XIX - Departure and the Long Way Home

A/N: This chapter is the start of Riku's "Normal" life arc, after this arc is the "Road to The International Arc".

Hakugyoku Hotel Stockholm Branch – Main Lobby

May 21, 2021 – Friday - 8:00 P.M.

Riku POV

After the podcast finished and finished eating our dinner, grandfather told me that we are to leave Stockholm immediately, which caught me off guard. I asked him why and he said it's due to the tight schedule that the plane he used to get here with Mafuyu.

And another reason that he stated was because normally the travel time between Stockholm and Tokyo will take at least 15 hours. But with the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the plane will have to go the long way around to avoid potential crossfire.

Grandfather also said that the flight will be a double flight as the plane will take a quick pit stop in Los Angeles to re-stock on supplies and onto Tokyo from there which will take a full day of travel in total.

I told my band that I'm leaving now and shared them the details, and we said our goodbyes and I told them that I'll be waiting for them in Japan. I also said my goodbyes to the other bands and they gave me some souvenirs along the way in which I was very thankful for them. The tournament organizer ESL gave me a replica of the trophy that we won and told me that Yuragi and the others get one too. A fine addition to my collection.

Right now, I'm waiting at the main lobby for the girls to come here. Grandfather informed Youmu to tell the girls that we are leaving immediately. And a few minutes later, the girls have arrived with their suitcases.

Kyoya: I'm sorry to say this on short notice, but our flight to Japan leaves tonight. I'm sure Youmu have explained the details along the way.

The girls nodded as Kyoya turns to the entrance door.

Kyoya: Good. The busses are here. You girls will take the second bus and me, Riku and the other Celestial families along with the Scarlet family will go to the first bus.

We go to our bus as we let the staff handle our luggage and after 5 minutes, the busses left the hotel on its way to the airport. And before we head to the airport, we made a quick stop at the fish market to get the fish that I reserved for Chen. Ran-san thanked me for giving Chen some fish.

30 minutes later

Stockholm Arlanda Airport - 8:30 P.M.

We have reached the airport in just a few minutes and went straight to the runway. Grandfather says that he used a private jet to come here. And the moment we got off the bus and saw the plane that we're riding, all of us were just dumbfounded on how big the plane was.

(A/N: You know MrBeast's video. The one with the $1 plane ticket vs $500,000 plane ticket? I'm using that one as a reference, but this time the plane is at least 2.5x bigger than the one in the video.)

The girls' reaction seeing this...well.....

Kasumi: Wow!! It's so big!!

Tae: That's what she said.

Arisa: OI!!!

Aya: Isn't this....way too big?

Ran: *sigh* good grief.

Tomoe: Is this normal to them Ran?

Ran: To nii-san, no. But to his grandfather, yes.

Kanon: Fueeeeeeeeeee...

Chiyu: They did it again....

Masuki: Again?

Chiyu: Don't ask.

Riku: Grandfather...what is this?

Kyoya: This is one of the few joint projects that we Celestial Families have in mind for the past years. The Matara had suggested this 5 years ago. It was a joint effort and the plane was finished last month, and I get to test it first.

Riku: Tell me, how much did you all spent to make this?

Kyoya: Hmm...my estimates will be.....at least $50,000,000 to make this.

We all froze in place with the exception of Yuyuko-san, Satori-san and Eirin-san. Did I hear that right? They spent $50,000,000 on this?

Riku: How much did our family contributed to this?

Kyoya: I gave at least $5,000,000 on the Nagae family's behalf.

Good. It's just 5 million. if we only gave 5 million....then the other families must've gave more than they normally should.

Riku: What about you Yuyuko-san? How much did the Saigyouji spent?

Yuyuko: The same as your family Riku-kun. But Satori-chan gave 10 million for the project and Eirin gave 8 million.

Riku: What about the Hakurei? Giving their situation....

Eirin: The Hakurei were in charge of constructing this along with the kappas. Reimu was so happy to get a job that really pays her well.

Riku: No wonder she was all smiles when I visited her when I got back in Japan last January. How much do you think will the maintenance cost will this plane get? Knowing those kappas were also involved in the project, the cost might be a bit high.

Yuyuko: By our estimates, and talking it out with Reimu. The plane's yearly maintenance will cost at least 1.5 million a year.

I was expecting a higher amount, but one and a half million can be considered a steal. I just nodded as I began to yawn and grandfather noticed it.

Kyoya: Let's board the plane now.

3rd POV

Riku and the girls followed Kyoya as they boarded the plane. The moment they entered the plane, the girls were mesmerized by the plane's interior design.

Kyoya: Take Riku to one of the rooms. He needs his rest.

Staff: Understood Kyoya-sama.

One of the stewards took Riku to his room so he could get some rest. Some of them noticed Riku leaving early.

Saaya: Kyoya-san, Why is Riku leaving early.

Kyoya: Riku needs his rest. I can tell that he is spent throughout the day. And he kinda deserves it.

Remilia: And whatever you do. Don't wake Riku up when he's sleeping.

By Remilia's warning, Riku's childhood friends shuddered in fear as they remember a memory that they want to forget.

Moca: Come now Remilia-san~ How bad could it be?~

Remilia stared at Moca with her blood crimson eyes glowing.

Remilia: Want to find out?

Moca shook her head as Remilia said that in a dark tone and just stepped back and hid behind Ran.

Kyoya: Anyway. Let me take you girls around the plane.

True to Kyoya's word, he gave the band girls plus the SDM girls a tour around the plane. The plane has at least 60 bed rooms with their own shower room, 3 living rooms where each room can fit at least 20 people, 2 dining rooms, an entertainment and gaming room, 3 music rooms, 3 studios where they can practice their music, a mini library, an infirmary, a small gym, a bar and a spa. And this plane is being run by 4 pilots and at least 200 person crew.

