CHAPTER 1

THE NIGHTMARE

"Mr Aldric Walter the owner of an orphanage was a very proudy man , the cruelty and rudeness to the children was in his behaviour "

Hey you !! What are you doing there yelled Walter …. Come here , put that chicken back , lunchtime is over , don't you know !! Now go on and clean the floor. He always gives very limited food to children.

Clara !! he yelled…. you go and wash the clothes . She was a thirteen year old girl , had very silky black shoulder-length hair and an apparently dark complexion.

Mr Walter was himself a 70 year old man , still he was never kind to children. His back was bent and had long grey hair which was completely tangled but he only had hair on half of his head and half of his head was bald which was very smooth and shiny. He was never married and he hated children.

He found all seven children in the dustbins or on the roads when they were hardly one month old . So that he could spend all his time scolding them.

No one brought orphans to his orphanage because everyone was aware of his rude behavior.

Anyway, few people knew this orphanage because it was built high on the mountains and there were barely four houses built next to it . They were also far away, some eight feet away and some ten feet away . The orphanage was so high that clouds could easily be seen, as if one could touch a cloud. There were always cool breezes and the atmosphere was always cool.

People had to travel long distances to get food . And whenever Walter went to get food, he would return in two days .

That time is the best of life for children . They always wanted to have that freedom forever . This mountain range was spread over fifteen thousand kilometers.

There were also the world's oldest volcanoes , which for thousands of years would have been dried up by fire and now existed only in the form of mountains.

It was 28th of October , Halloween was near, he wanted the whole orphanage to be very clean and bright .

Every year there was a grand party which was held overnight in the park right in front of that orphanage . It took at least an hour or two to get down and reach the park . All the seven children of the orphanage used to participate in the party without letting Walter know . But this year Violet , fourteen , the oldest and tallest among all , had prominent freckles on her face and brown bob hair which was a little wavy , and was planning a mysterious plan of camping on Halloween.

At around twelve AM in their room , with lights closed , Violet starts muttering , look when Walter is asleep we'll sneak out of the orphanage , he doesn't even care about us anyway . No way, don't even think , replied Autumn . Autumn was eleven years old , but she was the most timid and most frightened of all , her hair was very straight and blonde with front bangs . C'mon please it will be fun said Clara , yes please , request Parker the ten year old boy . If you guys wanted to go you may go I'm not coming , said Autumn , you serious , we'll go together not sending you alone said Brooklyn , nine year old , whose hair was curly and fair skin with a very slim body . Look at me , I am the youngest here and I am much younger than you, but I am ready to go, so why are you scared? Said Wan, who was an eight year old girl but was very brave and smart . Leo , who was also nine , was lost in his thoughts.

What are you thinking about? asked Violet , he was still standing, thinking, as if he hadn't heard anything , hello I'm asking you Leo are you here ? said Violet again. He was still very quiet and thinking .

Leeeee Ooooooooo ...… they all shouted together , wha …. What happened , he replied in shock suddenly , how long we have been calling you …. What happened to you, what are you thinking , said Brooklyn.

I was thinking about Walter , if we all go together, won't he think about where we went? And of course we come here in the end and then what will we answer ... that hello Walter how're you ? we have been camping for the past few days , we know you aren't angry , right , he said sarcastically . Parker sighs and says , don't worry , he'll probably be thankful and everyone here knows how he is with us , yess Clara interrupted him , and everyone out there might think that we ran away because of his cruelty . So don't we have to come back? asked Autumn .

Of course not , she replied with a raised eyebrow. But then where will we live? asked Leo , don't worry, we are the ones to think about it , said Wan .

Are you guys going crazy? At least we get food here , can we get food on time where we live , said Autumn in anger .

Food that we barely get one time a day , I just don't want to live this life of slavery anymore , this is enough , said Violet .

Look , I'm very confident I don't want to live with him any more. He is just Ahhh...said Clara , yes you're totally right no one even cares about street child wafe , they are too busy in their tough lives , said Brooklyn.

Everyone was ready to go except Leo and Autumn. They were very scared . Halloween is upon us , I'm too scared , ca..can we plan this after Halloween or on Christmas , please . We are planning this because of Halloween, Violet said , yes... said Wan . Okay now discussion is over we're going camping it's final , said Parker . So, you..mm..mean we are escaping , asked Autumn . Yes , Yes , Yes , we are ….. ok now it's almost one AM. Let's go to sleep or Walter will kill us, said Clara . So when are we leaving ?? Tomorrow said , Violet . Everyone sighs ….

Bb..buttt…Ok discussion is over its bedtime Goodnight sweet dreams , Leo tried to say something but Violet didn't let her speak and everyone went to

bed.

The next morning , Autumn was alone walking on the silent piece of land . The land was so large and silent that it seemed no less than a continent . But that land was completely empty . It was looking so weird that she wondered if she was really on Earth or if it was something like a magical world because figuring this out was very difficult . Where's the sky , where's the land , where are the walls because of so many mesmerizing colours . It seemed as if all the colors of the world were in one place . But she was wondering what kind of place it is, how beautiful it is and why no one lives here and how I got here , am I in the milky way or it's galaxy ? Why is that so beautiful? It was looking like someone had trapped the colors here , as if the colors had been prisoned by someone . There was not any visible sky , no mountains , not any trees , only a silent piece of land . But she could still feel the cold wind. She looked around but there was no one, she was surprised and she wondered how I got here , then she realized that she was alone there and she started yelling Helloooo...…helloooo….Is anyone there…...Hellooooo.. Her voice wasn't vibrating which clears it's not any room . As she walked she Saw a Camp built in the distance which was more colorful than the land . She starts to walk towards camp . She thought that maybe her friends were giving her a surprise because they all wanted to celebrate Halloween so they chose a scary place . With that in mind , she headed to the camp .

