Chapter 5 : New Acquaintances In a New School

The girl named Izara, sat down next to Yushida in her seat. Since Yushida is grinning, might they possibly know one another?

Kazumi and another student of mine from my previous school, who is pretty athletic and tall but, from what i recall, was a chill person, are seated behind them. What's his name again? Thinking about it right now is futile. My current best course of action is to take in my surroundings. It's not nice that I'm seated behind of two girls. A gang of boys were openly slandering others not far from me. Not the best first impression for them, i don't think they'll get far.

"Hey, this is the regulations paper. Here" The girl who was in front of me handed me the piece of paper with several paragraphs on it.

I'll read them later. Behaving correctly will be enough for now, I'll check on them with Kiyone and Kyouko at recess.

A bald adult with sunglasses sticked to his forehead entered the classroom holding their bag or whatever that is in his hand, Probably a teacher.

"Hello everyone, I'll be your math teacher. Pleasure to be meeting you." Unfortunately for the teacher he was failing to gather our attention. What a loud classroom, even more we're in class B,it's supposed to be a hardworking classroom, no? I'm starting to pity class C students.

The teacher went through several guidelines and provided us with various exam and working-style recommendations.

"Only the absolute best students are chosen for this school. You must have potential because you are here, which you can develop through time. As stated in the quote, "talent beats hard work." Let's work together to make sure that everyone can succeed in school and has a good future!"

That's a great way to say 'if you fail the selective and mock exams, you'll get expelled' indirectly. Good job, mister bald teacher. Though If they kept a foolish student in the school, it wouldn't make sense, in my opinion. Physical limitations might be overlooked, but academically speaking overall? Excluding students because of it is only natural.

𝗔 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴

I suppose I'm allowed to leave the classroom now, right? Meh, either ways I'm leaving.

And so i did. In order to avoid speaking to anyone, I got up and left the classroom right away. I waited on a bench close to both of our classes since my class was next to Kiyone's.

Now that i think of it, This school's outside and internal architecture are both incredibly sophisticated, in my opinion. I done some research before enrolling here. There are two principals at this school, one male and one female. Even if their connection is uncertain, as far as I'm concerned, their relationship is merely nothing but a collaboration.

This opulent of a school. I'd probably assume that the government had supported this school's initiative if I hadn't done my study in beforehand-

"Why are you here all by yourself?"

Mawasaki approached me. I think she just separated from her friends?

"Waiting for Kiyone, she's still in her classroom"

"Don't you think it would take less time if you went there and told her to come outside or something like that?" She took a seat next to me, this will probably start an argument about how i suck at interacting with people.

"Do you remember your reaction when i told you that kiyone is my sister?" I better end this soon.

"What does that have to do with anything? Well, if anything i guess it was shock?" Mawasaki said with a puzzled expression, that definitely confused her.

"And why were you shocked?"

"Well, you two look quite different in terms of personality and looks, I guess.."

"Exactly my point. Kiyone and I are siblings, yes. However, neither our appearances nor our shared interests are really alike. If the students find out that I'm Kiyone's brother, they'll definitely raise quite a commotion. I'm confident that they'll find out eventually. But if I can enjoy tranquility for even a day or two, I'll definitely take it."

Mawasaki sighed, seems like she was somewhat persuaded by what i said. I mean, I technically did not lie. I don't want to be in the spotlight over something so silly as talking to my own sister. If i can get a few quiet days before I start getting bombarded with questions regarding Kiyone, then I gladly will.

𝗞𝗶𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲'𝘀 𝗣𝗢𝗩 :

This is very annoying. I want to go. Kyouka is probably waiting for me, as far as I'm concerned. However, these people...

"Hey kiyone-san, what's your favorite food?"

Shut up please! "i prefer burgers and pizza" But I can't just ignore them and not respond.

"Yea, and what's your favorite color?"

Shut up! "i like purple and red" I absolutely must pretend to smile.

"What's your type in boys, kiyone-san?"

Mind your business! "Although I don't usually feel romantically attracted to anyone, I believe I would love anyone who treats me well." I'd love anyone if they gave me personal space, so please get out of my sight!

A few boys were getting hyped at the back seats after they heard my statement. Assholes, neither of you have a chance.

