Where's the Pyramid?"
"At the bottom of a pit, Inspector."
"A pit?"
"Yessir. It looks pre-Columbian and it's around 400 feet deep, but there's a problem..."
"What?"
"It's surrounded by Russian land-mines, sir, and either Russian mercenaries or soldiers are guarding it. Getting in there is a suicide. I'm going back to your point, Inspector."
"Do you have a plan, Captain? Time's against us."
"Suicide missions are our specialty, Inspector."
Thunder resounded above us and we were subjected to a torrential rain. We have been waiting for fifteen minutes when the Colonel approached me.
"I have ten years stationed here. I thought I knew every nook and crane of this jungle, but this pyramid... It blew my mind. I'm going to stay here, Inspector, waiting for our backup and air support."
I nodded and turned to the Captain, who was emerging from the mass of leaves and tree trunks behind him. He strode forward and handed me his PDA.
