The big house was filled with sleeping College Students as they are were all pretty trashed from the bonfire. Well, some more than others.
Jess was the only one who wasn't sleeping or hung over for that fact as she was watching TV while waiting for ANYONE to wake up. She grew very bored as she was half tempted to poke someone just to have someone to talk to. While looking around the room she was looking for something she might not have seen before. Her eyes lingered until them fell on something new. Curiosity got the best of her as she stood up off the couch. She tip toed while making sure she didn't make too much noise. The closer she got to the sleeping body she grew more curious. She squatted down as she observed his face. Her eyes were drawn to his hair more specifically, what was poking through. Looking more closely, very closely at his horns, her hair fell from behind her ear while grazing across his forehead. She looked over while seeing his eyes twitch suddenly then began to open. "Where did you get your horns?" Jess asked in the same way a toddler would wake up a parent.
Spencer's eyes widen as his face grew insanely hot. Without a second thought he teleported to the ceiling rafter he saw in the corner of his eye. "Were you watching me sleep?!" He slightly hollered while still extremely flustered.
"I was bored and I was curious about your horns. And...now I'm starting to get curious about your tail too." Jess said while pointing at him hanging from his tail on the rafter.
Spencer quickly pulled up his hood to cover his horns as he dropped to the floor. "Look, I'm not awake yet and I have a headache. Also I'm waking up to something I'm not used to so if you can give me a minute before bombarding me with questions that would be great."
"Okay but I still want to know about the horns and I still want to talk to somebody." Jess said while placing her hands together as she was still looking at his hood that was hiding his horns.
Spencer slightly groaned as he make his way to the kitchen. "Where does she keep her coffee?" He mumbled to himself. Jess heard as she didn't hesitate to let the next question slip out of her mouth.
"What's coffee?"
Spencer looked annoyed as he began to ignore her. He was looking for anything that resembled coffee.
Jess was looking around confused as she wanted to experience more new things. She opened the fridge without any real reason.
"Hey, what are you doing?" Spencer asked while teleporting to the fridge and closing it.
"I'm trying to help."
"How can you help if you don't know what your looking for?"
"I don't know!" Jess whined.
Spencer placed his hand on his head as he felt it begin to throb. "I didn't know I'd be stuck with baby sitting." He groaned to himself.
"What's babysitting?"
"Oh my god, just go sit down." Spencer stopped himself from snapping at the girl. He let out a shaky breath trying to calm down. "I know your bored so I'll talk to you in a minute. I need some coffee or this headache won't go away." Spencer said practically begging.
Jess looked at the extremely pale boy as she gave in and walked to the other room to wait. She made sure she didn't step on anyone as she was walking and made her way to the couch. She sat down while sitting criss-cross waiting patiently as she was promised he would come back shortly. After about 5 minutes the pale boy came back with a red solo cup. "Did you find it?" Jess asked.
"Turns out they don't have coffee so soda will have to do." Spencer said while sipping on the cup.
Jess noticed how he was about to sit on the recliner away from her. "Hey." Jess snipped. "You promised to talk to me sooo.. sit by me." She demanded while patting the cushion next to her.
'Ugh.. she's annoy but... at least she's cute. Okay why not. At least I can humor her or something.' Spencer thought while he was already in the process of sitting in the recliner. While sitting back he groaned slightly as he teleported over to the couch with the ink girl. "What did you want to talk about?" Spencer asked in an irritated tone that couldn't seem to go away.
"Your horns." Jess said while pointing at his hood.
"Oh yeah, that's right. Uhh well I don't really know about them rather than I was born with them."
"What are you, not human?" Jess asked while facing toward him still sitting criss-cross.
Spencer glanced over at the girl as it occurred to him, 'She's the only other none human here. I guess I can open up a little more. She's just curious, there's no harm in talking to her.' "No, I'm not human. At least not completely." He stated rather direct.
"Oh, then what are you?" Jess asked as she grew more curious.
"Well, it's hard to explain but I'm basically half human. My mom was human while my dad was something different. Most people call them demons or devils. Which makes it sound worse then what it really is. In reality it is a simple mutation that people didn't understand so they labeled it. I hide my horns because people jump to conclusion that I'm a bad person and I'm here to steal their souls. It's really hard to hide sometimes. It's not like they can go away. The tail gives me some trouble when people see it but it is useful when it comes to fighting. Plus when people see me use it they aren't freaked out as bad." He said while grabbing onto his tail as it was curled around his hand. "Can I touch it?" Spencer heard a soft voice ask. He quickly looked over as he saw her looking at his tail curiously. He became slightly flustered as his pale face actually turned a slightly red. "Uhh w-why?" He stuttered.
"I don't know, I never meet someone none human like myself. I never encountered a demon before. I understand if it's too much to ask and I don't know if that was wrong to me to ask." She said while her cheeks highlighted in a red tint. While looking down at her hands she spoke. "Everything is new to me. This is the first time I can actually feel things and I am just slightly curious."
Spencer didn't know what to say as he was still caught off guard. "Uhh I guess.." He managed to say while at the same time not knowing what it was like for anyone else to touch his tail.
Jess's eyes widened slightly as she was surprised he said yes. She looked back down at his tail as she raised her hand with caution. The moment she touched the tail she rubbed her finger across slowly as she was nervous she would somehow hurt him. She could feel the texture was smooth but tough. Suddenly without Spencer meaning to, his tail slowly wrapped around her wrist as it was a near instinct. She could feel the strength in his tail as it felt like a snake tightening around it's prey. A small smile crept on her face as she saw the tip of his tail was still waved slowly. When she looked up at him she could see his embarrassment. Her smile grew bigger as she looked up into his eyes.
"You really shouldn't be embarrassed, it's really awesome. Your the only person I know with a tail." She said while still admiring the tail as it slowly unraveled around her wrist. "Thanks for trusting me. I'm still fairly new to all this and I'm happy I could gain someone's trust." She said softly.
Spencer looked deep into her eyes as he was left speechless due to her behavior changing so sudden. 'She was quite annoying and now she's so sweet. The only other person who was this nice was Kyle but this is in a different way. She does seem like someone I can trust. Maybe one day I'll actually warm up to this girl.' He was cut off by his thoughts as he heard some of the others beginning to wake up while moving around and groaning. 'Well that's a thought for another time.'
