In my previous life, I was merely a supporting character, highlighting Damon’s deep love for another woman. Tragically, my story unfolded with devastating consequences, leaving my family in ruins and my life shattered. Upon my rebirth, I chose to adopt a carefree attitude, ignoring the situation and waiting for Damon to ask for a divorce. But something peculiar happened. The man who used to disappear for weeks suddenly started showing up every few days. “Do you think there will come a time when you’ll want me to disappear?” I queried. “Do not indulge in fantasies.” he retorted, “We’ll continue to torment each other until the end.” I sighed, as a reincarnated soul, confident that his destined soulmate would soon cross his path. Finally, he encountered her, and I believed freedom was within my grasp. Yet, he quietly…
"I've given you plenty of chances. Have you forgotten all of them?" I couldn't help but retort.
"I didn't understand myself back then. Can you stop judging me now based on my past?" Damon seemed even more helpless as I said that. He knew that he couldn't change the past. And he knew how excessive his past behavior was.
I remained silent and just continued to drive.
Upon arriving at the hospital, I accompanied Damon to treat his wounds and then drove him back to Starlight Estates.
Knowing that Damon's mother was also there, I planned to just drop Damon off at the entrance and let him walk in himself. But he just sat in the passenger seat, not moving a bit.
"I couldn't walk because you hurt me," Damon turned his head and looked at me as if it were a matter of course.
I was confused. When did he get hurt because of me? I didn't ask him to drink, nor did I hire someone to beat him.
