Blaze frowned after hearing what the siblings had to say.
"What do you mean by that?"
Aakriti opened and closed she mouth, but did not say anything. No, to be more specific it was like she was trying hard to control her emotions.
But still tears started forming in her eyes, she was just a little child after all.
".. it's all their..doing.." *hiccup* "they...took away...our house."
Anashvar hugged his sister and patted her head.
" I will explain."
He tilted his head a bit downwards, so his expression wasn't visible.
" Our father owned a large business of selling materials made from dungeon byproducts. We had a very wealthy and happy family.
When our parents died in a car accident, our uncles and aunts all wanted their share in the business and our wealth.
The car crash was very bad everything was completely destroyed and burned, it was difficult for police to determine the exact number of people who were originally in the car.
They locked us up and told the police that all of us were in that car, that we were on a family trip.
One of our uncles is a famous A- ranked Mage from the White Tigers guild. His name is Bhakshak Dheer.
He has connections with the police, once he had made his statements nobody dared to question it. "
As Blaze continued to listen, his expression worsened and his frown deepened.
Anashvar continued his voice was shaking a little.
"They held a funeral for both of us and our parents and stole our father's business, his wealth and our home.
They kept us locked away in the basement. They kept us alive for some reason, sometimes they would feed us leftovers and sometimes they would not feed us for days.
The uncles and aunts would come to beat us , when they had to went their anger.
This went on for weeks, but one day we found an opportunity to escape.
We could only live like runaways, on the streets. If they had found us, they would have killed us."
The hand which was holding his sister tightened and his voice became lower and lower as he reached the end of his sentence.
Blaze had gotten up from the sofa and had arrived in front of them at some point. He bent down and pulled the two into a hug.
Anashvar felt warmth from Blaze and burst into tears, Aakriti who had been crying since earlier began weeping.
*Sniff*
"Damn...it..! I could not ...even take care of the, only family I had left."
Now, Anashvar's body was shaking as well.
Blaze patted his back.
"No. You protected her well. I know that you have done your best. Don't hold back, cry and let it all out."
Blaze let them both lean on his chest and cry. He closed his eyes and used heal on both of them.
Their old wounds and bruises healed.
When Blaze sensed that Anashvar was all better, he focused on concentrating his mana on Aakriti.
They remained in that position for a while.
Only when the sobbing and sniffing sounds stopped, did Blaze slowly loosen his hands.
They both felt Blaze's hands around them loosen and looked up at him.
The siblings' pale faces were tear stained, but their eyes were not as lifeless as before.
"How are you both feeling?"
They had not realised that they were not feeling painful any longer, till Blaze asked them this question.
Before Anashvar could answer that question, Aakriti had turned towards him and pulled on his sleeve.
She said cheerfully.
"My stomach is not hurting anymore, big brother."
Blaze sighed from relief after hearing her.
"Looks like 'heal' worked, but still I will get a doctor to check up on you later, just to be sure."
She nodded.
Anashvar was so shocked and relieved that his voice got struck in his throat for a moment.
"..thank you. Thank you...very much."
He stopped expressing his gratitude and spoke after hesitating for a few seconds.
"But ..why? Why would do something like this for us? What would you gain from this...? There is nothing in this world that comes for free. Is there something that you want from us?"
Blaze was at a loss for words. Then he looked like he was seriously contemplating something for a few minutes.
"Hm... something that I want..?"
Anashvar tensed a bit after looking at Blaze seriously thinking about his question.
"I do have something that I want from you guys."
Anashvar gulped.
{Right. There is no way that he just helped us out because of the goodness of his heart but he still saved Aakriti so I will try to fulfill whatever he asks of us, to pay him back.}
He felt a bit disappointed, he had believed Blaze was different from other people but he was wrong.
However, what Blaze said next left him dumbfounded.
Anashvar could only blankly ask back.
"...you want us to..what?"
Merry Christmas in advance, my dear readers.
