“Looks good,” Noah said.
“Yep. Nobody will have any reason to complain that we were messy houseguests.”
“And purchasing a few bottles of wine to leave behind was a nice touch.”
They headed down the mountain in time to meet Marco and Dani in the parking garage at the appointed time. Their hosts drove them to the old quarter of the city and parked in a public lot.
“We’re taking you to Poco,” Marco said as he led them down a side street, “and it’s in the next block.”
“Yeah,” Dani said, “we remember how much you liked it.”
“We certainly did,” Tom said, “it was wonderful.”
When they were seated at a table in a corner of the restaurant, Dani said, “Have you enjoyed staying in our house?”
“Yeah,” Tom said.
“We’ve slept with the terrace door open every night,” Noah said, “so we could hear the waterfall better.”
“In a couple of weeks it’ll be too cold for that,” Dani said.