Remilia: No wonder this plane is worth 50 million.

Kyoya: It my be expensive, but it's worth it. The stewards will guide you girls to your rooms. And after that, you can do what you want. Just don't go overboard.

And with that, the stewards took the girls and brought them to their rooms. After that, the girls went to wherever they wanted to go. Roselia , Raise A Suilen and Pastel*Palettes went straight to the studios to to see what they can do, Poppin'Party and Afterglow went to the music room, Satori went to sleep in her room almost immediately, Eirin went to the infirmary along with Udongein. Koishi, Flandre and Hello, Happy World! went to the entertainment room with Rin, Utsuho and Meiling joining them. Remilia went to the mini library along with Sakuya, Youmu is at the plane's kitchen and Kyoya, Yuyuko and Ran(Yakumo) were at the bar.

The three ordered some drinks. Not that strong to make them wasted though as they still have a lot of things to do. As they were drinking, Ran asked Kyoya regarding her sister's situation.

Y. Ran: Kyoya-sama, what's nee-sama's situation?

Kyoya: Hmmm...she's sent me a message before the finals started. She told me that the meeting of the Four Fangs has begun. After that, she left me hanging.

Yuyuko: I know Yukari can handle herself but.....I'm worried that something might happen to her.

Yuyuko says in worry. Yuyuko and Yukari go WAY back, they were the best of friends and at the same time, they treat themselves as sisters.

Kyoya: She said that there is nothing to worry about....if all goes well...she might've not needed to intervene.

Yuyuko: I'll hold you on that.....I want to ask Kyoya-san. Were you involved in Japan getting to host TI this year?

Kyoya: I merely suggested it to the Prime Minister. I didn't expect him to do it outright. He called me after the video ended and he said that along with Japan, the other countries that had a chance to host TI this year are Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines.

Y. Ran: How was the decision made?

Kyoya: A bidding war. The starting bid was 20 million in US dollars. Philippines started the bid at 30 million, then Thailand followed it up to 45 million. The bid between them lasted for several minutes until Singapore stepped in and bid 80 million which the two countries can't counter.

Yuyuko: Then how did Japan get the win? How much did the Prime minister bid?

Kyoya: He....bid 100 million.

Yuyuko/Y.Ran: 100 MILLION?!

Yuyuko: That's nearly 15% of the country's budget!!

Y. Ran: Where did the Prime Minister get that money?

Kyoya: *sigh*....it was not the Prime Minister who provided it...it was his majesty.

Ran and Yuyuko were shocked to hear that the emperor himself bid 100 million just to host a music tournament in Japan.

Y. Ran: But why?

Kyoya: I may have an idea but...I need to confirm it first before telling you. I just can't assume things quickly. But whatever the reason why his majesty did that, will be revealed in due time. All we can do right now.....is wait.

Yuyuko: Hmmmm~ if you say so...

Kyoya: Yuyuko....regarding Mafuyu....she'll be transferring to Hanasakigawa once we get back to Japan.

Yuyuko: Then I'll handle her paperwork. But still.....I can't believe Miku-chan had another kid...I know you told me this beforehand....but it's still unbelievable.

Kyoya: She wanted to tell you, but you know how Honoka is....to keep her secret safe, she will do anything to protect our name.

Yuyuko: How did Riku-kun take it?

Kyoya: He took it surprisingly well, and he accepted her already. And I'm glad that both of them are on the same page. I'm glad that Mafuyu also aspires to be a musician.

Yuyuko: Ara~ I guess music really flows in their veins~

Kyoya: I suppose so...

Y. Ran: Speaking of Riku, how is he right now?

Kyoya: I checked on him a little while ago and he seems to be fine. One more.

Kyoya just asked the bartender for one more glass as they travel from Stockholm to Los Angeles.

Meanwhile with Riku

Riku's Mindscape

We go to Riku's mindscape and we see Riku inside the Dragon Palace along with Iku having tea together.

Iku: First of all, I want to congratulate on your win Riku.

Riku: Thank you very much for the praise. Although, I'm still wondering why you called me here.

Iku: I want to talk about this.

Iku pointed at Tenshi that is sleeping in a futon peacefully.

Iku: With the stunt that you and Tenshi did, she used 60% of the energy that she stored through the years.

Riku: That much? She only manifested for about a minute or so. I thought she would require less energy to do so.

Iku: That would be the case if the person is used to it. But for her, this was the first time she'd done it.

Riku: How long till she wakes up though?

Iku: I took a look at her, and I can estimate that she'll be waking up before autumn starts.

Riku: So it's around September...

Iku just nodded as she sips her tea.

Iku: And since she's appeared on live TV.....I'm sure her brother also saw her. How are you going to explain this to Aichi?

Riku: That will depend on him. And I still have Kaguya to deal with.

Iku: Yes...She and Tenshi are very close.....almost identical in personality so to say....

Riku: Personality wise.....yes. But let's not forget, Tenshi is an outgoing extrovert and Kaguya is a full-on NEET.

Iku: Not sugarcoating at all at Kaguya aren't you? Ufufufufufu~....Anyway, I saw from here that you made a new spell a few days ago. How about we have a spar. I want to see how much you've grown.

Riku: You want me to fight you? I don't mind. Which format are we using? Spell Cards or Spell Combat?

Iku: We'll do the second option. You can go out ahead and prepare.

Riku just followed Iku's order and went out ahead of her. As Riku left, Iku went to the sleeping Tenshi and just sighed.

Iku: Good grief. I know you wanted to perform with Riku...

Iku just smiled as she knelt down and lightly caressed Tenshi's hair.

Iku: I guess your bond is as strong as ever.....although you butt heads most of the time. Luckily you finished the job I gave you before this happens so that's plus.

Iku got up and grabbed her veil and her hat as she leaves the room.

