Chapter four/

Day six of my week straight training with Dianna, aka Wonder Woman. She's been a bit harder on me since when I came back to normal heroing I've been not really paying attention to her lessons. Day after day she would wake me up an hour after I'd fall alseep. For a normal man this might be a bit too much but for me it was fine for the first few days. Today though something felt wrong and when I broke for lunch or my one meal I got news from Batman. Someone broke out Frost by force and took her somewhere without a trace.

I saw this from a text from my cell phone so I left my training to find out where she was taken. Wonder Woman tried to stop me but not even her threats stopped me from flying off. I jetted right over to the prison and met up with the Warden. He let me see the videos from the camreas, from what I saw this was the work of a private militarty. The Warden saw this to and tried to steer me away from finding her. "I know you have feelings for that woman, but if someone with a private military took her. You might want to forget about finding her, for the time being."

I looked at the man like he was stupid, my anger also began to take over my face. Thats when Batman came into the security room to chat with me about what he found. He showed me a picture of frost in the west coast. "Looks like she's in L.A near this bar in the middle of the city, also theres another things up with this picture." He said to me as I took another look at it and saw a sharply dressed man in a black vett looking at the camrea. "That man is the angel of hell, aka Lusifer. People say it's an act but from what is evident he's the real deal." Batman added letting me know what I might run into over there.

I thanked him and I left the room, The Warden looked at Batman and said. "He's about to findout about that suicide squad that woman controls." Batman looked over at him and replied, "Waller might be a smart woman but this was a dumb move on her part enlisting frost for what she needs. Cold Iron will stop at nothing to get her back," The Warden looked scared for what might happen if the rumors of the neck bombs being true. I was on my way flying to L.A with just my clothes on my back, I took nothing else but for the cell phone in my pocket.

After an hour of flying at normal speed I saw the bar from up in the sky. I then saw the man known as Lusifer walking into the bar with a tall dark brute of a man. I saw the Bar was called Lux and the people there were dressed nicely. I only had my normal clothes, so I went over to the clothing shop next door and got a blazer and new pants. I kept my regular shirt on and shoes, That is when I headed into the bar. I saw Lusifer was heading up to the upper floors with the other man. I waited for the coast to be clear and I went to the elevator, a woman went to stop me but she couldn't even budge me.

I seemed to drag her in with me as I hit the bottom lusifer did. I watched the woman try to hit me but I didn't feel anything, she eventually stopped when the doors opened to the penthouse Lusifer was in. Both he and the guy he was with turned to see a strange man coming right to them. The woman stopped trying apoligize for letting me in the penthouse. Lusifer seemed to be suprised that I was able to brush off his body guard so easy. "Well Mazicane you can leave us to this cold friend here." Lusifer said and the woman left for the elevator. He then took a long look at me, "You're that Cold Iron fellow who's been making a name for himself."

He said to me and I shook my head "yes" as I saw his buddy was getting closer to me. "My real name is Jake, I'm here to find my friend Killer frost, you know pale skin, ice blue hair bad attiude towards everyone." I said back to him and he didn't want to say yes but I threw him the picture Batman had given me. "I am going to bring her back to Gotham I just need locate her first." I said to Lusifer and he saw nothing was going to shake my mind away from her. "You seem to care a lot about this woman, what's she really to you, not just a friend is she?" He asked me and I smiled a bit.

"She's the woman I dream about most nights, I know she was here hint the picture." I said not leaving his gaze once, he then got closer, he touched my skin and I froze his fingers a bit. He pulled back a bit and his buddy moved in to grab me. "I know your the actual Lusifer, and from his death stare I'm guessing he's your oldest brother?" I said looking right back at Lusifer, he seem to enjoy me knowing who he really is. "You don't seem to be afraid of us, so I won't play with you any further. Yes Frost was here with a squad of unfortunate souls heading to the beach to take care of a monster or something. Hurry thought times ticking for them."

He said to me and I jetted off right from his open window. I could hear him a bit and Lusifer said to his brother, "That was a very strange man, he wasn't effected by my charm at all." I was a mile from the coast waters when I got a call on my cell phone from an unknown number. I was hesitant but I picked it up and heard a womans voice on the other end. "Am I talking to Jacob Cole, I'm Amanda Waller." She said to me and I replied to her, "Yes, and you must be the dumb one who took Frost by force?" I said sounding like I was going to reach through the phone to get her. She just laughed at me then she told me what was going on.

