(Valentine Part 1)

It is just like any other normal day, I go to school fifteen minutes before class, eat my lunch at the cafeteria, walk at the station by three in the afternoon, do my homework around four, eat dinner with my family by six in the evening, study my lesson again by seven and sleep at eight or nine, and wake up again by five in the morning and the cycle continues.

I don't have any friends, I am always alone. I don't even need them; I'm just happy reading books. That's why they call me a nerd, a person who lacks social skills or is boringly studious; yes I am indeed a nerd, and I am not shy about that. I don't even care if they tease me or bully me because of what I am.

I thought it would be just like any other day when… I met him in such an unforgettable situation that changed me a lot.

I am now walking on my way to Seigaku, it is the same route that I've been for two years, and every morning this is what I am always expecting for.,,

"Get out on my way viper!" said the young guy who's cycling his bike

"Geez! Bakamero! You're the one on my way!" the one who's wearing a bandana is running as fast as the guy in his bike, their speed is the same, then they passed in front of me

I was left there just staring at him, he never fails to amaze me, at that moment I smiled again, he is the reason why I changed for the better and I love who I am today.

"Hey! Sunako-chan!" it was Nanako who taps me at the shoulder

"Happy Valentines!" She greeted me with her widest smile, I and Nanako aren't friends at all, but after we get along at the Villa we become uh… I think closer, to the fact that she stayed in our house yesterday just to teach me on how to make chocolates

"So how is it? Are you ready to confess for him" she ask as we walk in and pass the entrance of the school

"Uh… I still feel nervous Nanako…" I said while intertwining my fingers

"Trust me it will be fine," she said.

Then we went to our classes. It was quite late when Nanami and I got finished at the court practices, we just waited for the others to go home.

"Sunako, it's time" she called me, we ran in the bushes near the men's locker room to find out if he was there. We saw Ryoma Echizen talking with Tezuka buchou, their faces look so serious that time, then there Yuuki-buchou with Ryuzaki sensei's granddaughter, (I think she is Sakuno a freshmen), came and pats Ryoma's head and left with Tezuka buchou instead, leaving the two freshmen after a few talk (Well I really don't know if they do talk that time) the two left,

"Are Yuuki and Tezuka Buchou going out on a date wearing school uniforms?" asked Nanami

"Uh, there is 90 % that they are going out! I can feel it" I replied

"We cannot be left behind Sunako-chan! You and your crush must go out on a date too!"

"How come it will happen?'

"When he gets out of the locker room you will pop out from the bushes and will call his name, and you will give this chocolates to him okay? If he accepts this, ask him if the two of you could go out on a date!"

"Very straightforward act Nanami, are you sure? I think I couldn't do that…" I fix my specs on, my face blushes as I imagine giving these chocolates to him

"Tss! Of course you can! In my signal you will do it okay?"

"Okay"

A few minutes later, a guy went out of the locker room carrying his tennis bag and playing his keys, when Nanami pushed me out of the bushes were hiding from, and now I am in front of this guy speechless holding the chocolates.

"Oh you are from the female tennis club aren't you?" he asked as he look at me and realized who I am

"Uh.. ah yeah…" I replied, geez, Nanami shouldn't have pushed me right away!

"As far as I can remember you are…Sunako Nagayama-san right?" I nod, and my face blushes, I never imagined that he would know my name; I could hear Nanami whisper her cheers but gosh! I can't do it on him!

"Do you have anything to say?" he asked me again…

"Uhm… actually… it's a…" I can't search for any word to say, how am I going to explain it?

Then out of nowhere Nanami then came out of the bushes, as well as the other guy wearing a school uniform went out of the men's locker room where the first guy from.

LUNCH BREAK

"Huh? What for?.. uh no… I don't have any… but geez… hey! No don't tell anyone!... alright then… yeah, after class… okay… see ya" then she let out a loud sigh

"Who's that Megumi?" asked by Yuuki who went out of the cubicle

"Yuuki? How long have you been there?" Megumi said in surprise

"Hmm.. I got here first…as before you enter" she replied while washing her hands at the faucet

"Y-you mean you have heard everything?"

"Hmm.. not all, I'm just surprised that it was you when I saw you."

Lucky that Yuuki slow is sometimes, Megumi said in her mind with a relief

"Is it Keigo-san you're talking to?" she asked innocently

"Hu-whattt!!!??? H-how did you know?" she was stuttering

"No, I don't , that's why I'm asking…" she said as she frowns

"Ugh…*Facepalm* okay you got me…" she replied to her

"Eh? He is really asking you out?"

"Sort of…"

"Hmm.. that's nice"

"How come it is nice?"

"Keigo-san is a nice person Megu, I know he's the best for you" and she winks back at her friend and left the comfort room

...….

"Eh what's your problem huh?" said Momo

"Tss.. Sunako-chan tell him already!" said Nanami

"Nanami-chan, it's just he's…" she wasn't able to continue what she is saying

"Hey you! Kaidoh!" screamed Nanami to him and looked at her calling out him name

"Sss… What?" he makes a deadly look at his senpai, Momoshiro frowns as to how Kaidoh answered a girl?