Outside of the Dragon Palace

Riku was stretching his body to prepare his sparring match with Iku. As Riku was about to finish his stretches, Iku descended lightly in front of him.

Iku: I hope I didn't make you wait. I had to make a soundproof barrier around Tenshi. 

Riku: Nah. I just finished my routine.

Iku: Good. let's get started.

Iku covered herself in lightning and Riku followed suit as they go in their stances.

Iku: Ready?

Riku: As always.

And at that exchange, the two dashed at each other and their fight began.

Several hours later

Riku POV

My spar with Iku lasted for several hours and we just finished. Right now I'm lying on the ground as I'm dead tired. I did everything I know to fight her and I can't land a single hit on her, as she was dodging most of my punches, kicks and sometimes my lightning attacks perfectly, and she's just there standing and not even breaking a sweat.

Iku: After our spar, I finally get your style. I can see the elegance of your moves it correlates to how we Nagae fight. But your movements are a bit stiff. You need to work on that one you wake up.

Riku: I'll take note of that. But I don't get it....I know I can land a few hits on you....yet you dodge them effortlessly.

Iku: I guess your Kenbunshoku is still lacking. For that, you need to fight stronger opponents. How about fighting the Watatsuki sisters? They could be a fine match for you?

Riku: Yorihime and Toyohime vs me? No thank you. I don't want to die early. Toyohime gave me a hard time just by herself. Yorihime nearly cooked me, no way in hell that I'll win if those two team up. I would rather fight in a gauntlet match than face those two at the same time.

Iku: Ufufufufufu~ a gauntlet match might be a good idea....I guess it's time for you to wake up.

Riku: I guess so. Thanks for the spar. I really appreciate it.

Iku; No problem. Now do take care of yourself.

I nodded at her and slowly disappear as I wake up from my sleep.

Now back to reality

I opened my eyes and see myself lying in a bed. I got up and peeked through the window and I can see it's bright. I got off of the bed and started some stretching, the door opens only to see Youmu.

Youmu: Riku-kun, you've woken up. How's your sleep?

Riku: It was a nice rest. How was everything while I was asleep?

Youmu: Nothing much....it's just Yuyuko-sama nearly emptied the plane's food supply.

Riku: Why am I not surprised....any idea where are we now?

Youmu: Kyoya-sama was informed that we're at least an hour before we land in Los Angeles to re-stock on supplies.

Riku: I see...tell to the staff that is in-charge of re-stocking to double the amount of food, we may not last till we make it to Japan because Yuyuko-san emptying the food pantry.

Youmu: I....I see.....I'll tell this to Kyoya-sama right away. Oh right, Yukina-san, Kasumi-san and Chiyu-san are waiting for you at the 3rd living room.

Riku: They are? Alright, I'll be there as soon as I finish getting changed.

Youmu left and closed the door...now then, what do they want from me?

Later in the 3rd Living Room

After changing my clothes, I went to the 3rd living room as Youmu said. And as I enter, Kasumi-san, Arisa-san, Yukina-san, Lisa-san, Chu² and Reona are already there.

Riku: Sorry I made you girls wait.

Lisa: Don't mind Riku~. We're just glad that you made it.

Riku: Alright, what's the agenda?

Yukina: Here.

Yukina-san gave me two sheets of paper, and after inspecting it, it's a lyrics sheet.

Riku: So these are the songs you decided to perform?

Yukina: Hai. We decided to go with Black Shout and Brave Jewel for our performance.

Riku: And I take that Brave Jewel is the original song that you made?

Yukina-san nodded and I gave back her lyrics sheet.

Riku: Very well. What about the rest?

Chu² and Kasumi-san gave their lyric sheets to me.

Riku: So these are the songs you decided to go with Chu²?

Chiyu: EXPOSE 'Burn Out!!' and R.I.O.T. are the first two songs that I made. I was planning to use these for my band's debut in September but.....you gave me an early chance. We've been practicing these songs for weeks to make sure we get it right.

Riku: Good. I hope you don't push Rokka-san too far.

Chiyu: I'll take note of that.

Riku: Hmm.....For Poppin'Party...you chose.....

Kasumi: Hai. For PoPiPa's performance, we chose to go with Tear Drops and Time Lapse. I feel that....

Riku: You felt that this is the song that you needed to sing right?

Kasumi-san nodded as I'm focused on PoPiPa's lyric sheet.

Riku: I see...looking at the lyrics....I can tell that is the case. I'm sure Dendi and the others will like this.

Kasumi: Dendi? Who's Dendi?

Riku: Ah, right. You girls didn't know. I've only told this to Roselia and RaS. Well you see, some former TI champions will be watching by the day of the live.

Kasumi/Arisa: Eh?

Riku: Come now, no pressure. Just play as you always do, and do it from the heart. I'm sure that they'll be moved from the songs you play.

Kasumi: Thanks for the advice senpai.

Riku: Good....by the way...where are the others?

Lisa: They're at the entertainment/gaming room right now. Why?

Riku: Well the plane is a bit quiet and-

*DING DONG* *DING DONG*

Pilot: May I have your attention please, this is the pilot speaking. We're about to land in Los Angeles for re-supplying. May I ask the passengers to stay in their places as we land.

We heard the pilot in the intercom and says that we're about to land in L.A.

Lisa: We're landing in America? Why?

Riku: Normally our flight path goes through Russian airspace. But with the situation there is well....you know....

Chiyu: So they decided to take the long way around to prevent any problems right?

Riku: Yes. Although it will take another 12 hours to make it back to Tokyo from here, this is the only option that we have. It's already 1 in the afternoon and re-supply lasts an hour. So by my estimates, we'll be able to return to Japan by 2 in the morning. And I take it that you received my message right? 

The girls looked behind me and it was the pilot showed up and gave bow as a sign of respect.

Pilot: Hai Riku-sama, we have received your request from Youmu-sama. But in order to do that, the time required will be longer than expected.

