Coming to the realization that he could also mimic the magic of objects, Jake was even more excited and glad that his type of magic is Magic Mimicry.

Before coming on the expedition, Jake thought that he could only mimic the magic of other people but now he found out that his magic was better than he thought it was.

"Do you have the beast essence?" Smith asked Diane as he saw her getting up from the grass.

"Yeah." Diane replied and put the beast essence inside the bag from the dimensional ring after she had gotten a good look at it. She had also been amazed by the vibe being radiated from the beast essence.

"Let's continue moving." Jake said. "We have to get the highest number of the beasts essence to win this expedition and I don't plan on losing."

"You still haven't told us how you used the magic of the daggers though." Kevin said as he followed Jake who had already started walking away.

"I told you I don't know." Jake replied. "If it happens again I'll let you know what I find out."

'Though since I already mimicked the magic, I'm pretty sure I can do it again on my own even without the daggers.' Jake thought.

Jake and his group members were not the only ones who had run into the beasts.

Third year students who were having their expedition on planet Soran had also been attacked by a couple of primary ranked beasts but a group wasn't lucky enough to be attacked by a primary ranked beast. Instead, they had been attacked by a medial ranked beast.

"What are we going to do?" Rick asked no one in particular as he jumped away to evade the claw which came swinging at him.

Rick was a member of Kyle's group, along with Sora, Ava and Mike. They had been attacked by a medial ranked beast and were doing their best to fight it. They all knew running would be a waste of time because the beast was way faster than them.

"If we aren't able to kill this beast, we might have to let the haven know we need help." Mike said.

"You're right." Kyle concurred. "But if we get help from the haven, there surely must be a price to pay."

"What... do you mean?" Rick asked as he groaned in pain and got up from the floor. He had been hit by two claws of the beast and now had a gash on his left hand.

"I'll explain later," Kyle replied, "first let's focus on the beast."

They all had wounds and little blood on their bodies but the gash on Rick's arm was the worst injury any of them had received.

The huge six-legged beast wasn't unscathed as it also had small injuries all over its body which showed the effort Kyle and his group members were putting in.

"There are people coming." Rick shouted to his group. Instead of fighting, he had been watching the fight against the beast from the sidelines due to the gash on his hand which was still bleeding despite him trying to stop the bleeding by pressing a towel onto the gash.

"Maybe we can ask them for help." Ava said as she touched two legs of the beast from behind and using her magic, she began making the legs of the beast turn into stone.

"WATCH OUT!!" Kyle shouted and jumped at Ava before falling to the ground with her. They had barely avoided the long rope-like object which the beast had used to attack Ava.

After failing to hit Ava, the rope-like object which was the tongue had been retracted back into the mouth of the beast and the beast was now growling at Kyle and Ava who were on the ground.

"It's Jake and his group." Rick said out loud.

Rolling away with Ava to avoid the tongue which the beast used to attack them again, Kyle got off the ground and quickly delivered a stream of acid from his fingers to the tongue of the beast.

Receiving no damage from the acid due to moving its tongue fast enough to avoid it, the beast was moved slightly to the side after receiving a hit.

"Impeccable timing." Kyle said, after seeing Jake in the position where the beast had received a hit from.

"You guys need help?" Jake asked, knowing fully well that they needed help. "It looks like this is a medial ranked beast."

They could all tell that it was a medial ranked beast due to the double-ringed marking on a leg of the beast.

"You can help. But know we're keeping the beast essence." Kyle said.

"It's okay. We've got a few of them anyway." Jake replied.

Before Jake and his group ran into Kyle's group, they had had encounters with two more primary ranked beasts as they moved around.

With Smith healing the gash on Rick's arm and Kevin and Max deciding not to take part in the fight against the medial ranked beast, Jake, Kyle, Ava, Sora, Diane and Mike surrounded the beast and charged in all at once.

Being faster than the others, Jake got to the medial ranked beast with his daggers in his hands and dodged the tongue which the beast used to attack him.

Grabbing onto the tongue before it could be retracted into the beast's mouth, Jake used the fatal strike magic and cut off the tongue of the beast.

Whining and moving about in pain, the beast staggered for a bit before regaining its composure. Retracting the remaining part of its tongue into its mouth, the beast swiped two of its claws directly at Jake but Jake jumped forward, above the claws and used the fatal strike magic on the head of the beast.

Jake hadn't expected his attack to kill the beast so immediately he delivered the fatal strike attack with the daggers in both of his hands, he quickly jumped off the head of the beast and landed a few metres away from it.

While Jake was attacking the beast, the others hadn't been standing around doing nothing. Kyle was using his magic on the beast by releasing streams of acid from his fingers, Ava was slowly turning the beast into stone starting with its legs, Mike was forming metal objects out of thin air and slamming them onto the beast while the others were attacking the beast in their respective ways.

With the beast now in critical condition after receiving a lot of damage, Jake delivered the killing strike by using the fatal strike at the neck of the beast from below.

Hurriedly moving away from the beast to avoid the beast falling on him, Jake smiled to himself as he received some system messages.

When Jake had seen the medial ranked beast, he had received a system quest.
