He is him, John Miller.

She feels a metal on her neck and she freezes. She knows not who it can be and she awaits the person word.

"Who are you?" The person asks.

"I.i.i.i am me. Why are you asking me that?" She replies the person, her heart jamming to her chest.

She feels the knife pierce to her neck, and she feels the pain.

"Why are you doing this to me? I don't even know who the fuck you are." she says still looking straight. She hears the boy's laughter and he replies her still laughing.

"I would have believed your stupid lies if I am a gullible person, like the Baron you haven't following since. I saw you since you have started trailing the Baron. Do you wanna steal something from him?" The voice asks her and she smirks. She thinks the person is someone she sees with the Baron, but she must have thought wrongly....or maybe the duke might have sent someone to monitor the Baron to see if he is going to act unwisely.

Does that mean he never caught her intentions?

"Yes I am a thief. I am looking for a perfect time to steal from the Baron. I am sorry sir." She kneels down abruptly. "I have not eaten for seven days. I lost my parent when I was young. My grandma died last month, and I've been alone since then as small as I am." She says with tears rolling down to her cheeks....fake.

The man withdraws his knife and looks at her with pity and shakes his head.

"You are still small. How old are you?" T

He asks.

She hiccups in tears and rubs off the wets on her cheeks. She doesn't know what to reply him with. If she says she is fourteen, her real age, he is going to think she is lying and ask how a boy have a small body like her.

"I am twelve." She says and the boy nods.

"I will give you some meats, but don't you ever steals anymore. It's not good." The boy lectures and enters the kitchen. When he returns he brings some stuffs outside. She is surprised to see him being so nice. She stares at the man and doesn't think he is the guy with the Baron earlier. Although the other man use a cloak to cover his face, it still show that his face is rougher. This one - he is more smoother than the other one and he is also good looking. He still looks like he is nineteen or not up to that. But there is something odd about him. He really is... special in his own way - he has this special aura that she can't pinpoint what it is.

She finally think of what he just says-

She should steal anymore?

What about him involving himself with the evil duke?

She stares at him as he walks toward her, once again and smiles sadly. His clothes are worn and tattered, but there is a sense of dignity in the way he carries himself. His face is clean shaven, his hair neatly combed, and his eyes holds a spark of intelligence. Though his clothes are poor, he holds his head high and walks with pride. He carries himself with such grace that it was impossible to look away.

He works for the Duke, but he never take care of him like normal. Maybe because he is not working for him directly and he have a boss, who treats him wrong-

-but something is still off about him, she cannot describe.

But who exactly is the duke? her thought.

He stretches the wraps of meat towards her and she collects it with a smile. The aroma of the meat makes her scrunches her nose...so palatable.

"Thank you, sir. You are very nice. What is your name?" She asks and the boy glares at her arrogantly and he eventually answers her;.

"Why do you wanna know, small thief-taker?" He asks.

"I just want to know the name of my benefactor." She replies with a bright smile.

The boy blushes a little and cleared his throat.

She cannot help but wonder why he is blushing. Is it not like eighteen or what?

"I am John Miller." He says and she smiles before-

-her brain clicks and she turns to him with confusion and shocks written on her face.

"John Miller?" She repeats and John nods, and wonders why she looks shocked.

"Yes. Why are you surprised?" He asks.

"Nothing. Thank you for today. Can I work here?" She asks. She really wishes to work here and get some fact.

"Hmmm..that.... I'll let my boss know about that. I will send a letter to you. Tell me your address." He says scratching his nose.

"Don't worry, you don't have to come." She says. She must not let her know she is the Viscount 'son'. "I'll come back here later. You don't have to waste your ink." She says to him and takes the wraps of meat and leaves.

She walks fastly out of the tavern and out of the street.

She cannot believe what she just hear. Why hasn't she noticed that for him to trail her without her knowing, he is not a bit ordinary.
