Welcoming the Guests

"I thought she proclaimed to be resting in a five star hotel on her mission with Lila."

"That was a lie?"

One of her loyal goons came up to her.

"Chief, is that true?"

Gilga rolled her eyes before lightly sighing. "My truth doesn't matter."

"Needless to say, I have a plan to stop them from pursuing any further." I proudly claimed. "You should probably lead your team to the whereabouts of Headlamp 9 to make sure that they have settled their problem there."

Gilga closed her eyes, and sighed once again before stroking her bangs. "Ergh, you're that Faust from the Hunter Gathering, I trust you."

"I appreciate the trust."

Gilga turned her back. "We will pay for your good deeds later. If you made it out alive, that is."

She dragged her giant cleaver on the ground, not caring about anything after knowing that her selfless attempt was failed by me. Lila though, a great pain could be seen on her face after she spectated the cleaver that she maintained was continuously colliding with the uneven ground.

Lila and the other few showed their appreciation with a bow. Without much words, the last 11 members of the Streetlight Talon departed from this area.

"I'll give this as an extra. Did you see this, Dunkrieg?" I subconsciously chuckled. "If you're, don't forget to reserve some spot for the unlucky bastards that will be joining next."

There was no time to waste, so I immediately proceeded with my plan the moment they were gone from my vision. 10 minutes was enough to make up something.

With an alright preparation, I'm ready to receive the guests.

Every barrier was destroyed, and the vision of every Syndicate's nightmare could be seen within my frame, slowly taking a full form with every second passed.

Marching deftly, it was a group of 12 death harbinger.

The vibration of their boots echoed, and their wills manifested into a heavy air on their surrounding, silencing everything that dared to be in their path.

Each of them were taller than three meters. All hanged by a garish black and yellow jacket, on their black suit and brown tie. The insignia of a black two-headed bird with red eyes and claws was plastered on the yellow frame of their suit's left chest.

Various weapons could be seen on them. From a large handheld cannon to a halberd, with every single one of their backs carrying a gigantic two-handed sword called the Zweihander. Some of those large swords were emitting a visible red smoke to the air as a sign of being used.

If that alone were called overgeared, they were also equipped with four short swords strapped on their waist called the Katzbalger.

Of course, there was a reason why they always brought 4 Katzbalger.

Each of those were its very own MIND with different power and usage.

The most feared units of the Landsknecht Association.

They were.

The Doppelsoldners

"Lila."

"Yes, Chief?"

"You seem to know about the Mediator of the Hunter Gatherers. Do you think that he can survive?"

"Absolutely! While his eternal smile is creepy, Mr. Faust is really cunning and wicked! He isn't as strong as you, but he won't do something without a proper plan and calculation!"

"Huh, I heard that he is somewhat of a menace. Didn't know that he is that high in your assessment."

"Of course! He was the man who taught me everything I needed to know to survive at the Lowstreet, after all."

"Can I trust him?"

That conversation was probably happening at this moment. From the personality and faces that I saw at first glance, it was not a hard thing to imagine that they were probably questioning my capability.

'Where did he get this confidence? Where did he get this courage?' Even if they didn't speak a single word about me, there was not a chance, deep within their heart, to be free from doubt and conflict about their actions.

Humans were such fragile things after all.

Thankfully enough, I have the time and willpower to move away all of the 12 dead bodies of the other Landsknechts and wipe the blood off from my spear before they reach my location face to face.

Just in case that the Doppelsoldner won't immediately lunge their weapons at me after identifying me as a threat.

"This is Rotte Zwei of the Landsknecht Association," said one of the three-meters tall female members of the group of Doppelsoldners in front of me. "Unknown individual, are you affiliated by a Syndicate named Streetlight Talon, by any chance?"

"Halt, Heidi." The tallest person on the utmost front gestured his hand.

11 Doppelsoldner took two steps back, letting the man, with defined short golden hair and puffy beard of the same color, forward. He then crossed both of his arms in front of his chest.

Both of us were one and a half meters away from one another. I needed to look up so that our gaze met with each other. His gleaming blue eyes stayed sharp and deadly as ever.

I subconsciously gripped my spear tighter. "Hans the Golden Beard, the Claw of the Sky, the Brave Rottmeister, and the Mane of Wolpertinger. Heh, it seems like your weapon has only been getting better at doing what it was told to than the 'you' from four years ago."

Many of the Doppelsoldner seemed to be agitated by my insolent attitude, but they held back as their leader hadn't made any reaction.

Hans then opened his mouth. His voice was coarse and gritty, yet carefree with his tone, as if the situations and his mission didn't matter to him as much.

"Faust the Preacher, the Wandering Fool, the Mediator of the Hunters Gathering, and the Freakish Leprechaun." He took a deep breath, before replacing his frowned face with an arched smile. "I see that you're still as crazy as ever. Albeit that I want to converse in regard to the old time, I still have an extra task given by the Chrysaetos to abide by."

"I guess that the Streetlight Talon happens to be within that list?"

Golden Beard is better than Golden Mustache
