Brennus appeared at the door, and the three vampires turned to investigate the screams.
“We better get down there quickly,” Arras said hastily.
“Arras?” Rhea slowly sat up. She reached for her shoulder but Arras dashed over and stopped her hand.
All heads turned to the fireplace as Rhea slowly got to her feet.
“Easy Rhea,” Arras said calmly.
The screams stopped. The manor was silent. Slowly Hoffman’s crew stood up.
Elisa went to her friend’s side, desperately checking the wound. She stared at Rhea’s face.
“How is this possible?” Elisa whispered. “The wound is healed!”
“What?” Andrew said.
As Rhea’s friends crowded around, Arras backed up. Rhea reached out and gently took Arras’ hand.
Hoffman shook his head in disbelief, “Can someone explain what is going on here? Rhea should have died, look at all this blood! How is she still standing here?”
Aedan returned to the room, while Brennus stood like a guard in the doorway. They still had to investigate the screams.