Riku: How long?

Pilot: If there are no complications, we'll be able to depart at 5 in the afternoon. So for the meantime, you all got a lot of free time before we take flight.

Riku: I see. Thank you for informing this. You may return to your post, and keep up the good work.

Pilot: Thank you for the praise Riku-sama.

The pilot left and I turned to the girls.

Riku: Now we got some more time before we leave, and since Kasumi-san, Yukinsa-san and Chu² are here. I want to ask a favor for you three.

Kasumi/Yukina/Chiyu: A favor?

Riku: Call the other vocalists and meet me at my room by the next hour. I want to discuss on something.

Yukina: What do you mean?

Riku: You'll find out when you get there.

I turned back as I return to my room, but Kasumi-san called me and I stopped on my tracks as I turned around and looked at her.

Kasumi: Senpai! I want to ask you something!

Riku: Yes?

Kasumi: Is it true that you like Rinko-senpai?

The room was dead quiet and I see from the girls present that they were shocked when Kasumi-san dropped the bomb. Reona covering her hands with her mouth, Chu² face palming, Lisa-san having a smug smile, Yukina-san was well...still Yukina-san, and Arisa-san hitting Kasumi-san's head hard and bowing at me as she was apologizing for Kasumi-san's sudden question. But what made me curious was....

Riku: Why ask me that question Kasumi-san?

Kasumi: Your second song in the finals...those were your feelings for her right?

I walked towards Kasumi and Arisa-san noticed it and just backed off slowly. When I got near Kasumi-san, I stared at her violet eyes for a moment and just closed my eyes.

Riku: *sigh* Yes.....they were.... I would ask that can you keep this conversation to yourselves? I don't want for Rinko to think too much on this.

I ended the conversation and went straight to my room. And as I enter my room, I sat down by the desk and just leaned back on the chair.

Riku: Why did she ask me that?....No matter....now let's wait and see Rinko's answer...

1 Hour Later

After waiting for an hour, the door opened and the vocalist have arrived but with a few people joining us. Aya-san is with Chisato, Kokoro is with Misaki-san and Rei-san brought along Chu².

Riku: Glad you all came here. We're here to discuss something. It regards on what I said before the Group Stage started.

Kasumi: Is this the deal you made to us that you'll help us on creating a song for us?

Riku: Yes. And I want to change that deal. Instead of helping you make a new song, I want to pass on some songs to you girls.

The girls were very surprised, they didn't expect that I'm about to give them a song.

Ran: Are you sure about this nii-san? I know Tenshi-nee has her consent on this but.....

Riku: No buts Little Red. I've made my mind, and you know well that I won't change my mind once I made my choice.

Ran: Fine. But what made you decide that?

Riku: Tenshi told me to.

The girls flinched when I mentioned Tenshi. Chu² stepped forward as she asked me.

Chiyu: When did she tell you this?

Riku: Well....

Flashback(This is before OG vs Thunder Awaken's match started and Riku and Tenshi were catching up on the times)

Riku's Dreamscape

Tenshi: So those are the bands that are playing at your Live House huh?

Riku: Yeah. Some of them are still new and inexperienced, but they show potential. And I want to be the one to polish them and make them shine in the big stage someday.

Tenshi: You're speaking like a retired old man.

Riku: Can it. I AM retired....I'm just a stand-in for the band that's all. when everything is all said and done, I'm taking a step back and stay retired and I tend to keep it that way.

Tenshi: You don't want to return to play in the big stage?

Riku: I have a lot of responsibilities you know....and if the Japanese PBC gets approved this year...that will be another responsibility that will be pushed on to me. I have no time to come out of retirement once that comes to pass and I-

Tenshi said nothing and just smacked me on the head.

Riku: OW!!!!! THAT HURT!!! WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!?!?

Tenshi was looking at me with an angry face but at the same time, it show signs of worry.

Tenshi: You're doing it again! You're taking responsibility after responsibility to yourself! I thought you learned your lesson with Rinko!

Riku: But-

Tenshi: No buts! You leave that to the professionals! They have their work and you got yours! Don't pile up the work to yourself god fucking damnnit!!

I can see from her that she's worried at me....and at the same time, there were tears coming out of her eyes...shit.....I made someone cry again.....

Tenshi: Promise me! Promise me that you won't overwork yourself!

Riku: I.....I promise....

Tenshi: Good. I know you always keep your promises. And I hope you stay true to it.

Riku: Yeah....and now you said that...I'll do my best to keep it....

Tenshi: You better.....Riku....I want to give those girls something....

Riku: Tenshi...are you sure?

Tenshi: I know that you haven't trusted them fully aside from your childhood friends. But I trust them....I trust them because they care for you. Aside from your band and the other pros and us from Gensokyo, the girls are your first friends around your age. Trust me on this Riku....they're different from the ones you've met in the past.

Riku: If you say so...then what songs are you planning to give them?

Tenshi: Well.....it's all up to you....give them the ones that fits them...

Riku: Hmmmm.....I'll see what I can do.

End of Flashback

Riku: That's basically it.

Ran: Hmph....as expected from Tenshi-nee.

Chiyu: You really need some people that can loosen your load.

Riku: You're one to talk.

Chiyu: Hey!

Yukina: Moving on....Tenshi-san said that she wanted to give us a song....which song though?

Riku: Actually not all of them are not Tenshi's songs, some of them are my songs as well.

The vocalists eyes widen as they heard that not only they get Tenshi's songs, but my songs as well.

Aya: Wait....your songs as well?

Riku: Got a problem with that? Like I said, I've made my choice. As for the songs that I'm about to give you....I've chosen them as I've observed everything from our daily lives for the past month. And I've concluded that these songs fits your band the best. Kasumi, step forward.

Arisa(thoughts): Did Riku-san called Kasumi with no honorifics?

