The Reaper of the Stars

In the days before skyscrapers, before the continents shifted into their current place, before even written word, it is said that the Sun and the Moon would shine on the Earth in tandem. The warm Sun loved the Moon and so gave parts of its light to the cold Moon which proudly shone the reflected light granted to her by her lover. The warm touch of Sunlight kept the humans on Earth alive, their crops thriving and their skin warm and brown. The Sun kept the humans alive, and She shone down on them with a smile, proud to be theirs.... And so the Moon was banished into the Night, where she shone her milky light onto an empty sleeping world below. The lovers were separated, but to keep them apart was impossible. And thus the deities were born. —————— The Deities, the physical manifestation of the Sun and the Moon, forever cursed to reincarnate and find each other anew each time. On Lucian's 16th birthday, he is awakened to his power as the Moon. Surrounded by an odd group of allies, he sets out on a search to find his Sun and save her from whatever fate may await them both at the hands of their many enemies. —————— DISCLAIMER: Not my art in the cover. Amar’s Master

Walking through the doors of the airport, Oz looked around.

"Where even are we? I never bothered to ask where your master lives."

"Dude you're so stupid for a god." Amar shook his head. "We're in Germany."

"Woah!" Oz said in surprise, letting go of Asmodeus's shoulder. "I never knew you were German!"

"I'm not." Amar said curtly. "Let's go, we can't keep master waiting."

Amar's master was a short man, Oz physically looked down on him. He had white hair, thinning at the center, and a small beard. He had kind features. He wore sports shorts and an ACDC graphic tee shit, which surprised Oz, since he never expected Amar's master to be a hip old man.

The man smiled when he saw Amar approaching.

"It feels like it has been so long, has it not, Amar?"

He pulled Amar into a tight embrace. Amar pulled away with a light blush on his face. "You don't have to make a big deal about it. It's not like I've never been away from home."

"Can't a father miss his son every now and again?" The man chuckled. It was a warm laugh. Oz liked that laugh. It felt vaguely familiar, like a friend he used to have.

"So," the mans face became somber. "Did you bring Aysel?"

"Yes father." Amar said with a slight eyeroll.

"Great!" The man clapped his hands together. "Where is she?"

"You're staring right at her." Amar replied, pointing to Oz.

"Amar, I thought I raised you. Did you just happen to forget that Aysel is a girl? Why did you bring me two highschool boys.?"

Oz stepped up. "It makes me glad to hear that you thought I was a male. Hello!" Oz did a little wave. The man was confused.

"Sorry, maybe I should be more clear. I am Oz, the Aysel vessel. I was born a female, but am now a boy. I still house the celestial power of Aysel. I apologize for the confusion my appearance may have caused, Amar's master, sir."

The man's confusion turned into hearty laughter.

"Ah I see. It's alright my boy. And please, call me Alaric. Now, shall we head home? We have a girl to find and a world to save, no?"
