Meeting the King

(A/N: Apparently my classes tmmrw are canceled so I have time to write one more chapter as I have no need to study.)

I had thought on what to introduce myself as and decided to use the name Kaiser Sapiens Umbranatus as Kaiser is German for 'Emperor', Sapiens is Latin for 'wise' and Umbranatus is Latin for 'Shadowborn.' Kaiser is in reference to my past lives as conquerors and emperors, Sapiens being a reference to my life as Aristotle and Umbranatus is a reference to Sung-jin woo as he was the Shadow Monarch. (Thanks so much Moonam for the recommendation)

"My name is Kaiser Sapiens Umbranatus my lady, may I ask for yours?" I put on my kindest smile I could while introducing myself. I could tell from the earlier conversations that she wasn't very happy I was in her abode, not that I blame her.

"A-ah, my name is Jeyne milord." She was a decent-looking lady, long dark hair and steel eyes, a feature of the starks if what I remember is correct, maybe she was a base-born? Or descended from one?

"Jeyne, and you?" I said this while turning to the man, he was rather big. Although shorter than me, he could easily be 6 foot 2.

"Brandon milord. I had found you on my field earlier today and took you in as you were unconscious. It pleases me to see you well milord."

"Ah, is that so. Could you maybe inform me of where we are?"

"Of course milord. We are just outside Winterfell in the Kingdom of the North." Kingdom of the North? It seems I had arrived before Aegon's conquest then. I need to figure out what year it is. I could try to probe for some information before going towards Winterfell.

"Winterfell? The ancestral home of house stark?"

"Yes, milord."

"Do you know who the current King is Brandon?"

"Ah, of course, the current king is King Eyron Stark milord." King Eyron Stark. That would make this the time of Nymerias wars over the dominion of Dorne. This also means that the War Across the Water should be ending soon or should have already ended. I would have prefered a different time period I had more information in but I will work with what I have.

"Thank you, my good man, could you perhaps give me the direction towards Winterfell? I would like to have an audience with your king." I could meet King Eyron Stark and claim to be from a made-up civilization, my powers could be proof of that. I could fake a story of coming from a famous and rich house and with my 'prestigious lineage' I might be able to set up a marriage with a good suitor and start a new house here in the north.

Luckily I arrived in the North as they are not as paranoid about magic as the Andals are. Here I am able to establish myself.

"Ah yes milord, It is just around 2 leagues west, you should be able to arrive within an hour if you walk fast enough milord." 2 leagues, so around 6 miles then. Unfortunately, I can sense that many of my shadows are gone, killed while fighting the Monarchs. I do still have Kaisel, Igris, and around 400 normal shadows all around A-C rank in power.

"Thank you Brandon, I will be on my way then."

"Ah! Milord, surely you would wish to stay the night? It is getting dangerous after all, bandits could be roaming around." I could tell he doesn't really care about me personally, he only wishes for me to give him a reward for 'saving' my life earlier.

"It is fine Brandon I am off now. Goodbye Jeyne, Brandon." I nod to them both before summoning Kaisel in front of them. He appears from the ground before letting out a roar as I stood on his neck, looking down at the couple I could see their wide eyes filled with fear while looking at the Shadow Dragon.

(A/N: Image here)

"Kaisel, fly west until you see a large castle, it should be around 6 miles." I get a roar of confirmation as he flies off towards Winterfell. I had no qualms about showing off my powers, although I will not show all of my cards, my magic will be something like an open secret. It would leave me often being underestimated by opponents as I would never reveal my full strength unless necessary.

.....

The castle is currently in chaos as Kasiel and I had landed in the courtyard. The king and his guards were immediately notified and were currently looking at the ginormous ominous creature that was Kaisel while I stand on its back, looking down at those in front of me.

From the crowd of soldiers, a man walks out, with black hair, grey eyes, and a crown on his head. From these observations, he can assume this man to be King Eyron Stark. It is obvious that he is nervous but he stands strong in front of Kaisel and me.

"Who are you, stranger? These lands belong to House Stark, for what reason have you come?" Interestingly, he still stands strong even in front of Kaisel. Admirable, and a good trait to have.

"My name is Kaiser Sapiens Umbranatus. I have come to seek an audience with you, your grace." I unsummoned Kaisel and appeared on the ground looking at the Stark king in front of me. I heard gasps from the surrounding soldiers and the King went a little wide-eyed but other than that was able to keep a rather straight face, impressive.

I was taller than him, by maybe 4 inches. He looked young, maybe 22 or 23 which means that Nymeria must not have arrived in Dorne yet. That is good news.

I could tell he was confused about the house names, no doubt he never heard of them. He did however look relieved knowing I didn't come on hostile intentions.

"I am King Eyron Stark. Apologies my lord, but I know not of your house names, might I inquire to your origins?" Alright, time for my story.

"I come from the lands known as the English Isles, no doubt you had never heard of it as we had only recently discovered your lands. The kingdom was in the middle of civil war and my family was one of the few who stayed neutral. The civil war had led to the eventual fall of the kingdom but I was lucky enough to leave in time with my belongings and some of my summons."

"And for what reason had you come here, my lord?" I could tell he was intrigued by my story but he hid it well, too bad for him I was rather good at reading people's emotions.

"I was hoping to establish myself and my house in these lands. Mayhaps find a wife and start a family, your grace." He studied me for a second before nodding and signaling his men to stand down.

"Please follow me to my solar my lord, we may discuss the details there." I nod in agreement as I follow behind the king to his solar.

"Please sit my lord." I nod and took a seat across the King as he looks at me.

"What do you truly wish of me, my lord?" I smile at his bluntness. I didn't expect much less from the honorable Northmen.

"I would like to be given noble status in your lands, perhaps with a decent amount of land for me to build on."

"And for what reason do you believe I should do that?"

"Because I have much to offer to you and your kingdom. I am skilled in many categories like architecture, warfare, politics, and much more. I also am skilled in magic and could strengthen your kingdom quite a bit. There are very few cons to you accepting this deal. My people abide by our words very seriously." He appeared to be thinking over my offer. I understand his hesitance, his subjects wouldn't take very well to a foreigner being given noble status but it would pay out for him in the end. I truly intended to strengthen the North.

"Please allow me the night to think it through my lord. In the meantime, I will have a guest room prepared for you."

"I understand, your grace. I shall wait for your answer tomorrow but do know you are not the only king in these lands."
