Progenitor of the New World - 1

"Hwaah!!"

…Why of all times? I open my eyes with a scary look over my face, as one would expect after a nightmare.

But soon, my guts calm down as I look at the face of my sleeping mom.

'So I slept on her lap, huh!' At the very least, it's very warm and comforting. I close my eyes again for a while to come back to my senses.

After reincarnating into this world, I think I forgot about something really critical. I look at mom again and think, 'I do see her face clearly.'

I lost my ability to differentiate people…? Where did all the dark faces go off to? Was it just an illness? Too many questions pop up which does make sense…Was I being delusional? It was no ability but just a disease that went away as my soul was transferred to this world.

Hmm…

Hmmm…It's hard to comprehend. It's a big deal, but why didn't it even cross my mind? Maybe, the reason why I was experiencing all those adrenaline rises and fresh breezes was because of this change.

Regardless, if it's gone now then I feel blessed. I will be able to feel and experience this world like a normal person.

Tell me something though…Why are you still here?!

!!!LUB-DUB!!!

All of a sudden, I feel my heart throbbing faster and some itching, just below the chest.

!!!LUB-DUB!!!LUB-DUB!!!LUB-DUB!!!

Oh, crap, the intensity's increasing…Slipping my conscious control, my hands start to reach out the small purse-like bag, kept beside mom. What the heck is wrong with my body today? First my eyes, now my entire body.

The fingers start moving all over the purse while the nails scratch to get something out of it.

I turn my eyes away to look at my hands while curving my neck a little backward. "What is goin-!!!!" Round circles with deep yellow shine on them, separated with the black pupil….

'It's scary, damn scary…What the hell is that?' The first things I notice are those features as my hands automatically stop going wild and all the itching and throbbing cease instantly.

I had closed my eyes out of the reflex, the moment I saw it…After relaxing for a moment, I open them again just to find my mom sleeping with the same carefree face.

"Am I still dreaming?" I caress my forehead to ease the head pain and sit down to the opposite of mom, releasing myself from her lap sleep.

"…am tired" I turn my eyes towards the pathway on which the cart was moving. We were in the forest when I went to sleep and we are still roaming around…how long is the road to the capital?

"How long will it take, grandpa? Are we still far from the capital?" I ask the old man, the one riding the horse and carrying us, in a weary tone as I am still half-asleep.

"Oh, just on time, young master. You see that signboard? We are almost there." The old man answers me as I see the smile on his face.

Taking hold of the end of the cart, I stand up on my legs to take a look at what the old man was saying. As I turn my head towards the front, the blast of cool wind smacks my face as the gust starts to muss my hair from the insides.

The scenery in front of me was nothing more than a dream for my generation and for my world. My eyes widen as I get a look at the most fantasy-type thing from the day I was born into this world.

After the signboard was a wooden bridge, probably to take us to the other side since there is a water expanse in between the two places. But the evident beauty is on the other side. A large wall surrounding the entrance of the entire city from the outside with some red flags decorating those plain matters into something colorful.

'The large castle, the vibrant colors, the beautiful atmosphere, I am going to visit this piece of art.' I don't think that's the only part attracting me though…there's some kind of aura around it which is making me more excited or maybe it's just the excitement of this body although I am the only soul here.

'It's like a ten thousand megapixel, panorama view of an entire country.' Like seriously, this is so beautiful. The cart passes the signboard which read,

-GOOD DAY TRAVELERS-

-LUNEBERG AHEAD-

-TERRITORY OF THE VITALIS KINGDOM-

and starts moving on the wooden bridge erratically. I turn my head inside and sit back on the same place.

'I understand the old man's smile now…it would be soothing to visit such a gorgeous once in a while.'

"Uhgh…try driving a little more smoothly old man…I am going to get a back pain from this." All of a sudden, mom speaks out while rubbing her hair. She rubs her face and tie back her hair strands before having a look at me.

"What?" She asks with the tardiness in her voice.

"What? You tell me…" I answer her.

"Hmm, nothing, never mind."

"Uh, okay…" What was that small, mysterious conversation just now? I just went with the flow and it's over?!

~ Twenty minutes later ~

"We have reached our destination Miss, young master!" The old man said as he loosened his grip on the belts and patted the horse. The cart's speed decreased gradually before coming to a halt.

Both, Ciel and Leona, came out of the cart after a long tour. They were both tired and sleepy although they did sleep during the travels. Most probably a travel fatigue.

After bidding farewell to the old man and tipping him with some extra fare, they started moving to the entrance of the capital of Vitalis Kingdom, LuneBerg.

CIEL'S POV

"Stop right there, travelers!" The guard speaks up as we stand before the large entrance of the city.

'There are not many people around here and not even a single one who entered before us. Well, we are lucky, I guess.' I think while standing beside mom.

"May I have your Identification Cards for verification purposes?" Was I supposed to have something like that with me? Mom didn't inform me about anything like that.

"Hmm? Are you a new recruit?" Mom asks the guard, although I still don't understand what's going on.