"There is a huge planet ending monster that I have my squad taking care of, if they defeat it everyone's prison time would be shortened. If you're wondering if Frost is still alive she is, but for how long I don't know." I listened to this woman talk for a couple minutes as I closed in on the scene to see the monster myself. It was a huge starfish monster throwing smaller versions at everyone taking people over with mind control. "You need to kill it, then we can talk about frosts freedom." Waller said but I shook that off with, "Hope she's still alive otherwise you'll be the next to die."

I hung up the phone and I charged into battle with my ice or cold chilling the air. Frost who was on the ground felt the weather change to cold a bitter, her teamates looked concerned till they saw her smile. "Boys we have good luck after all," She said as I landed right next to her. The other people around her were people who've been pulled from prison to take on this monster. They all looked at me and didn't know who I was. "It's good to see you Cait, hope you're ok and not hurt from that thing?" I asked her and she touched my face a bit, "Yes, I'm fine for the moment but that monster is going to kill everyone if it gets the chance."

She said to me and I turned around, but before I went to deal with the monster I told everyone even Frost to retreat back. I then flew at super sonic speed right to the eye of the starfish going right through it. I then picked it up while it was recovering and I took it to space, I hovered with it for a minute then before it could through anything at me I threw it to the sun. I stayed for a moment to see it get hit my the flares from the sun. With it getting destroyed I heard Waller ordering all the bad guys being hauled off. I flew back down and stopped it, "you said if they dealt with the creautre they'd be freed?"

I asked Waller and she tried to be quick about it but my anger started to come through with a sudden snow storm over head. The air got even colder with each passing second, then I felt a piece of metal in the necks of each person with frost. "You had them set up with a bomb in their necks, what are you a super villian?" I asked her and she told me, "We use people like Killer Frost Dead shot, Blood sport and the like to run impossible missions to spare good people from death." I got even angrier but then I calmed down and I grabbed Waller's shirt. "You could of asked for people who can deal with things like this, I would of jumped at the chance."

I said not making sence to Waller of why I was angry in the first place. "Why are you here to save her in the first place, aren't you a memeber of the league?" She asked me and I looked at Frost, I blushed a bit then I said out loud for myself and for Frost to hear. "I love that woman no matter what she's done in the past, hearing someone took her from a month of being set free was mind numbing." I then went behind Frost to see where the bomb was placed. "Don't pull that out, it was a second delay." Waller said as I already pulled it out froze the wound then let the bomb explode in my closed hand.

"Waller you know I can't get hurt in normal ways right, and I'm just as fast as the Flash on my good days, This was nothing for me to stop." I said to waller as I let the scraps it the floor, Waller looked scared but then she smiled. "Alright, she can go with you Jacob but remember who you've.." I grabbed her once more by the collar and lifted her off the ground. "You come after me that's fine but the moment you go after my family I will bury you in snow till you die from the cold." I said to her showing her my dark side once more, I then froze a bit of her clothing to show how dangrous I am when pissed off.

Frost stopped me and said to Waller, "He's a hero you should know that so don't turn him into something you'll regret ma'am." Waller agreed to leave me alone as I left with Frost next to me. We got to the street and I grabbed her and flew to Lux. There I saw Lusifer was in his penthouse watching me from the windows. I landed by the front door where that woman was waiting for my return. Frost didn't know what we were doing here but she did want a drink. We went in by force and made our way to the bar, Mazican or whatever her name was asked why I was here again?

I looked at her and I saw something in her eyes that screamed Demonic. "I'm here to see your boss to thank him," I said right as Lusifer from behind came around to the counter. "Mr. Cole or is it Cold, whatever, would you like a drink?' He asked me and I shook my head yes as Frost began to get nervous with the King od Hell looking at her. I with out looking away from Lusifer placed my hand and made her sit right next to me. "Calm down Frost, he's not going to do anything to you, he's just eccentric and a bit weird." I said and Lusifer laughed at me for a moment. "How did you find out about me by the way?"