"Hey viper! You shouldn't answer like that to Nanami-san" he makes a step closer at Kaidoh who is being pissed off from them

"Tss! I'm just asking why she called me, you're just exaggerating"

"Hey, you two stop fighting, Kaidoh will you go now, Momo and Sunako have something important to talk about." She said while trying to push Kaidoh away

"Me and Nagayama-san?" Momo pointed out himself while questioning

"Bye Sunako-chan! Ganbatte!!!" said Nanami while still pushing Kaidoh, the two boys are confused while Sunako on the other hand tightened her grip and took a deep breath before she said they never knew will came out from her

"Kaoru Kaidoh-kun I love you!"

*Silence

"I have loved you ever since first year; I adored you ever since that day that you saved me… I think I fell in love with you for the first time."

"Kaidoh is your secret crush? I thought it was Momoshiro" Nanami

"I can't believe it! There's a cure girl who likes to give chocolate to Kaidoh this valentine? I can't believe it!" Momoshiro exclaimed

"Ts.. I don't know what you guys are talking about…" he turned his back to the three of them, Sunako's face saddened as he walks away but Momoshiro grab him by his neck and make him face Sunako, Nanami makes a deadly glare at him and said

"Hey you, young man! I don't care if you can understand it or what but please listen to Sunako first! " she is very serious about it, that makes Kaidoh shut up and looked at Sunako who is still holding a box of chocolate

"Kaidoh-kun"

*** "It is my first day in school, and it was very tiring as usual. I just listened to the teacher's orientation and all. It was a quiet afternoon as I walked at the bridge side when I heard a sound… someone is crying… I went down at the hill side and saw a puppy crying. I take a look around to ask for help, but there's no one so I take a look at the river's flow… it is not that strong and I think I could manage to help that little pup over there. I left my bag at the side and started to make my way to the pup every step I made, the deeper I got into the river. It's just a four step away from the puppy and the water is at my chest level. I tried to feel the next step and when it was okay I made a move. I was able to reach the puppy and was ready to get out of the river. My head is the only thing that can be seen from me. I was about to make a step when my foot fell down on the river floor. I was shocked, that means that the flooring is just junk and the river is deeper than I thought. The river flows got me and I wasn't able to fight back the flow, I am drowning, I called out for help. I am still holding the puppy and still trying to save it, and myself is this my end? Am I going to die drowning? I was able to take my last breath before being totally drowned by the river. It was total silence, I was about to accept that it was my end when a strong hand grabbed me up and I gasped for air. After a few moments I could also hear him coughing, as well as me. Then he shouts at me:

"Are you stupid?! You went to the river when it's high tide! You'll get yourself dead if I don't see you!" and he makes a deadly glare at me.

Then I cried, "I… I just want to save the puppy, I can't stand to see him die in the river so I tried to help him…" I cried even harder "I'm sorry for bothering you, sorry.. sorry… waaah!" His face softened and what he said next makes me stop crying, and gives me a comfortable feeling, it's like time stops and it was just me and him.

"Don't cry.. if I were on your feet I would also do the same thing… but next time be much more careful, our life is only one, and don't risk it… there's a lot more thing you can do if you live… be careful…" and he left me with my cheeks hot, that moment I know that I am in love with him… ***

END OF FLASHBACK

"That's how I fell in love with you…" Sunako ends, Momo and Nanami are shedding tears,

"I can't believe that you can be such a hero viper! You're one lucky bastard" he pats his friends shoulder and left them

"Sunako, you did great, now I think you and Kaidoh-kun need to talk privately so I'll be leaving the two of you" and she run after Momo

Silence between them

"Uhm… Kaidoh – kun!"

"H-huh?" he's blushing

"Here.." she hands the box of chocolate "I… please accept this! As a sign of my love confession and for thanking you for saving my life!"

"Tss… you have not to… everyone will do the same thing" he turns his face away

"Thanks" he said and accepted the box and walked away from Sunako who was left smiling…

......

"Hi there gorgeous!" he greets

"Don't mention what is obvious…" she said sarcastically

"Aren't you that conceited Miss Ohta?" he ask back on her to tease

"Tss.. how come I'll become a model if I am not gorgeous Mister Atobe?" she replied and arcs her brow when he let a soft laugh, they are in an expensive restaurant that Atobe called for reservation for their so called valentine date

"You know what? I really don't want to come with you on a date… I should have stayed at home…"

"My my… don't make a sad face, you look lovely when you're smiling…" he said to her that makes her blush, "Oh take back my words, you look more lovely when blushing!" he let a lopsided smile on his lips that makes her face even more red

"Enough of your sweet talks Atobe, what do you want anyway?" she asked him straightforward

"I told you that next time we won't be cut off again" he said implying the last time they were together at the party in the Yamamoto's residence

"huh? Are you nuts?" her voice is quite loud that some of the guest makes a look at them, she look down and quite embarrassed remembering that they are in a restaurant

"Hey, I am serious I really like you… that's why I invited you for a date" he smiled at her

"Megumi Ohta, would you be my official girlfriend?"

"WHAT!?" she screamed in surprised that caught the crowd's attention, and camera starts flashing