I can leave at this time, but they'll follow me and, if they see me with Kyouka, they'll undoubtedly raise a fuss. Frick, what have i gotten myself into. I can't tell them that Kyouka is my brother since I'm aware of his constant attempts to divert attention. It would be a blatant betrayal to tell everyone that. I need to come up with something.

Found it!

"Hey, can someone call Ume-san and some of her friends except for Morine-san?" I'm fortunate that kyouka told me about Ume-san as we were making our way to class. despite the fact that this may seem cruel to Morine-san, they would perhaps probably ignore it. My only wish is that Mawasaki approaches Kyouka after her friends split up with her. That's the only way I can get out of this—if I chat to Kyouka while Morine-san is there, maybe it would seem normal?

𝗦𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿

"Hey you're Kiyone-san right? Some students told us you called us here, is there something wrong?" Ume doesn't seem at all like how Kyouka described her. Perhaps Kyouka ruffled her feathers. For a while, I have to hold them all. She was accompanied by two of her friends.

"I'm Kiyone Itsumi, i hope we can be good friends all of you" i bowed to all of them trying my best to look as friendly as possible.

Ume chuckled a little. "You didn't have to call me out here for that. But yeah sure, let's be friends" Although they didn't give me their names, her other two friends and I decided to be friends as well. I don't even know Ume's full name, now that I think about it. Ume is nice and all, but I'm not even sure why I did all of this to protect Kyouka when eventually the truth would come out whether he likes it or not.

Ume and her friends left the classroom a little while later. This is my chance! As soon as I had the opportunity to, I swiftly exited the classroom...

𝗞𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗸𝗮'𝘀 𝗣𝗢𝗩 :

We both stopped talking because neither of us had anything specific to say. The silence is awkward. Should I make an attempt to speak?

Perhaps silence is better-

"Morine-san and kyouka!"

Kiyone appeared in front of both of us, with that wide smile of hers.

"Did your new classmates cling to you?"

She laughed it off, but i know it's true.

"Well, i wouldn't be surprised. In fact, I'd be more surprised if kiyone wasn't popular. I mean she was always beautiful and smart and her kindness too" seems like Mawasaki admires kiyone so much.

"Anyway, Kyouka did you read the guidelines?"

"No i was waiting for you."

"Why?" What's this question?..

"Why not?"

Kiyone let out a somewhat loud sigh. She probably got weary of hearing the same thing from me every time she asks "why?"

I don't know why but i feel glares in my back, someone's definitely glaring at me. That person can only be..

I turn around to see a not far away Ume, glaring at me. Because of Mawasaki? Kiyone? Or neither of them? Did i do something that offended her? i didn't even do anything..

"Mawasaki, what should a normal human being do when Ume is glaring at him?" I'm not sure whether Mawasaki would take my question seriously or not, But i really hope she does.

She laughed a little "I'd advise you firstly to use her name and not her nickname. Only her friends use that."

So Ume isn't her name. Okay, how could i possibly have known that? "I see, so what's her real name then?"

Kiyone spoke after a little bit of silence "I'm pretty sure her name is Umewa but i don't know about her last name"

Mawasaki continues "her full name is Umewa Tada, try avoiding saying her nickname unless you befriend her."

"I can't even imagine myself speaking to her and you're saying befriending her? I'll leave something like that to fate" 𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘩 .

Mawasaki and Kazumi are two acquaintances I currently have. I could need another two or perhaps three. I might try to strike up a conversation with the tall guy and find a way to reconnect with my old friends.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴

This indicates the break has finished, so I suppose it's time to part ways. The time was far too short for us to even read the rules together, let alone visit the cafeteria. "We'll see you later, kiyone" i have to get back to the classroom and take my place, i don't want to break any rules and want my seat in the very back.

"Yeah, see you both. And Morine-san, let's get together occasionally. I'd like to renew our previous friendship. For over two years, we didn't see each other." Seems like these two have quite a story.

Kiyone went to the bathroom, so Mawasaki and I went our separate ways. However, I sense a presence behind us.

"Oh, it's Morine-san and Kyouka-kun! I didn't expect to see you two here" Behind us were two girls. They both have a similar appearance. The tallest waved at us while the shorter one spoke.

"Yooo, what's up you two? been a while" the tallest's personality, i definitely spoke to someone with that same personality before.

Wait these two.. I believe I know from my previous school.

Might they perhaps be The Hitori Twins?
