Passing the Tutorial

Daniel absorbed the energy from the two dead walnorilla's. It gave him the opportunity to add 0.2 between his stats. This time he chose to put 0.1 in agility and 0.1 in strength. When he asked the Tower to show him his stats it looked like this.

Status:

Name: Daniel Grey

Strength- 1.1

Agility- 1.2

Physique- 1

Special Constitution- Error

Special Soul- Error

Innate Talent- Energy Mind

Daniel felt happy looking at the progress he made so far. He has only been in the tutorial for an hour and his stats have increased greatly.

He looked toward the flower that the two beasts were fighting over. It was around 2 feet tall and had a beautiful appearance. Black petals outlined a white pearl interior. It really looked like a magical plant.

Daniel touched the flower and had his nano-cells scan the object.

[New Species of Flower Detected]

[Scanning properties... Mapping characteristics... Creating best plan for Patient use]

[Task Complete]

[The Flower is an awakening plant. Activates the energy for the chosen cultivation path]

[Recommended for Patient to absorb the energy, and have the nano-cells store it, until patient chooses cultivation path]

Seeing what the program recommended, Daniel was confused on what the 'chosen cultivation path' meant. He assumed that everyone increased their base stats like him to increase their power. However, unknown to Daniel, it is almost impossible to increase the base stats without a cultivation path.

Since there was no one to answer his question at the moment, Daniel decided to listen to the soul program and absorb and store the energy. After accomplishing that task, Daniel decided to continue to hunt for more beasts. He could increase his strength in doing so, and hopefully earn more points to get better rewards from the Tower.

Daniel walked through the deserted battlefield and wondered if a real battle occurred here. Was this a remanent of some huge battle? Or was this a fake world created by the Tower for the tutorial?

As Daniel walked he ran into a couple lone walnorilla's and made quick work of them. He absorbed their energy added the points to his stats. Once Daniel memorized their battle patterns, fighting them head on became easier. His stats were also increasing which also increased his killing speed. Eventually, when his three base stats reached 1.5, the energy of one walnorilla wasn't enough to increase his stats. Of course Daniel knew why. It would be a bit ridiculous if he could become a god from just killing a million walnorillas. This didn't mean he was going to stop hunting them though. They were good combat experience, and even a drop of energy adds up eventually.

Time passed quickly, and Daniel was approaching the 23 hour mark. He was surprisingly not tired at all even though he hadn't rested the entire time. One benefit from being able to absorb energy from a creature is the refreshing feeling in the body when done. It was the same feeling of a good nights rest. Of course, if you just absorbed energy for the body you would start to feel mentally tired, but Daniel realized that if he used his Mind Energy Innate Talent he could reap the same benefits as sleep.

So as Daniel walked he was feeling in top shape and better than he had ever before. The challenge had been pretty easy for him. If he wasn't at the human limit before entering and his ability to add to his base stats, surviving this tutorial could have been difficult. He could see why so many humans died the first time they entered.

Daniel had been constantly heading towards the middle of the battlefield. He had a feeling that if he continued in this direction he may gain some benefits. With the increase in his brain development stat he realized he could somewhat tell where opportunities may be.

With about 30 minutes left in the tutorial, Daniel reached a huge crater. Because the blast was so powerful it seemed that the hole went very deep into the earth. Daniel gave it some thought and decided to climb to the bottom. He intuition was telling him to take the risk.

He searched the edge of the crater until he found an area that seemed manageable to climb down. Being extra careful, Daniel made his way down. About 15 minutes later he reached the bottom. It was eerily dark down in the pit, so he turned on the flashlight provided by Lily. Instantly the world lit up. What he saw shocked him to his core. There was a huge corpse of a creature. It looked like a mixture between a serpent and bird. The blue bodied serpent had pink colored wings attached to its back. What really made the creature look beautiful, was that the body was shrouded in a dream like cloud.

Daniel had never seen such a magnificent being before. It was clearly a very powerful creature when it was alive. Calling it a creature made Daniel feel as if he was tarnishing its being.

As Daniel was staring at the dead serpent in an intoxicated daze, a blur rushed towards him and hit him in the chest. His body went flying and slammed against the wall. He spit out a mouthful of blood, and showed a confused look on his face. It's not like him to become distracted, and not pay attention to his surroundings. Then he heard the 'beep' sound in his mind.

[Patient was under abnormal state. Mind and soul are intoxicated.]

Daniel realized that it was the dead body of the serpent that caused his mental problem. He first needed to kill whatever attacked him before investigating further.

