The thing.
Pay attention to which dialogue belongs to whom. Their concepts can affect the quotation styles and the story itself.
One could talk too much as it can reveal too much, one could also stop at some point to finish something.

Whoever or whatever that thing is... A new concept will eventually match it to stop its actions.

One could hope that it stops and it watches in the sidelines.

Even though this chapter is extremely short, it is also the most important chapter, early in the story. It actually revealed a lot! If you can't find it, look closer... It's right there, laid bare in front of your eyes.