He asked me and I told him, "Batman has been keeping an eye on you for sometime, he saw something that made him believe that you're really him. I respect him enough to believe him when I know he's not lying to me." I looked up and saw a glass of whiskey sitting at the top of the shelf, Lusfier pulled it down and poured me a glass. "you seem like the man who holds many secrets about this world and the ones from outside this one?" Lusifer said trying to get me to spill my mind out for him. I smiled a bit then I started to twirl a ball of ice on my finger tips.

"When I became this hero, the man with ulimitated power. It was much but then I began to meet people how can handle my strenght. Like you many people are scared of me when I show a bit of my darkside." I said as lusifer showed me his true face for moment, I didn't jump but Frost next to me did. I saw first his eyes change then his face looked all rotten or burnt. I flashed my blue eyes at him and he seem to jump from that but laughed. "We got a fearless man here?" He said looking at the female demon next to him but I said, "No, not fearless, I've just seen things not many people could handle."

We talked for a moment till another person came into the building that made the four of us turn. "Micheal, Brother you're looking revaulting as ever!" Lusifer said to the man, I got up from the chair and took a huge drink of the whiskey. "Sit mortal, you have no use here?" The man said to me which made me a bit annoyed as he tried to move me. Like with the She Demon he couldn't move me at all. Then he saw I was guarding Frost from him. With the king of hell behind me I could tell this man was more evil than the man behind me. "I don't like you please move so I can talk to that woman?"

The man asked me but I didn't even budge, he then got annoyed and tried to stab me with a blade. With my metal powers I made it melt on to me then I assorbed it into my skin. "You look like you're about to ran brother whats wrong?" Lusifer said as I he saw Micheal looked terrified about what I just did with a celestial blade. The metal felt good in my body but I wrapped it around my fist and I then grabbed Micheal. "I may be mortal, but I am not usless you pumpose ass. I'm Cold Iron, Jake Cole the coldest man alive and dead. I also will not let you near my dear Frost no matter what you try!"

I said to him and he backed off a few steps, "Father is expecting you at our family reunion of sorts. Can I please have that blade back, my father wil be angry to find out a human assorbed it into himself." Micheal said begging for the metal back. I had a version of it made out my own metal appear in my hand. I then gave to him and he ran off with Lusifer shooked I gave it bck till that was when I gave the blade to him. "I don't that man very much so I gave him a fake so when he gets back home it will not be in his pockets." I said smiling at my trick, Frost began to laugh as so did Lusifer.

"Young man that was just evil of you to trick an angel like that. I approve, would you like to drink some more whiskey?" He asked me but I declined, "I have to return home soon with Frost but if I come back I would love another glass." I said as I put my glass forward, Lusifer took and then he asked me. "Is she completely free now or do you need a favor?" I shook my head "No" and I said, "She should be fine but never know with that Waller woman." Lusifer smiled once more and walked us out just to see a blonde woman walk in.

I picked up Frost and took off the ground, "I'll go slower for you till we reach Gotham, I need to talk to Batman." I told her and she nodded as we flew off into the now night sky. For about an hour Frost watched as the world below us passed under us. Then she saw that I was flying right at a water fall when we reached gotham. She began to freak out till a hanger door opened, as I toucheed the metal floor I saw the whole Bat family was here. Brab, Dick, Jason and Batman, were there to greet me with glares for a mintute till I told them what happened.

Batman gave me his classic squint then he told me that I was put under the dangerous heroes black list. "I may of showed a bit of my power at Amanda Waller and she tried to threaten me." I then told Batman about her Suicide squad task force made up of prisoners from all over. Frost told him what she did to everyone and he wasn't suprised about any of it. Batman then told me that Frosts freedom was set as of yesterday. "It's your job now to make sure that she stays out of trouble from now on." Brab said getting closer to Frost to check on her state of mind. Since Frost can be a wildcard with her mental illness.

Frost was on edge but didn't do anything stupid, but Dick asked me a question that got Frosts attention. "What do you plan on doing since she's going to be living with you, not like Superboy and Miss M' are going to let her stay?" I smiled, I got an Idea to get my own home to be built near them, I have the money." I said to him and he laughed a bit, "Just like Batman, throw money at a heavy question." Frost didn't want me to waste money but I told her that I had more money than she thought. "Batman looked over to see his butler was coming down the steps, he had Wonder Woman with him.