He surveyed the surroundings, looking for any sign of movement. A few seconds passed, when a blur was seen in the corner of his eye. He jumped to the side, just dodging the blurs attack. Daniel was finally able to get a good look at what attacked him. It was a small bunny with rainbow colored eyes. It bared its two buckteeth at Daniel, trying to warn him to stay away.

Daniel stared at the bunny and drew his sword. He gripped the handle tightly, ready to attack at a moments notice. The bunny lost patience first and leaped through the air towards Daniel's neck. Daniel was about to slice the bunny in half, when its rainbow colored eyes lit up. Daniel's mind was drawn into a world filled with carrots. The carrots floated through the air, enticing all to give up on life and eat carrots until the end of days.

Daniel was able to snap out of the illusion almost instantly, thanks to his increased mind. With a swing of his sword, he met the oncoming rabbit. The rabbit's head was separated from its body, as it fell to the ground dead. Daniel sheaved his sword, and walked toward the dead bunny. It was unfortunate he had to kill such a cute animal, but this isn't a game and he can't afford to show mercy.

He touched the corpse to absorb the energy from the body.

[Energy Absorbed]

[Same Energy detected as in the Pearl Flower.]

Daniel gave it some thought, and figured out that this must be how it was able to show that illusion ability. He had the program add the energy with the Pearl Flowers for later use. The energy could be added to his stats once he left the tutorial. He wanted to study the dead serpent creature.

Daniel walked towards the serpents corpse without making direct eye contact. He learned his lesson last time. When he reached the corpse he extended his hand and touched the corpse.

[WARNING. High Level Energy Detected]

[Threat level calculated.... No threat level, specimen is dead]

[Specimen is of high value. Recommended to not convert whole body into energy but to store DNA, essence blood, and accumulated energy]

[Specimen is a highly evolved creature. If alive danger value would be inestimable]

Daniel was really curious on what this creature might be. He wished he had more information on extraterrestrial creatures. Perhaps he was looking at something amazing and he just didn't know it because of ignorance. It was a horrible feeling.

Daniel went with the soul programs recommendations. He had a feeling that converting the whole body into energy to improve his base stats would be a huge mistake. Yes, he would most likely improve dramatically, but it may not bring the best results in the long run.

Daniel finished the absorption, and went to sit down to take a break. He only had a few moments left until he was teleported out. Leaning against the wall, he thought of all he'd been through in this tutorial. He fought against creatures, discovered treasure, and became stronger. He hoped that the three girls were okay in their tutorial and that they were closer to their dreams.

A white light enveloped Daniel as he was brought back to the white room in the Tower. A beautiful voice rang in his ears, "Congratulations Climber. You have passed the tutorial and are now an official climber of the Tower."

Daniel nodded his head. This was only the beginning for him. He had bigger goals than passing the opening tutorial.

The Tower voice continued, "Throughout your adventure in the tutorial, your actions were monitored. You will be rewarded additional points for accomplishing certain feats. Your results will be shown now."

{Tutorial Tower Results}

{Survive for 24hrs- 100 points

Break Through Human Life Limits- 100 points

Kill 45 Mortal Beasts- 2 per beast- 90 points

Find Black Pearl Awakening Flower- 50 points

Kill Awakened Level Life form- 100 points

Find Corpse of Level 4 Creature- 4,000 points

Total Grade of Tutorial- S- Additional points rewarded- 1000 points

Total Points Earned- 5,440}

Daniel assumed the score was pretty good considering the bonuses received. S grade sounds like a pretty high score as well.

The Tower's voice was heard in the room once again, "The Tutorial is now over. You will be able to attempt the first floor in one months time. The Tower Store is now open for you to browse the selection of items. You are rewarded with three free questions that the Tower can answer, because of the S grade score."

Daniel was happy that he had the opportunity to ask questions. First, he want to check out the store to see if he could figure out his problems himself. He brought up his Tower Status. It now showed a store icon, so he selected it.

The store was broken into many categories such as, 'Information, Cheats, Weapons, Bloodlines, Skills, Miscellaneous' Each was calling for Daniel to click on them but he decided to choose Information. It would be unfortunate to spend his points in an ignorant fashion.

Daniel scanned the purchase options. There were a lot of interesting tidbits if information for sale, but one book stood out to him, 'A Beginners Guide to Surviving, Gaining Power, and Understanding the Universe'- 5 Points. This was a no brainer purchase for him so he bought the book. A rush of information exploded into his mind. The first thing he comprehended of the book was, "Any book or piece of information bought in the Tower is directly downloaded into your mind. So always prepare yourself beforehand."

Daniel could only shake his head in amusement at this authors sick sense of humor.
