Welcome

"The Witchmural will be held next week. You are already involved because you entered the school while the Witchmural was not being held," Franxine said to David. While enjoying a snack, I silently listen to them.

"What specific events will be held at the Witchmural?" David inquired.

"Hmm, I don't know either, I don't have any idea, but one of our professors said, on the first day, they will find out what breed we witches are before hanging out with people of the same breed," she remarked, I looked at the two. They appear to like conversing.

"Then, what breed will I be assigned?" David said, and I burst out laughing.

"People don't have a breed. you're probably the only one who studies here in this school who would be so wise as to enter the school of witches?" I replied, and Franxine elbowed me.

"What are you doing, Alison? Don't tease David too much. We should welcome him as a new student."

"The only ones welcome are witches like us, not people like him," I explained to David. "Is your mind ruined?" I inquired.

"As I previously stated, I want to learn new things," David said, then smiled at me. I just rolled my eyes and then ate quietly again.

"By the way, I've noticed that the clouds are always dark. is that normal in this town?" David inquired of Franxine.

"Ah, you know that thing is normal for us. Every time the day of her death approaches, the color of the cloud changes," Franxine replied.

"Who exactly is she?"

"Hmm, I don't know either, but there is talk that she is an evil witch, and she gave a curse that not everyone knows what curse she gave before she died," Franxine explained.

"No one in town knows who that witch is. All they know is that there is a curse that exists."

"But you know, every time the cloud darkens, there is also a bad omen coming," Franxine continued.

"Like what?"

"Hmm, last year, the cloud color was dark before a tragedy happened, some witches died in that tragedy, and that tragedy was the work of an unknown witch." Franxine's story

"Unknown witch? Who is that?"

"No one knows who that witch is either. Some speculate that the unknown witch and the witch buried under the tree are the same," Franxine responded.

I had trouble drinking water. I wonder why this David is now with us.

"Is it normal that your friend is reticent?" I arched my brows in response to his inquiry. Franxine chuckled as she stared at me.

"You'll get used to Alison. She rarely speaks in the daylight," Franxine replied, and David laughed. I crossed my arms and turned to face the two.

"Did I give you my permission to talk about me?" I inquired.

"See, we're like a black cat and a golden retriever," Franxine explained. "She's the black cat, and I'm the golden retriever." I shook my head and rose from my seat.

Franxine turned to face me.

"Hey, Alison, please wait for us," Franxine said. I gave her a sinister look and began walking away from the two.

I didn't expect to be with that man even when we had a snack.

It was only a few minutes till our next subject started, so I headed straight to the classroom.

Franxine and David came a few minutes later. Franxine was visibly nervous since she knew I was angry.

"I'm sorry, Allison," She said as I put my headphones in my ears and listened to music.

Our witchcraft instructor arrived after a few minutes.

David, sitting directly next to me, caught his attention immediately.

It inquired, "You're new here? This is the first time I saw you in my class."

"Ah yes, I just started here today, and I'm still looking to learn more in this school," David replied, making me giggle.

"As if there is, no ordinary person can gain knowledge in a school only for witches," I pointed out.

"Ms. Ferrer." Our Instructor gave me a warning. I crossed my arms.

"Is it true that you are ordinary?" he asked David. With a smile on his face, David responded.

"Yes, and I'm so grateful I was allowed to enter here," he responded. Our classmates began to whisper, which made me giggle.

"Isn't there a subject for people?"

"How can he learn if he has no power?"

"What breed will he be placed in if he ends up in the witchmural?"

"Class, please be quiet," our Instructor said, looking again at David.

"Mr...?"

"David Gomez." He said

"Mr. Gomez, are you sure you want to study here? What is your ambition, and why have you chosen to study here?" said our Instructor.

"Yes, I'm sure I'll study here because I want to explore more things, and I'm curious about how witches do their magic. I want to discover things ordinary people like me haven't yet discovered," he replied.

Our classmates began whispering once more. I laughed and looked across at Franxine, who was shaking.

"Your ambition, however, is shallow. Who assisted you in getting into this school? As far as I know, the screening for students who want to enter this school is strict," our Instructor replied. I gazed at him, waiting for him to respond.

"I passed the screening. Here's the result," David stated, taking the resulting document from his bag, then standing up and handing it to our Instructor.

While David stood by his side, our Instructor took it and read it.

"99.8% nonhuman,.2% human."

"David Gomez, unspecified age." It read what was written on the page and stared at David.

"I thought you were just an ordinary person?"

"Yes, I don't even know why the result is like that," David answered, our Instructor frowning.

"Age has not been clarified? How old are you?" he inquired.

"24 years old," David said, and our Instructor looked at him before returning the paper to David.

"All right, then. Please introduce yourself." It informed David that the resulting paper was now in his possession.

David turned to face us and grinned.

"Hello, my name is David Gomez, and I am twenty-four years old and an ordinary person." he introduced.

"Welcome to the Walter Academy for Witches, Mr. Gomez."
