Chapter 33: Dwarf City (7)

________________________________________________________________

Caughting the almost dying Davain with a single hand, he said. "Are you still alive," he questioned as he was still in his nightmare. He laughed as Lillian jumped out of his arms with a curious expression.

[Monarch's curse deactivated]

"I hate you," he said breathing heavily. Alex just laughed, which annoyed Davain "What are you laughing at." he questioned with an angered expression.

"Your face." he exclaimed with laughter, "HAHAHAHAHA.... you look much more stupid than before," he answered further as veins popped out of Davain's head with earth spikes coming from the ground which Alex dodged already seeing the attack.

"Come over here," he shouted chasing Alex with a sword made out of a rock, slashing it at Alex who dodged effortlessly. Even if Davain was much faster than Alex in their base form, but with his eyes he could predict his movement before he even did them. Also, he knew that he wouldn't hit him.

That is when Lillian exclaimed "Mr. Zero you should see this." she said aloud gaining the attention of the two who walked in her direction which didn't take long before they arrived at a tomb.

Statues of two warriors holding their swords one had a single sword with the other had two. Both were male and those statues were releasing an aura which Davain and Lillain didn't notice and Alex warned. "Don't get close," he said stopping Davain from going any further.

"Why, shouldn't tombs have treasure or something," he said. Alex stared at the stone which was written in an ancient language.

"This place is for those who have honor, loyalty, and mastery of the sword. Those who enter without the spirit of a True master will die. So welcome to the unending journey of swordsmanship." Alex read the text shocking the two behind who stood there dump founded.

"How do you know an ancient language," Lillian asked and Davain just shook his head remembering who Alex was.

"Davain you will be going to the right and make sure you don't die," Alex said walking forward.

"Wait what." he shouted confused and added, "What do you mean to go to the right."

Alex stopped to explain a little to him "This place is giving you a challenge which in completing them you gain one of their techniques." considering something he further said, "If you fail you die so are you going to chicken out on me."

"NOOO," he said hesitating to move.

"I am your teacher after all so believe in yourself." The hesitation in his eyes didn't disappear and he added, "Okay, waiting there won't bring anything then regret and make you weak so choose your path Davain. Risk it all or walk life knowing that you could have." Alex gave him words to consider before moving forward to the path on the left.

Considering what Alex said he started moving to the right, with a nervous expression.

"OOO yey Lillain this may take some time so don't wait for us," Alex said entering a path that had an illusory barrier which Davain entered from the right. After entering that when Alex remembered something 'Shit from the text it said to take a month right, Fuck...' He wasn't worried much about Sasha he was more worried about Asher and Stella he left at the inn.

Knowing that once entered you can't leave until you have finished the task at hand he sighed and kept moving. Also, the real reason Alex asked Davain to enter was that they needed two people to enter each path, meaning that he couldn't have entered without having Davain or someone else.

'Even if what I did was a little bit ruthless but am confident he will survive....." he thought walking the path to reach the empty space. Alex's eyes stared around as he said "I don't have time to waste so let's do this, Master Lavune."

"hAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA you know my name huh." A figure of an illusory old man stood before Alex, with a smile " It has been so long before someone has entered this place." Alex knew his name on the text written outside, but the old man didn't think someone of this era could read that ancient language.

"Yey am sorry for not wanting to stay but I have things that need my attention outside Master," he answered his hidden question with a calm expression.

"I don't think it will take long for someone like you." he answered and further said, "But still let's find out." The old man had a long beard and a weak body.

Suddenly a book appeared before Alex "To gain my technique you should first learn the first form of Lavune style and beat me in combat that's simple right."

"Ah, AT what level of power."

"Whichever you are," he answered back.

'Learning his first form.... huh.' he wondered something walking toward the book. 'This is going to take at most some days and I don't have the time to waste.' he thought regretting even entering this place as the idea of destroying the barrier and leaving crossed his mind.

'I should at least try.' he answered himself touching the book.