Wonder Woman saw who I was next to and she jumped right for her. "Your supposed to be in prison, what are you doing here?" She asked but I stepped in between them. Wonder Woman gave me a dirty look but she backed off. "Whats going on Jacob, why are you defending her?" She asked me and I told her about what had happened with the special task force made up of Villains. "Amanda Waller has been making everyone who's been imprisoned to take on suicide missions to deal with world ending threats." I then told her about Waller trying to cross Frost after dealing with that monster I threw into the sun.

Wonder woman looked at Frost then she smiled, "He helped you become a free woman once more, what are you going to do with that?" Wonder Woman asked her, Frost didn't have a answer and she didn't need one for me. As we talked about I'd needed for my new home we all got an alert on our cells and comms. It was a call for league memebers linked to supernatural powers to meet at the Tower. I looked at Batman and told me to go and to take Killer Frost with, "They need you for this one and might want to keep an eye on her for a bit." Frost agreed to go with me so I headed to the teleaporter, Batman put in the right codes and we were sent ot the tower.

"Are you sure we can trust Frost, she's a well known villain among Flashes crew." Wonder Woman said right as we vanished, Batman looked at her and said. "I don't trust many people but that young man has a heart that can change anyone." I saw I was in the tower as everyone turned to see who was coming to the summons. They all looked shocked as they saw Killer Frost was with me. Some of my fellow heroes got ready to fight her but John Constantine greeted us. "I heard many things from the Bat about how valuble you are with hard to fight monsters, Do I have a mission for you."

He said grabbing to test out how strong I really am, he gave me a weird look. "You've met Lucy haven't you?" He asked me and I shook my head "Yes" and he laughed a bit. Then he looked at Frost, He poined at her confused. "Aren't you the woman of Snow who had killer her father?" He said to her to see I was starting to get annoyed, "Ah, yes sorry, well the reason I've called you here today for everyone magical. Is because we have a huge demon problem and I don't mean Lusifer." He said looking at me which I was drawn into the danger a bit more. Hades from the underworld has been released on accident from one of three gates."

In Antarctica near the old world temples under the five miles of ice. He planes on flooding the oceans to get rid of us all, now since we have some Ice powered heroes. They will be tasked on chilling the ice so we heroes and I can put Hades back to where he came from." John saw everyone was ready for hell, but I thought this mission was something strange. "So you really need Ice powered heroes to cool the already warming frozen dessert?" I asked him and he shook his head yes at me, I looked at Frost and she already knew I wanted to help fight Hades.

"I can do both if you let me in there, I'm stronger than most and having my powers unleashed at their fullest I might end up." John stopped me from saying anything more, "Do you have any weaknesses to speak of?" I shrugged as I said, "I don't know really I can assorb metal of all types for the most part." Then I remembered what Wonder Woman said to me when I started training with her again. "Even with all the power in the world Superman still has his limits." I felt a jab to my side, It was from SuperGirl, Kara who I had trained with a time when I first joined the league unoffically.

Frost she was some what close with me and then she saw the symbol on her chest. Kara though broke my attention and said. "Let us do our Job, you do yours and if we can't handle it jump in." She said to me barking at me like she was the boss. I back down from me trying to make this mission a solo one. Frost was suprised that I did that but then again, I seemed to change a bit from we first met.

After about an hour of talking about the mission we all jumped on to the jump jets heading to the Antarctic dessert. I took the ride along with the none flyer just incase the jet failed in the cold weather. I saw Frost was right next to me, as Kara and Superboy were on my left. They were going over the plan for the ones taking one the demons. They didn't like that I wasn't on the front lines, they made that clear with our mission leaders. Which were made of John C, Zantana and Doctor fate, one of which being Zantana in the same jet as us. "We understand that he's one of the most powerful Ice Heroes but he's also a great asset in the field of combat."

Kara said looking right at Zatana who was listening on their conversation with eachother. Zatana was going to say something but I spoke up first. "I'll be there if you need my help Connor, all you have to do is hit this button." I said handing him a device that only people like the Krypotians can here. "I'll hear that and I'll come running," I smiled at him and Connor put it in his pocket. I looked at Zatana who was glaring at me. "You'd throw away the mission just to save a couple of lives, the planet is at stake here?" She said getting upset with me, I laughed a bit. "I can go Anti SuperNova and you know what that means right?"