Kasumi stepped forward as I gave her a sheet of paper. When Kasumi saw it, she protested as she already know what song I gave her.

Kasumi: Riku-senpai! Are you sure you want to give this to me?!

Arisa: What's wrong Kasumi?

Kasumi just gave the paper to Arisa and the same as Kasumi, Arisa also voiced her opinion.

Arisa: Riku-san, are you sure you want to give Monster to PoPiPa?

Riku: Yes. I feel that this song will go far if it's you. I'm sure Tenshi will say the same. Ran.

Ran was next, and I just smiled as I gave her the lyrics sheet.

Ran: Hated by Life Itself...what is this song nii-san?

Riku: This song is one of the most unique ones that I've made. The thing is, I haven't sang this even once.

Ran: Eh? But why give it to me?

Riku: Because I know that you can sing this the way it was meant to be sang. A high voice with a mature tone and pure raw emotion, and you're the perfect candidate for this. I know you can nail this song, and I fully trust you with this.

Ran looked at the lyrics sheet one more time and looked at me with a very determined face.

Ran: I'll make you proud nii-san.

Riku: I know you will. Aya, you're up next.

Aya stepped forward as Ran took a step back. I looked at Aya and just sighed.

Riku: Allow me to be blunt Aya. At first, I have no idea what an idol is.

Aya was shaken a bit and I can see that she was about to cry.

Riku: Now hear me out before you let the waterworks out. When I said I have no idea what an Idol is I really meant that. I was only focused on the band and ignoring mostly everything. That was until I got back in Japan in January. There was one time when me and the old OG were visiting at Akiba, where we see several billboards and it has several idols on it. That piqued my curiosity, so I had to research on idols and I understood why it became popular.

Aya: Then...

Riku: Yes. And I can see why you strive to become an idol. And that's why.....I decided to pass this on to you.

I gave Aya the lyric sheet and she was so shocked she nearly dropped the paper to the floor.

Aya: Riku-kun! This song!

Riku: I can safely say that Yoru ni Kakeru is the best choice for your band.

Arisa: Hold up. You're giving them that song?

Riku: I chose this for Pastel*Palettes is to give them some diversity. Call it as a wild card in your arsenal. An idol's songs are a part of their appeal. Imagine a group of cutesy idols singing something dark, the fans will surely not expect it.

Aya: Then I will not disappoint you by giving me this Riku-kun! I will try my best to give this song justice!

Chiasto: Aya-chan.....

Riku: Don't need to go that far. Now then, Kokoro.

Kokoro: Onii-chan. About that...i want something else instead of the song.

I raised a brow as to see that Kokoro rejected what I want to give her. This is the first time that she'd done this.

Riku: If you don't want the song I'm about to give you, what is it that you really want?

Kokoro: I want you to have a collab with HaroHapi!

What? A collab?...you know what.....that's a great idea. Looking at Kokoro who is still smiling, I can see that she is serious. I looked at Misaki and she just nodded and telling me to go with it. And I can see the other vocalists faces that they were caught off guard to Kokoro's statement. I can tell that in their minds they're saying "Why didn't I think of this sooner?".

Riku: Sure. But the question is...can you girls keep up with me?

Kokoro: If we can put our heart and mind into it, we can keep up with you!

Riku: Hopefully you can keep that energy of yours till then. And as for you girls, your chance to collab with me will come soon. It's just that Kokoro got ahead of ya'll. Yukina.

Yukina stepped forward as I crossed my arms.

Riku: To be completely honest, I have no clue what to give your band. Your band can be considered complete. Your songs are comparable to most pros. It took me a long while to think of a song to give you, but I'd like to give you this.

I gave the lyrics sheet to Yukina and as she saw it, she closed her eyes and nodded.

Riku: And I know that Roselia will do the work with Hibana.

Yukina: You think so?

Riku: I know so. Rei, Chu². I know that you and your band are not a part of the agreement that I made with them, but I want to do at least something for your band.

Chiyu: Oh? Okay, I'll bite.

Riku: How about this. Once Roselia's first live is finished, allow me to help you girls to-

Chiyu: Deal.

Riku: Wow. You agreed before I even finished. 

Chiyu: Cause I know what you're about to say. And no way in hell that I'm letting this slip up.

*knock* *knock* *knock*

I heard the door knocking and the girls turned towards the door.

Riku: It's open, you can come in.

The door opened and it was my half-sister Mafuyu.

Mafuyu: Nii-san, I hope I didn't disturb you.

Riku: It's okay, we just finished what we need to do. You need something?

Mafuyu: Actually, when I first met grandfather, he said that you were also a pianist. And if it's okay with you....can you...

I stood up from my desk and went to Mafuyu and pat her head.

Riku: Of course. Meet me at the second music room and we'll go from there.

Mafuyu nodded and left the room and I turned around and faced the girls.

Riku: Well that's that. You girls can go back to what you were doing, I gotta help Mafuyu.

Kasumi: We understand senpai. As a fellow older sibling, you have to be with your younger sibling when they need you.

Riku: Yes...I suppose so....is something wrong Misaki?

Misaki: I don't know how to say this Riku-san but....seeing Mafuyu-san just now...her face seems to be.....fake?

The girls were confuse on what did Misaki meant by "fake".

Riku: So you noticed as well? From what my grandfather said to me, Mafuyu was raised very strictly. To a point where her mother was in literal control of her life and she has no say on anything. So everyday, she has to put up with it and I can tell that it's killing her on the inside.

The girls looked me dead in the eye and from their faces, they aren't buying it.

Chiyu: If her mother is that strict, why does her father haven't done anything?

Riku: I don't know....from what I read from the reports, her mother must've some kind of leverage on him. Maybe that's why he can't do a thing for Mafuyu.

Chisato: To think that she wears that kind of mask...

Riku: She wears that mask so she can hide her true self.....and the only thing that can be considered her safe place.....is music.

