Having come to a decision, she followed Malia, and they went about their day usually. On the other hand, Malia knew precisely how weak she was feeling, but the fear of getting fired was overwhelming. She needed all the tips she could get her hands on now that she was soon leaving Amber's place.
Mr. Harold was indeed a ruthless man. Malia was more scared now since the punishment. She could feel the exhaustion still in her bones after carrying the garbage bags morning to evening for three consecutive days.
She agreed that he was right in punishing them, but he didn't have to be so ruthless. She checked the time on her wristwatch and confirmed that they had less than an hour to end their shift. 'This is encouraging,' she thought.
While changing their clothes in the locker room, Malia started to get weaker, which Amber noticed.
"You are really stubborn. Do you want to collapse before you can listen to me? No work for you tomorrow because I will make sure that you sleep in the hospital."
As they moved out, Amber supported Malia while she leaned against her. Step by step, they made their way outside the restaurant while bidding farewell to those about to start their shift.
No sooner had they approached the main street to hail a taxi than Malia gave into darkness. She felt so dizzy, and everything was moving around her. Finally, she couldn't take it anymore, so she collapsed.
Amber was so scared. "Malia, Malia. Malia, don't scare me, hmm. Please open your eyes, Malia. Someone, please help." She was so scared to the point tears started brimming in her eyes. "Malia, wake up, please."
Malia lay motionless in Ambers's arm, and her face had turned ashen. Sweat was forming around her forehead, and Amber knew it was sick. She picked up her phone and decided to call her mate because Malia was her Luna; she didn't want to be rushed about her situation.
Back at the Ford group, both Daniel and Alex were having a meeting, and along with them was old man Eliot.
"ring-ring" Came the sound of Daniel's phone. He picked up since it was Amber.
"Yes, Amber," He answered, smiling because he had really missed her, but something shocked him. It wasn't her cocky or sweet self that he received but the sound of crying.
Daniel knew his mate; she rarely cried, and very few things broke her to the point of tears. However, he was wondering which one it was, and fear was evident, having remembered why she was working in the restaurant.
"Love, calm down first, ok. Calm down and tell me why you are crying" He tried to get her to be calm because the words she spoke were incoherent.
Alex looked at Daniel with curious eyes. "What do you mean by something is wrong with Malia?" Daniel became more interested, but before he could receive an answer from Amber, the phone had already been snatched from him.
If Amber is crying and nothing is wrong with her, then it is his mate "Amber, it's Alex. What is wrong with Malia?" For a man who always kept a straight face, Alex looked so scared and vulnerable.
Whatever answer that Amber had given to him, Alex just ran out of the room, leaving his phone and suit jacket behind. However, he maintained an image always, so Daniel picked them, and together with Goldman Eliot, they followed him out of the office.
Alex couldn't wait for the elevator, so he ran down the stairs jumping over a number of them at a time, and the only thing on his mind was that Malia should be fine. Finally, he reached the parking ground, and lucky for him, his driver was around because he had a meeting with some dignitaries at around 3:00 pm.
He jumped in the car and told the driver to go to Grandier Palate. "Please be fast about it."
Behind their car, old man Eliot followed in another vehicle. He was worried about Luna, but hearing his mate cry was heart-wrenching for him. Staying away from her was another thing but seeing her in pain was another.
"Malia, I am sorry, but I can't take you to the hospital, ok. Alpha said that I should wait for him. Just a little more. Thirty minutes and he will be here" Due to fear and pain, Amber wasn't even caring about the words she was using. The only thing on her mind was that she ought to be ok. Otherwise, she would be heartbreaking.
Amber held Malia in her arm like a mon would her sick daughter. She brushed her fingers through Malia's hair as she prayed to God to protect her friend.
Just like that, a car packed before them and out jumped Alex. He carried her out of Amber's arms to him. "Baby, I am here. You just have to be fine, and I will take care of the rest" The fact that she just lay still in his arms scared Alex so much that he was so disgraced.
Just as Alex had put her in the car, Daniel's car packed too, and he ran out to hug his mate just for a bit before ushering her in the car, and they followed behind the Alpha's car.
Alex asked Amber not to call an ambulance because of fear that she might be in danger and he might need to give her his blood. He wouldn't be able to do that inside a hospital; it would cause an uproar, and he didn't want to bring any attention to him and his mate.
