Chapter 3: Contract

The sun was setting as darkness was covering the lands. Alex moved in the path he still remembers to find that pig-like monster but in the end, he got lost ...…again!

"Apparently am lost again." he sighed. The sun was setting, and the darkness was arriving screaming danger. Using his soul sense Alex was able to cover a range of 100 meters.

Abruptly he hid himself and waited to sense a soul arriving knowing that a monster was coming but something compelled him to stay. To his delight, the vile and filthy pig-like beast was coming his way, delicately dragging its eggs. It was changing its hiding location in a hurry like it was running away from something, but Alex was too distracted to notice that. He smiled wanting to cherish the moment the pig-like beast died he appeared from the bushes using his soul skill: Soul spear.

[Soul spear – A spear made out of soul energy being formed as it will restlessly target your enemy. The spear will damage the soul and the origin of your target.]

An illusory spear appeared behind him and an expression of anger, excitement clearly shown, "Ooo, your fucked." He said and started laughing. The pig-like beast was visibly shocked and angered clearly remembering Alex. Before she could react or even roar one of the illusory spears behind stroked. In a blink of an eye, the spear hit the head, but no blood came, No wound was visible but what Alex saw was the body collapse on the ground.

Stunned at his own capabilities with no blood the big beast just fell to the ground with a lifeless body. Immensely shocked Alex seeing how Op his skill really is and at that moment he saw hope at the end of the road. With a smile on his face, he rushed forward to make sure and even kicked the pig-like monster's head to see if it could move. "Okay, this is amazing," considering something he found that he couldn't move around with the pig. So, he just decided to eat it right there.

Starting a fire and cooking the meat as well as the extra eggs he had a delightful meal. "But it still needs salt.".

He decided to spend his time cultivating after finding a place to hide. A cave in one of the hills was found and with his soul sense searched around for any strong beast that may enter his range. The sun set as hours passed and he broke through to the infant soul stage his soul sense increased to 200 meters.

The soul undergoes a change and grows into an infant form, increasing the soul force by 10 times. He felt like he was being bathed by the most cooling water in the world the feeling couldn't be fully described. Opening his eyes, he sensed something just 200 meters away and even more. Something east from his position was calling him.

Confused he ignored it and went to sleep feeling greatly tired, even in his sleep he felt anything that entered his range of 200 meters.

The next day

After leaving that area the calling disappeared which was still strange for Alex, so he decided not to return….. unless he got lost. In his range were many monsters all unknown with the insignificant ones being much more dangerous. "As long I don't encounter something with a higher soul stage then I will be okay .... right." he nervously asked himself.

He went to the region where he felt few monsters with a weaker soul than him making it safe to hunt. Leaving that region, a group of dire wolves found him. But sensing that a few souls were following him in slowly just 50 meters away he panicked.

Calming his heart, he felt that only a single one was a stage higher than him, so his worries disappeared even if slightly. Looking around he couldn't find a suitable place to launch an attack, but his preferences was to run at this moment.

Doing that would be just useless, as he understood that fact and he decided to stay. So, he just waited with 5 illusory spears behind being the limit he could create with his limited soul energy. It didn't take long as the dire wolves arrived surrounding him.

Even if Alex was afraid, he needed to face it, with 2 dire wolves at each side his guard was up. "GRGRGRGR." the leader growled from the right.

Their movement was slow clearly targeting their prey, raising his hand all the spears targeted the dire wolves. At the speed of light, they hit their targets as two bodies fell on the ground all dead and the leader which was [LV36] as the luna wolf that was [LV28] were left alive.

They both screamed rolling on the ground back and forth as their level dropped immensely shocking Alex. "What ..... happened." confusion covered his face but he didn't complain seeing how it benefited him the most.

At this moment Alex was left with a single spear unable to create more with no more soul energy left, he shook his head and even thought of running away. But he soon remembered the soul contract skill and smiled happily. As he shot the spear at the leader who had just woken up recovered a little from the strike. The dire wolf leader soon fell down dead and he targeted his other skill on the other dire wolf.

{Soul contract – A contract that can heavily damage one's soul or lead to death if the terms are broken. There are three types of contracts [Normal contract], [Forced contract], and [Lineage contract.]

[Forced contract – A contract that is forced on someone one of the terms for this contract to work is when the opposite side is weakened. But if their soul is greater then yours that contract can't last, and is extremely weak. That contract can be broken as long that person has an ability that connects them to their soul or other souls.]

Activating the forced contract, he forcefully made the dire wolf his pet. But the wolf had long gone unconscious not knowing what was happening. Alex Long went to the other dire wolves and started cutting them with the sharp rock.

He found monster cores in the two wolves as he was unable to cut open the leader its skin being tough. Sigh greatly he stared at the blue sky and said, "Who can defeat me." he shouted arrogantly.

Roar...…

Suddenly a roar sound from the distances and Alex long started running "Shut your fucken mouth."