Yukina: So she's inclined to music as well?

Riku: Yeah. She had her own group and she's the composer.

Arisa: What's the name of her group?

Riku: 25-ji Nightcord de.

Yukina: That group?

Kasumi: You know them Yukina-senpai?

Yukina: *nods* A very mysterious music circle that always appear at exactly 1:00 A.M.. The identities of each member are shrouded in mystery....I didn't expect that your sister is a member of that elusive group.

Riku: Neither do I. I only found out that Mafuyu was a member when grandfather pointed it out. And apparently, he met all members while they were still in Japan when the Future World Fes main stage started.

Ran: Seems like you two are interested in their group....are they good?

Me and Yukina looked at each other and just nodded.

Yukina: They're good. Their music is nothing to scoff at. Even I was impressed.

Riku: Although most of their songs can be considered dark once you hear them for the first time, they actually were sending a message to give hope to people.

Chisato: So they create music to inspire people and spread awareness...two birds in one stone.

Riku: Yes. I should go. I don't want Mafuyu waiting for me. You girls can do what you want, just don't break anything please. Misaki, Arisa, Chisato, Chu², keep an eye on them.

Misaki: Don't need to ask.

Seeing them agreed to it, I left my room and went to the second music room where Mafuyu is at and I can hear that she's already playing.

Riku: Sorry it took a while.

Mafuyu: It's okay, I was just warming up.

Riku: If you say so. Now then...what do you need help with?

Mafuyu: Well...

Several hours later

In the middle of the Pacific Ocean - 10:30 P.M.

Riku's Room

Several hours passed after I helped Mafuyu with her piano, I'm back in my room checking the aftermath of the Future World Fes. Regarding Mafuyu's skill level in playing the piano, it's equal to Rinko and Reona. Though she claimed that she was self-taught, I cannot brush way the fact that she had that much talent. There was one glaring issue to her and it's her speed. It appears Mafuyu doesn't take fast pace piano pieces very well. I gave her one of the fast pace piano pieces that I am very fond of, and tell her to play it slow at first and go fast as she goes until she gets the hang of it. Surprisingly, she's a fast learner but she needs to work on her stamina...

After helping Mafuyu on her issues on the piano, the plane is finally re-supplied and took off at 5. One of the staff informed me that the plane is now fully supplied and as I instructed, the food supply ordered is doubled. And that gives me an idea. I called Ran-san and Youmu to help me out with this and when dinner time rolled in, I surprised everyone with a feast that I planned to throw out for my win in the Future World Fes, and as usual, Yuyuko-san ate nearly half of the food I made.....good lord I made extras.

As I was scrolling to the news, the announcement of TI being in Japan is the trending worldwide. As for the moves of the bands before the summer tour begins, I see that Team Secret made some big changes to their roster. Removing iceiceice and replacing him with Resolut1on at drums and YapZor had to leave the band due to his sickness, W_Zayac will replace him as the bands bassist. For Entity, they picked up Pure, a guitarist from Russia who got into an argument with his old band, resulting in kicking him out. And so far, there are no other adjustments from the other bands.

After browsing, I returned to my work. I looked through the files that Nitori sent me and it was the expenses on the project that I'm currently working on. I asked both Nitori and Takane to work on this and to give me a report once I return, from one of the files, it says that they hired Yuugi for additional support and that will cost me extra. I looked at the total and it's not that deep. Just $600,000 no big deal. I mean with all the bettings that I won and my share of the prizepool, I think that will cover the expenses.

While I was doing my work, I received several messages. I opened my message box and it's a message from Reimu, Marisa, Miyoi, Sanae, Yuugi, and Keigo. Congratulating me for winning the Future World Fes. I noticed that I have some messages from Aichi and Kaguya as well. I know that they want answers, and I'm gonna tell them.....once they're ready.

After I finished my work, I looked through the list of the groups that Yukina and the others chose to play at CiRCLE.

Sayo chose Crychic personally for their vocalists unique voice. But all of a sudden, their band disbanded for no reason. I decided to not delve further into this as this is much more of a personal matter. And as a result of their disbandment, Their spot was filled by Raise A Suilen.

For Lisa, she chose Peaky P-Key which surprised me at first as this is a DJ group.

Riku: A DJ group in Yoba Academy. So they go the same school as Keigo. Interesting.....let's see the members.....Yamate Kyoko...Sasago Jennifer Yuuka....Shimizu Esora...Esora huh? Didn't expect her to be a part of a DJ group. I mean she is a great dancer and all.....she must be the choreographer of the group and....Inuyose Shinobu? Ah her....I remember.....

Reading Shinobu's name made me remember my first meeting with her. It was the time I left OG back in 2018. It was several months after my parents and Tenshi's death and Yuyuko-san talking it out to continue my career, I planned to expand my knowledge in modern music and I decided to start it off with DJ...and as to why? Because I felt like it. 

I asked my grandfather if there are any DJ's that can provide me some instructions, and surprisingly he recommended me to Inuyose Dennojo, one of the best DJ's in his generation and which also happens to be my grandfather's childhood friend. From October to January, I learned what there is to know about being a DJ from him and he was impressed on how fast I was in learning he even tried to pair me up with his granddaughter. In which I rejected immediately. And on the last day of February, Dennojo-san gave me one last test to prove my self in DJ. And that is playing one of his hardest tracks, in which I played very well and got his approval. When Shinobu heard my play from the other side, she slammed the door open and outright challenged me.

Flashback - February 28, 2019

Shinobu: I challenge you!

The little girl named Shinobu pointed her finger at me as she outright challenged me.

Riku: Excuse me? Why would you want to challenge me?

Shinobu: I heard from my grandfather that your skills in the turntable is the same level as mine, even if you're just a beginner. And I want to be the judge of that.

I looked at Dennojo-san and he just nodded.