I asked her and she shook her head "no", Then I told her. "I can go colder than the vacum of space and the dark side of pluto. I don't because I could shift the planet into a ice age." She covered her mouth in disbelief of how strong my powers are. I kind of lied that I could go that cold but I couldn't measure my max release of my powers. Connor tapped my shoulder with his and he asked me, "What new ablilities have you picked up from training?" I had only been back for a weeks time so I never really got time to show him my new ablilites.

I smiled and I said to him, " I can now absore any metal or detect metal in everyday things, I can also now pull them from out of stuff like a magnet. The most impressive thing I can do is what I can pin point cold spots. I can put the area of cold from around me and put it over or in a area i'm looking at." He realised something and he asked, "Like when you got back home and you froze my coffee before I could drink it?" I laughed, "Yeah just like that, if I had been off a little bit I could of frozen you solid." I started to laugh a bit harder as he looked realived to be alive at all.

We heard the pilot come over the radio as we got close, "Ice team drop here and Fighting team you drop with the casters in about a minute." The huge drop doors opened under us and I grabbed Frost, She was hesitant but she held on tight. I flew to the snowy ground and saw a few other of my team land with me. We had about ten of us here to keep this place cold like it was suppose to be. I let Frost down and she looked concerned like I was. The air was harmer than it was suppose to be, "ah John, we have a huge problem!" I said on the headset comms for team leaders. "Yes, Cold go on what the problem?"

John asked me and I just said, "It's warm her, like March in southern Wisconsin warm." He dropped the call for a moment then he said, "Alright Jacob you've all been clear to go polar Nova but don't over do it." I dropped the comms and relayed the orders to my team, Frost seemed to be excited but the others were worried. I sat on the ground like I did at the Island, I then let my powers swirl for a moment around me as everyone unleased their powers into the sky. Then like a Super Jet hitting super Sonic I released my powers. The pressure change was so heavy that John and the frontline felt the temp drop Immediately.

From being maybe upper 40's to -70 in a split second. I kept pumping the cold till I saw snow beginning to fall again. Frost and everyone kept using their powers till they began to pass out. We did this for about an hour till the only ones that were left were me and Frost. I then heard the sound from the device I gave to Connor. I looked up from my peaceful trance of unleashing my power to look right at Frost. She saw my eyes were open, "You hear that device you gave away, go I got this Jacob!" She said to me edging me to help them out. I without reacting winked at her then I took off to help my friends.

I flew across the snowy plains rigth to the site of the were the sound was coming from. I saw a man in a old greek ettire holding up Kara with a green dagger in the other hand. I knew it was kryptonite, I rushed in and grabbed Kara from his hand. The guy swung at my back but I blocked it with my own iron shield under my shirt. I turned to him and he was curious of why I wasn't hurt by the sword. He looked and saw my symbol on my shirt was like Connors and Kara's. "You must be one of the kryptonians I've heard about from my spies?" He said to me and I shook my head in disapointment. "No I'm a numan Meta hero who happened to assorb Superman's D.N.A when I turned into me.

I said o him and the man seem to laugh a bit, "you have a lot of arrogance to challenge a god, even if you have the powers of a alien." He said poking my chest with his finger, everyone who waas standing saw my eye glowed a bit. Connor who was in and out of conscionusness, "We are the protectors of this planet, he's the man we call when Superman's not available." The man almost laughed, "You're telling me this is the back up's back up?" He asked Connor and he smiled for a moment till He saw me move. I hit the god right in the face towards the Gate of the underworld. He landed just outside of it to see he was bleeding a bit.

"I'm the back up when you need a bit of Force." I said to him right at I picked him off the ground, I then punched him in the gut once more. I then threw him through the gate, John and the other casters didn't hesitate to use their spells to lock the doors back up. Right when they finished I felt the air started to get cold again and it was from me. I took off without a second thought to my team to see they were all up again and working their asses off. They all stopped the moment they saw me land next to them. Frost was on the verge of collapse when I caught her from her falling. "You did a good job today."

