Chapter 63: Massacre
Hearing Li Hao's words, the demons were momentarily stunned before bursting into laughter.
Although they sensed something unusual about Li Hao, given his age, no matter how exceptional he was, how powerful could he be?
Here were over twenty transformed demons. In the demon world, only those in the Spirit Wandering Realm could transform, and those in the Fifteen Mile Realm could fully conceal their true forms.
"Kid, have you lost your mind out of fear? Even Yue Shuhong wouldn't dare disrespect us if he were here!" laughed the seductive snake demoness.
"So, who is the Tiger-Robed Immortal?" Li Hao asked again.
The snake demoness, annoyed at being ignored, flicked her tongue and started slithering forward.
"What do you want with the Tiger-Robed Immortal?" the bear demon suddenly asked calmly.
"It's nothing much," Li Hao said, flicking his sword. "Just borrowing its head to honor my uncle's spirit."
The bear demon felt its caution was unnecessary and, thinking Li Hao was there to deliver a message, lost interest. "Eat him," it said lightly to the other demons.
The snake demoness was the first to move, swiftly approaching Li Hao with a charming smile, her voice seductive. "Come, come into my mouth," she said as her face grotesquely transformed into a gaping maw.
Her seductive technique could affect even those in the Soul Merging Realm, causing them to lose their minds and willingly crawl into her mouth.
But in that moment, a dark light flashed.
Half of her gaping maw was cleanly severed and fell backward, blood spurting everywhere.
The other demons froze in shock. The dwarf-like old man, who had been hopping towards Li Hao, stopped dead in his tracks, staring at the boy in disbelief.
The demon-slaying sword in Li Hao's hand had disappeared.
The black blade hovered in the air for a moment before slicing through the air in a dark arc.
In an instant, several more demon heads were severed, their reactions too slow to comprehend what had happened!
The change was too sudden, beyond their imagination.
"Since none of you will talk, I'll have to slaughter you all to make an offering," Li Hao murmured.
As he spoke, the black sword in the air flew out again.
"Fifteen Mile Realm!"
"What kind of monster is he?!"
The demons, now fully awake to the danger, fled in all directions, trying to escape the demon-slaying sword. But their speed was no match for the sword.
Controlling an object at forty miles was not merely 2.5 times greater than at fifteen miles; it was a complete dominance in power and speed.
It was like comparing someone who could throw a stone twenty meters to someone who could throw it a hundred meters—the difference in arm strength was clear.
And these demons hadn't even reached the Fifteen Mile Realm; they couldn't move as swiftly. Some even chose to abandon their bodies, sacrificing their souls to escape, hoping to possess new bodies later.
The bear demon, now standing, looked at Li Hao with a changed expression, its massive body towering like a small building. It tried to discern the boy's true nature.
Fifteen Mile Realm? How old is this boy?! It couldn't let Li Hao continue his slaughter. With a sudden move, it spewed black flames that formed into a dragon, roaring towards Li Hao.
Li Hao glanced up, noticing this bear demon's strongest aura. Yet, compared to the Spirit Wandering Realm, it was no match.
With a swift motion, his soul power enveloped the sword, slicing through the fire dragon and striking the bear demon's head.
However, the bear's skull was incredibly tough, stopping the blade just half a foot in.
Li Hao stepped forward, appearing in front of the stunned bear demon, and with a powerful punch, struck its head.
The force of a million pounds concentrated in his fist, amplified by his soul power, sent the bear demon crashing into the rock behind it, smashing through and flying ten meters back, slamming into its cave wall.
Blood sprayed from its throat, and the bear demon was terrified. Born with immense strength, it called itself the Mighty True God.
Yet, the boy's strength was terrifying.
How could such a small body contain such monstrous power?! Li Hao glanced at the bear demon, then turned his attention back to the other fleeing demons. His demon-slaying sword flew out, chasing down the escaping souls.
A simple sword couldn't harm these souls, but imbued with Li Hao's soul power, it could split their souls apart.
Screams echoed as the sword found its targets, many falling silent without a sound.