Riku: Well you're grandfather said yes....let's do it....a best of 1. my flight leaves tonight so we have to make it a quick one.

Shinobu: Fine.

Little long than a few minutes later...

The match was finished and Shinobu was kneeling on the ground as she was staring at the floor in shock.

Shinobu: I...I lost....

Dennojo: Shinobu. Don't let that dishearten you. Use this loss as a starting point to become better. Remember, failure is just a part of the process.

Shinobu: I....I understand.

Shinobu got up on her feet and looked at me and I can see the flame in her eyes.

Shinobu: You may have beaten me, but I won't just mope around and do nothing. I'll become better and one of these days, I'll beat you.

Riku: I'll be looking forward to it.

Me and Shinobu shook hands as a sign of friendship while Dennojo-san was smiling at what he's seeing right now.

End of Flashback 

Riku: Hmmmmm.....been a long while since I seen that little girl. I wonder if she's become better like she said.

Moving on.....Rinko and Ako chose Leo/Need. A band from Miyamasuzuka Girls Academy, the former school where Mafuyu used to attend to. From the info that I got from those two, these four are childhood friends.... Hoshino Ichika, Mochizuki Honami, Tenma Saki and Hinomori Shiho. So they're the same as Ran. But what interests me is that this band has a Virtual Singer, which will be a huge hit once the live starts. And this virtual singer....if it is what I think it is...then this can't be considered a coincidence.

And lastly.....Yukina picked Poppin'Party. For the past year, Yukina has been keeping a close eye on Kasumi's progress and they show signs of growth but.....they're still lacking. But if Yukina trusts them, then I'll trust them as well.

So the list of bands will be Leo/Need, Peaky P-Key, Raise A Suilen, Poppin'Party and Roselia. A total of 5 bands.....an all girls group to boot...I looked at the time an it's already nearly 11. Better get some rest. It'll be a busy day tomorrow.

Several hours later

Haneda Airport Runway - Tokyo, Japan - May 22, 2021 - Saturday - 6:30 A.M.

3rd POV

After several hours in the air and 2 flights in one day, the plane that Riku and the others are have finally landed at the Haneda Airport Runway. And right on time, they've just finished their breakfast before the plane landed.

As everyone was getting down from the plane with Kyoya leading the group, they were welcomed by a man waiting for them along with 2 busses, and the man bowed as he say Kyoya.

Eiji: Welcome back oyakata-sama.

Kyoya: Yes, I have returned Eiji. And so as Riku.

Eiji looked at Riku as he congratulated him for his win at Stockholm.

Eiji: Welcome back Riku-sama. And congratulations on your band's victory. Me and the staff watched the finals and it was spectacular.

Riku: Thanks for the praise Eiji-san. Since you're here on time, I take that everything is in order right?

Eiji: Yes. All preparations have been made for your return and the guest rooms are all set.

Kyoya: Good. now let the staff take our luggage as soon as possible.

Eiji: It shall be done. Men, you heard the master.

As Eiji snapped his fingers, several men in black suits pulled up and starts to take everyone's luggage and puts them in the storage compartment.

Riku decided to take the bus where the other band girls are along with Mafuyu. Riku looked at the girls and some of them are still a bit sleepy even after eating breakfast earlier on.

Riku: I see some of you are still a bit drowsy.....get some rest till we reach my place.

The girls looked at Riku almost immediately and it made them wide awake.

Kasumi: We're going to your house senpai?

Riku: Yes. My grandfather planned this once I return from Stockholm. And to some of you, this will be the first time you'll be visiting my home.

Tomoe: You're right about that. Ran, how big is Riku's house?

Ran: It's not his house is big Tomoe....it's the land that you need to worry.

Himari: Is it that big?

Ran: Ask nii-san.

Riku: It's better for you to see rather than telling you.

Lisa: Rinko, you've been at Riku's home right?

Rinko: I did. I've been there several times...

Hagumi: Do you go to Rikkun's home as well Kokoron?

Kokoro: I always visit onii-chan every week.

Kanon: What about you Kaoru-san?

Kaoru: Only a few times. Me and Chisato go there when we needed help before ani-sama left for France.

Chisato: I wanted to disagree with Kaoru, but yes. The two of us went there a few times. But just to remind you girls, be ready for what's to come.

Rokka: What about you Chu²-san?

Chiyu: Iku's home is like a second home to me.

Riku: Exactly. And your room there is still the same as always, but it's up to you if you want a few changes.

Masuki: You have your own room there?

Chiyu: Why not? Iku and gramps don't even mind right?

Riku: The house is big enough for all of you girls to have your own room. So Chu² having her own room there is kinda a good thing...

After several minutes of traveling, they've finally reached the entrance of the Nagae Estate, it's a huge black gate with a huge oarfish which is the symbol of the Nagae Family.

They waited for the gate to open, and as the gate opens up, the bus continued their way into the estate.

Hina: Riku-kun, how long till we get there?

Riku: If we travel at this pace, we'll be there in 10 minutes.

And just like that, 10 minutes later, they've reached the Nagae mansion.

(A/N: If you guys know MrBeast's $1 vs $100,000,000 house, then I'm using that video and the $30,000,000 house in that video as the reference of Riku's home but it's twice the size.)

Riku and the others got out of the bus and when the girls saw the house, they were just quiet.

Himari: Ran, you said that Riku's house was big but...you didn't say it was this big.....and it took us a while to get here.

Riku: Because the entire land that we traveled till we get here is owned by the Nagae.

Lisa: Are you serious?

Kyoya: Riku isn't joking Lisa-kun. This land was given to us by Empress Meisho as a token of the Nagae's contribution during the Sengoku Era. The other Celestial Families were also given land all over the country by the empress as well and that includes assigning the regions for our families to manage. The Nagae, Saigyouji was given the Kanto region as their area. Now let's get inside. Riku and Mafuyu has some guests waiting for them.

