73 - The unknown Grimoire

"A Grimoire that can't be identified? Hmm.." An old man stroked his long greying bread in thought as he muttered to himself.

"What's so impressive about an old dusty book, Old Pop?" A young youth next to him asked the old man.

The youth was handsome with pale skin and long black hair tied up into a high ponytail, long sword like eyebrows sat right above his light hazel eyes, making his gaze always sharp.

Overall you could only describe this youth by the words handsome, sharp and lavish.

"Hmm.." The old man gave the youth a long harsh look out of the corner of his eye but it quickly soften before he chuckled while holding his beard.

"Well it might not seem all that important to a swordsman like you, but to an old man like me it could mean opening a whole new world of opportunity and knowledge." He smiled as he explained.

"The Master is correct Young Master, as even though the Master is also a swordsman class he can still potentially learn something from such a unknown Grimoire." A man standing off the the side said respectfully to the the youth, this man was wearing a fancy black suit with white gloves.

"Hmm is that so...? Well then I take it back." The youth thought for a few seconds before nodding.

The man on the side who was the young man's personal butler sighed in relief as he made tea for the old man.

The youth was Li Xuan a extremely talented prodigy in the Li Clan, which is best known for two things.

First for the family's obsession and ability with the sword and second for the current Master of the Clan.

Master Li Yan the old man is widely known for his incredible ability with a blade and his class Master Sword Saint.

Don't let his appearance fool you, as Li Yan is said to be one of the strongest humans on this side of the continent.

As for Li Xuan he is Li Yan's grandchild, and the most talented one at that. There's an incredible amount of pressure on him as it is believed that he'll surpass his grandfather in the future.

He is also Li Yan's favourite grandchild even if his attitude and behaviour... Isn't the best.

Li Yan truely didn't like his grandsons attitude or behaviour but he couldn't deny that Li Xuan's talent is better than his own.

But he knows that growing up in a greenhouse will never be able to bring out even a tenth of the potential of anyone.

And he knows this from personal experience, for this reason he's sending Li Xuan to Dragon Star Academy, where only hard work truely matters.

Instead of sending him to Honour Academy like everyone expected him to, as not only will Li Xuan have to work incredibly hard to not fall behind the other students.

But it will also hopefully beat the attitude out of him and improve his behaviour.

He even has come personally to see the principal today to make sure his grandson receives the 'Best' treatment.

But deep down inside he wasn't worried as if what his heard about that school since his old friend took over, and knowing him.

There's no doubt that there's nothing to worry about other than the fact knowing his grandson he'll receive a bunch of phone calls in the first two weeks of him complaining.

He couldn't help but sigh and regret spoiling him too much.

Turning his attention away from his grandson he watched on as people started to bid for the unknown Grimoire.

He tapped his finger lightly down on the table next to him, hearing this the butler quickly made a bid increasing the price.

All of the sudden Li Yan's eyes narrowed before he looked over across the auction hall to another Private room.

"Did I sense wrong.." He could have sworn he sensed a huge threat of death for a moment.

Over his life he has felt death or danger countless times but the feeling he just got was unlike anything he'd previously ever felt.

But it was only for a split second, the combined with the fact he had never felt that before made him doubt weather he felt anything in the first place.

Across the hall inside that very private room Violet watched on in shock as the flame disappeared reviling an mystical book with a skull on the cover.

"What? How did you get that!" Violet yelled as she tried to pull him away from it only to fail as the book harmlessly floated right back over to Victor.

Michael stood up and looked around the room thinking that Victor was being attacked or something.

Victor did his best to stop himself from tripping and falling over backwards from the forceful pull.

After all he was quite literally pulled out of his chair from behind before being dragged backwards by Violet.

Seeing that the book followed Victor by floating towards him, Violet panicked slightly not knowing what to do.

Victor now balanced looked over to Violet with confusion in his gaze, but it all immediately clicked in his head when he followed her nervous gaze towards his Girmoire.

"Violet that's my Girmoire..." Victor said as he reached out a grabbed it.

"Huh? Huh, what do you mean your Girmoire?" Violet paused for a few seconds while looking at him.

"Well yeah, I've had it since I got my class." Victor explained not understanding why she had such an reaction.

Calming down Violet took at closer look at the book in Victor's grasp.

"Sigh, you didn't tell me that you had a special class weapon." All the tension left her as she went back over to her seat and sat down.

"Are you alright?" Victor asked worried about her, and even though he wanted to know what a special class weapon was he knew that this wasn't the right time.

"Yeah it's alright I was just surprised, that's all." Violet smiled while trying her best to relax.

Seeing that she wanted to end this conversation Victor no longer said anything, as he instead turned his attention back to the auction.

Violet on the over hand kept her gaze on the Girmoire in his hands, Violet can generally say she has a wide base of knowledge especially for her age and strength, but even she has no knowledge about this.

As for special class weapons, in all honesty she has no idea what that even is.

"Why did you... Summon your Girmoire?" Violet asked wanting more information.

"Umm well as soon as that book was brought out a... Strange feeling so I pulled on it and well my Girmoire appeared." Victor said while still watching the on going auction, waiting for the right time to bid.

Violet fell silent in thought no longer paying any attention to the auction.

"836,000 gold!"

The price of the Unknown Grimoire kept growing as it had caught the attention of many in the audience.

Rose on the stage couldn't help but complain internally that this item was being auctioned in this auction instead of a high end one, as then she would have definitely gotten a higher commission.

After all even though there were powerful people here today, they're still on a complete lower level when compared to a high end one.

The price finally began to low down, so Victor made his first bid of 950,00 gold, but that bid still wasn't the end as people still continued to bid.

Li Yan in another room started to get slightly inpatient so he directly made a high bid.

1.5 Million Gold appeared on the screen in front of the private room showing his bid to the hall.

"1-1.5 million gold!" This bid immediately set off discussion within the audience.

"Who has the spare money to gamble on an unknown book?"

"Is there something they know about the Girmoire that we don't?"

Listening to the crowd Rose couldn't help but swear inside.

'What do you mean that they know something we don't? Even a tier 6 appraiser can't find out anything, so how could they?' Rose couldn't help but ridicule the audience.

Victor seeing that the price had increased by such a large amount, he couldn't help but a sense of lose.

After all he didn't know how much he could spend in the first place and spending this much on a unknown Grimoire isn't worth it in his eyes.

Violet sitting next to him saw his hands tighten ever so slightly, knew exactly what he was thinking.

So she looked over to the unknown Grimoire on display before looking back over to him, a smile grew on her face.

She spoke lightly but her voice spread throughout the whole hall.

"2 Platinum Coins..." Her voice immediately caused the hall to fall silent before erupting into noise.

"Who the hell is rich enough to waste not one but two platinum coins!"

"Not many people below tier 4 have access to platinum coins, so it must be a big shot or someone from a strong background."

Listening to everyone talking about her, Violet couldn't help fell proud.

'Yes your all right it's a waste using Platinum Coins on such a worthless thing, but at the end of the day it's not my money!'

"Old man, someone's stealing that old withered book from you." Li Xuan said suddenly.

Li Yan's face immediately darkened as he thought about disciplining his disrespectful descendant.

But he decided against it for now as latter he'll teach him a lesson.

"Sigh, it doesn't matter, if they want it so bad then they can have it." Li Yan said no longer caring about the unknown Grimoire, allowing for Violet to win it.