In an instant, the terrifying hill, once occupied by over twenty demons, was reduced to the bear demon alone.
The other demons were either severed or collapsed lifelessly, their souls dissipated miles away.
A gentle breeze swept through the forest, carrying the heavy scent of blood to the bear demon's nostrils, making it feel nauseous.
For the first time, the bear demon felt the stench of the hill it occupied, making its stomach churn with the urge to vomit.
Fear so intense it wanted to vomit.
"Are you a celestial master?!"
The bear demon couldn't hide the fear in its eyes as it looked at the approaching boy. Just one punch had shown it that, even in the Fifteen Mile Realm, it was no match.
The gap was unimaginably vast.
It now suspected the boy was an ancient master who had rejuvenated himself.
"Among the demons I've just slain, was the Tiger-Robed Immortal?"
Li Hao stopped in front of the bear demon, looking up at the enormous creature still seated on the ground.
The bear demon now knew it was the Tiger-Robed Immortal that had provoked this terrifying boy. The boy was here for revenge.
"The Tiger-Robed Immortal..."
Hating the Tiger-Robed Immortal, the bear demon quickly thought and said through gritted teeth, "The Tiger-Robed Immortal isn't here. He's in the north."
"The north?"
Li Hao raised an eyebrow, looking skeptically at the bear demon. "There are many more demons outside. You better not lie."
The bear demon's face changed, quickly saying, "I'm not lying. Although the Tiger-Robed Immortal belongs to our Black Wind Mountain, he's smart and capable, so we sent him north."
"Sent north for what?"
"We're planning to join forces with the north to attack Cangyu City. He went to assist," the bear demon said, hiding the identity of the Red-Browed Daoist.
More demons in the north? Li Hao was stunned. The Demon-Slaying Bureau's intelligence had no records of the north being turbulent. It had always been peaceful.
"How many demons in the north?" Li Hao asked immediately.
"About the same as here."
"Why are you attacking Cangyu City? Do you know the consequences of invading Dayu?" Li Hao shouted.
The bear demon sighed internally. Why do you demon slayers hunt demons? Isn't it all about picking easy targets? Who knew Cangyu City had a monster like you?
Of course, it couldn't say this aloud. Instead, it showed a helpless look and said, "Although we're demons, we're just trying to fill our bellies, like you humans eating livestock..."
Li Hao's eyes turned cold.
Talking about eating stirred his killing intent.
"Just to eat?" Li Hao suppressed his rage, glaring at the bear demon, trying to extract more information.
Sensing Li Hao's killing intent, the bear demon trembled, trying to reason like a human scholar when in a weak position:
"All creatures strive to survive. We're the same as you humans. Isn't this understandable?"
"I'm not here to debate right and wrong. Just tell me, is attacking Cangyu City just for food?" Li Hao asked, suppressing his fury.
The Red-Browed Daoist was leading the attack. Although the bear demon had heard of other reasons, it couldn't tell Li Hao, otherwise, how could it continue reasoning? "If not for survival, we wouldn't take such risks."
At this moment, the bear demon seemed like a scholar, continuing to discuss philosophy with Li Hao: "Heaven and earth nurture all beings, and all beings have the right to live. Isn't that true?"
Li Hao took a deep breath and asked again, "What does the Tiger-Robed Immortal look like? Is he a tiger demon?"
The bear demon was momentarily stunned, realizing its reasoning was not getting through to Li Hao, making it feel panicked. "Yes, he's a tiger demon, nearly a thousand years into his cultivation."
"Good."
Li Hao nodded slightly, having obtained the information he wanted.
Before the bear demon could react, Li Hao leaped up, his fist smashing down on the demon's brow. The force destroyed its brain.
The bear demon opened its mouth slightly, stunned and disbelieving. Its eyes dimmed, and it collapsed like a giant stone, falling to the ground.
Debate right and wrong with demons? Li Hao had no interest in that.
Besides, his stance was more important than right and wrong!
Facing the countless human bones around, how could he ever tell the bear demon: You're right, you're not wrong.
Who cares if you're wrong or not? I'm human!!