Riku and Mafuyu began to think who was waiting for them and when the main door opened, they were greeted by a line of butlers and maids and Riku's real aide Ayabe is waiting for them.

Ayabe: Welcome back oyakata-sama, Riku-sama and Mafuyu-sama.

Riku: Good to be back Ayabe.

Ayabe: Hm. There is someone waiting for you Riku-sama, he's already inside and having a conversation with Mafuyu-sama's guests.

They followed Ayabe to the living room as that's where the other guests are. And as they entered the big living room, they saw a man with brown hair that is in his early 30's talking to 3 girls that is the same age as the band girls and they were talking about music in English and Riku knows who he is.

Riku: You're early Dendi.

The man called Dendi looked back and saw Riku, he stood up from the couch and went to him and gave him a fist bump.

Dendi: Well I made an early reservation. Can't miss what you're putting out in three days right? And congrats on the win my boy!

Riku lightly punched Dendi on the shoulder as he introduced him to the girls.

Riku: Everyone this man is Danil Ishutin, also known as Dendi. The first ever TI champion. And currently the leader of B8.

Dendi introduced himself in fluent Japanese, but his accent is still there.

Dendi: I finally get to meet you girls. Like Riku here said, I'm Danil Ishutin and you can just call me Dendi. Riku told me that you got potential. If that's the case, I can't wait for me and the others watch you girls play. No pressure and have fun, that's the true way to enjoy music. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll get myself some nuggets.

Dendi left to get some food and Riku shook his head.

Riku: Classic Dendi.....he always love his nuggets.

Arisa: Is he always like that?

Riku: Off the stage yes. But give him a guitar and he'll give you a guitar master class. So Mafuyu, kindly introduce your friends to us?

Mafuyu: Ah yes...these three are my friends.....

Kanade: I'm....Yoisaki Kanade.....

All of a sudden, Kokoro appeared in front of Kanade and starts touching her hair which scared Kanade.

Kokoro: Wow....you're so beautiful Kanade! Your hair is so silky smooth!

Kanade immediately hid behind Mafuyu as she ran away from Kokoro.

Mafuyu: As you can see, Kanade is shy around other people and not the best talker....

Misaki: We'll take note of that. Kokoro, say you're sorry, you scared her.

Kokoro: Okay. Sorry I scared you. I'm Tsurumaki Kokoro, if it's okay with you can we be friends?

Kokoro reaches out her hand in front of Kanade while Kanade was hesitating, she took Kokoro's hand and shook it as a sign of both of them becoming friends.

Kanade: S-Sure.....and sorry for....running away...I'm not used to people with too much energy.....

Mizuki: I'm glad that Kanade made a new friend. I'm Akiyama Mizuki, pleasure to meet you all.

Ena: I'm Shinonome Ena. Pleased to meet your acquaintance.

Riku: Hm. I'm Nagae Riku, Mafuyu's half-brother. Thank you for being Mafuyu's friends, and nice music by the way.

Kanade: Eh? What do you mean?

Riu: I know you're 25-ji.

Kanade started to shake when Riku found out that they were 25-ji. Riku just put his hand on her head and Kanade started to calm down.

Riku: Feel better now?

Kanade just nodded with a blush on her face.

Mizuki: Wow. He managed to calm Mafuyu down without saying anything. Impressive.

Riku: I'm kinda used to it. Now try to familiarize yourselves with the others as I discuss something with Dendi.

Riku left the girls as they familiarize with each other while Riku went to where Dendi is.

Several hours later

Japan Celestial Cemetery - 2:00 P.M.

Riku POV

After leaving the girls, I went to where Dendi is and asked him in regards on who is coming with him here in Japan. He said that aside from him, he manage to invite some old faces to have some time for them to relax.

After talking to Dendi, I see Ayabe giving the girls a tour around the mansion to make sure no one gets lost.....especially Kanon and assigned them their rooms. 

I'm at the Japan Celestial Cemetery along with Mafuyu to visit my parent's grave. I do this every time I win a big tournament. And as to why I brought Mafuyu with me, is because grandfather told me to bring her as this will be her first time coming to this place.

Mafuyu: This place is different compared to the other cemeteries nii-san.

Riku: Reason is because this cemetery is where the members of the Celestial Families lay to rest. Majority of them are families that are connected to us and some of them belong to the main branch. And I'm sure that you haven't noticed, there is a bounded field surrounding the cemetery so it can sense any potential grave robbers.

After walking for five minutes, we arrived at the gravestone of the Nagae Family and on that gravestone, is a plaque below that has the names of each member of the Nagae who passed away.

Riku: I'm back....mother...father.....

I greeted my mother and father and told them the events that happened this month. I also told them that I won the Future World Fes for the 5th time...I'm sure they'll be happy knowing it.

Riku: Mother.....there is someone I'd like to introduce to you.....and I'm sure that you'll remember her....

I nodded at Mafuyu and she stepped forward and bowed at the family gravestone.

Mafuyu: I'm Asahina Mafuyu.....or rather...Nagae Mafuyu.....

I can tell that this will be a sensitive matter for Mafuyu, I put my hand on her shoulder and said...

Riku: I'll leave you alone for a moment, there's someone I need to visit.

Mafuyu nodded as I leave her and make my way to a certain gravestone. It took me a few minutes until I reached...

Hinanawi Family Grave

I reached the grave of the Hinanawi Family where Tenshi is buried....well her body is, but her soul is inside of me.

Riku: If Tenshi was still awake, she would've ranted on my head when she sees this.

Then all of a sudden, I hear footsteps behind me and as I turned around, I saw a young man with blue hair and red eyes being accompanied by 9 girls. The young man was shocked seeing me as he tries to come closer. And I know who this young man is....

Aichi: So you've come to visit her.....Riku.

Riku: Yes.....and it's been a long while.....Aichi.
