During the rest of the drive, Roxy and Declan talked to each other to catch up on their two years apart. Unlike the previous atmosphere, which was filled with an eerie silence, the atmosphere between them had completely melted away.
Even though it was past midnight and Roxy was starting to feel drowsy, she never allowed herself to fall asleep.
Declan realized that Roxy had yawned several times and asked her to rest, but Roxy refused.
In the end, he let Roxy accompany him and talked a little longer.
At four o'clock in the morning, they entered the city they were aiming for, and that's when Declan turned on the signpost to an address.
"Are you still not going to tell me where we're going?"
"To a family member's house. I've never met her before, and I don't know her name either."
"How can you not know your own family?"
Declan laughed softly as he answered, "You'll understand later."
