrick said and sat down.
The elders murmured among themselves, Liam's breathing got faster as he stood up from his seat and faced the men furiously.
"How can the Alpha rejected his mate and chose to go after another man's mate?" one of the elders murmured to his fellow elder who shook his head in disbelief and sheer shock.
"It is very unbelievable, he is the Alpha and should live by example, isn't it so?"
"Yes! If he can't live by example, then how can he lead this pack?"
"What can we do anyways?" the first elder added with a lost voice.
"We can replace him with his omega," the second elder said. Others opened their eyes in shock.
"Silent all of you!" Liam barked at them visibly angry.. He used his power to hear their conversation even though they spoke in low tunes. The elders ended their murmuring at once.
"This meeting is dismissed! Elder Patrick, consult the goddess and hear from her again because I will never mate or mark a wicked woman as my mate and future Luna!"
"Huh!" the elders expressed in shock. It was looking like Liam had no intentions of abiding by the goddess rules and had decided to do things his way which could be dangerous for all of them but they had no power or authority to challenge Liam and as such only murmured to themselves.
Liam secretly went to meet Samson after the meeting with the elders ended.
"I am giving you another chance to save yourself, take it now or forget it forever," he tried to cajole Samson but it seems that Samson was truly on a mission to start a war and was even ready to lose his life in the process so long as a war broke out.
Samson scoffed at Liam and said, "Are you afraid already? Huh, soft sissy Alpha, how do you lead this pack in the first place dummy?"
Liam's anger rose quicker than yeast at that moment. One thing an Alpha could never tolerate is being insulted and made mockery of and that was what Samson just did. He just touched the tail of a lion and that lion is Liam who has been thirsty for blood for a while.
Liam didn't waste a second before his claws and paws transformed. He growled at Samson, his fangs dripping blood thirsty saliva.
For once since Samson was captured, he was afraid as Liam stood in his Alpha form and half werewolf form. His body didn't fully transform but his claws, paws and fangs formed and Samson knew he could be torn into pieces that moment with the way Liam snarled at him.