"You saved the whole planet from flooding, be proud of that my love." I said to her as she slept in my arms, and the others all sat with me till a jump jet pick us all up. I was whipped from using more of my power than I was use to. When he reached the Tower I got to rest in the old room I had when the Team used it. Frost was in my bed but I was on the old couch catching some sleep. I was relaxed but I didn't sleep long, I slept what seemed to be only four hours. I heard the announcements over my head, "everyone who were invalved in the Antartic mission people report to the war room." The voice said, I saw Frost was waking up so I waited for her wake up fully before we left.

We walked into the room and everyone looked right at us like we just inturpted something important. Batman was here and John was in the middle of giving a half assed speech. "Everyone here did a fantastic job on dealing with that world ending threat. Thank you for saving the world again," He said and I chilled the air as I was annoyed he didn't praise the right people. "Yes Cold Iron, you have something to say?" Batman said having the group look at us again, "All of you but for the Ice heroes and Frost did the heavy lifting." I said looking over at Connor who thought I was right.

I cleared my throat and explained why I was upset. " I gave a device To Superboy to press when everyone needed my back up. I was deep in unleashing cold hell over that melting ice cube, Then I He pressed it. I had to drop what I was doing to save everyone here in the room. Supergirl was going to die because of the lack of brains to use your big guns to take on a god." I looked over to see everyone was wondering what I meant. I had guessed no one knew me very well till Connor spoke up for me.

"Yeah I agree with that, yes he's a Ice Meta but he has the same strength as Superman and is as versatile as Batman. I've seen him battle Black Adam and win with a one good punch, He even stopped Big bad Bane with a head butt. Why didn't we use him on the front lines?" He asked the question and John said putting his hands up half cocked, "I didn't know he was that strong, I thought it was all talk like Superman being the strongest hero." He looked at everyone but Frost spoke before anyone else did, "He did tell you to put him on the front lines but you blew him off like a child asking for a candy bar."

I could see she smiled a bit, "You love to mess with things don't you?" I said to her and she shrugged, "What you did tell him to put you on the front lines." She said back to me and everyone started to glare at John. That's when Batman got Wonderwoman to stop the arguments. "Hey we put Ja, I mean Cold to where we thought we needed him to be at, We all knew going into battle was going to be a difficult one. We all tried our best and.." I flew up to the front to where she (WonderWoman) was. "If you say thats what matters you're a fool, the fate of everyone's lives is not something we should play with."

I said right to her and she went to yell at me but knew I was right. "My thoughts were in the wrong at that moment, but you know what I meant by that." She said to me but I turned to the crowd watching us talk. "We need to be better prepaired for dangrous missions, you only brought a few people who could fight and all casters to fight a god of the old world. When I could defeat a monologing god with a just few hits is a sad thing to me. More sad when I see that you have talented heroes who've gotten hurt when they didn't need to." Batman agreed to that and he told everyone from this day forth he'd make sure to organize our mission teams better.

We all left that day with new cards for a emergencie teams like the heavy hitting heroes like me and a few others. I returned home With Frost with me and Me'gan who stayed back from our crazy mission saw her with us. Connor told her what was going on but she didn't trust her one bit. I saw Frost wanted to mess with her a bit but I stopped her too. "She will only be here till I can get my new home to be built down the road." Me'gan gave me a look that scared me a bit, "Nothing goes missing and no Ice in my Coffee!" She said pointing at me for the Ice coffee part. Frost laughed a bit then she went to the back.

There we saw the newer teams being trained, Beastboy and BlueBeetle were sparring with eachother. I then watched BlueBeetle stop and aim a cannon at me screaming for his suit to stop. "No you stupid suit don't hit Mr. Cole he's a.." The suit shot at me but when it got close I took it on fully. Everyone scrabled to see if I was alright, all that happened though was a sun tan on my skin. "Kid you need to tell that suit he needs to do better if he's trying to kill me." I said walking up to them both, Frost who was behind me was now in a bush hiding from the suit. I looked back and saw she being silly.

"Get up Frost, the suit only attacks dangerous targets like me, this is the first time that took a full shot at me?" I said and I saw Jaime was talking to his suit, "it keeps saying to eleminate new god, why is it saying that about you?" He asked me and I didn't know what he was asking me so I shrugged it off and I went back inside.
