The day after Labor Day, Tom walked into the concert hall at the college and was pleased to hear the sound of the new organ being tuned. When he walked up to the console, the head installer stopped what he was doing.
“Hello, Dr. Foster,” he said, “good to see you. We’re not quite finished with the tuning, but we’ll be happy to take a short break if you want to try her out.”
“You bet,” he said.
The man slid off the bench and Tom took his place. “What’s ready to be used at this point?” Tom said.
“Pretty much every division in the main organ except the Positiv,” he said, “but we haven’t started on the gallery organ yet.”