It had been a long time walking and she was very close to the camp , after a minute she was just ten steps away from the camp . Then she looked up and down to the camp in amazement . And it came out of her mind spontaneously ,

Woww.... What a lovely camp !!

Camping here will be a lot of fun .

I was an idiot who refused to go camping but thankfully I agreed . Wowww I can't believe it .

Saying this , she shook her hair and entered the camp laughing . The camp was so big and beautiful . Hundreds of people could easily come inside it . And it was as colorful as the spring atmosphere . It was looking as if every color of the world had come into it . Again she thought of her friends .

Where are they , are they surprising me? She then starts calling Violet..., Claraaa , Brooklyn... Leoooo , where are you Waaan…... Parker…. Hellooo.. Why you guys aren't responding , then suddenly a croaking voice drew it's attention to itself. She turned behind it was a very big round table , and a board game placed on the table , there were seven chairs on the table , she started walking towards the table .

She saw the board game. It was a twelve by twelve inch square board game . The numbers were written in square boxes on all four sides six boxes were in each line and under each box dares were written , the name of the game

" cunolk eth sapt " written in the middle . She read the name of the game aloud and said strangely, "What a strange name!" Maybe the name is in another language and next to it a rolled piece of paper something was written. She picked up the piece of paper and RULES written on the top and below were the rules .

Rule no. 1 :- You can only get out of here if you finish this game .

Rule no. 2 :- The dice will disappear on their own and they won't come back until you complete the dare .

Rule no. 3 :- Everyone's turn will be according to the first letter of their name from the sequence of ABC.

Rule no. 4 :- You can die in the game and never go back to life.

Rule no. 5 :- There will be another turn on the double four.

Rule no 6 :- You can't quit the game . If you quit , it will be a defeat for everyone, that is, everyone will be killed.

Rule no. 7 :- No wound healing ointment can be used until the game is finished .

Rule no. 8 :- You have to finish this game very cleverly , It is not necessary to die if you are dying .

Rule no. 9 :- The rules of each dare will be explained along with it.

Once the game is over you will be free.

Then she started reading the dares , on the first of four slots , she started reading the numbers which wasn't in any sequence , numbers were;

START :-

3110: It is empty , start here .

4444: The next individual will have to close their eyes and throw dice.

1543: I will catch you if you won't run .

111: Get out of this jungle .

811: Cut your toes.

1011: Tease me and save yourself.

On the second slot , the numbers were ;

1211: Musical statues.

1611: Just eliminate it in any way , you will get the dice.

1911: Get out of this darkroom (You'll be out of here when you get double four ).

2311: Flashlight tag.

2411:Play hide and seek here , find me for the next turn.

2611: I know you have not seen me before.

But yeah , you have listened , about me for sure.

I'm famous for eating your top.

Yes , Yes ! That's why I'm coming now of course.

On the third slot , the numbers were ;

2911:Find the way out of this jail.

3011: Return the trust to its owner.

212: Solve the maze.

612: Find the other six crowns , go to the next turn after finding two.

912: Find the pearl in the sea.

1312: Cut off your hands and give me a cup full of blood.

And on the fourth and last slot , the numbers were ;

1512 : Welcome to the upside down world.

1612: Let your head be wounded or die.

1912: Break the curse.

2112: Put the pearl on the crown.

2312: You made it to the end. You all have escaped.

2512: Musical Chairs.

She read all the dares and said spontaneously , what kind of dare is this ? I don't want to play this game , why should I end this game when I'm not here on my own? She turn around and started running the suddenly a girl apparently 3ft 5 inch tall with her two front teeth broken dressed all black from top to bottom putting on strange black eyeliner , blocked her way , yelling " Stop here , you can't go without finishing this game "

Autumn put her hand over her ear and started screaming , nooo....I don't want to play. Nooooo...….noo

She was bedridden and restless screaming nooo…please...noooo…

She was still screaming with her hands over her ears. Suddenly she felt silence , she removed her hand and saw that she was in her room .

But her screams woke up all six of her roommates , they all asked her what happened and frightened , she began to tell her dream . Then , she said no , we shouldn't go camping , we shouldn't ( in a very loud voice ) Violet said whispering , "speak slowly otherwise Walter would get up" , but Autumn was scared . She was still arguing , then to contempt her everybody started saying now we'll go camping , yes we will , yes we will , we will . Clara was making strange voices , whooooooo....whooooooo....hooooo!!

Their louder voices woke Walter up . He was coming in a very angry manner and said, "You dirty children ." You have forbidden my life . What's the matter with you guys? You ruined my sleep .

Everyone was listening to him , but before he reached their room , knowing that they would all be trapped and he will be very angry on them , they all fell on top of each other with eyes closed knowing , Autumn was at the bottom , on her Wan , Brooklyn was on Wan , on her Leo , Parker was on Leo , on Parker Clara and the top Violet , they were all very scared . But before he got angry with them, they all just felt quiet . They were all amazed at where Walter gone

, all started whispering , why isn't he speaking anything , is he secretly watching us? Wan , no I don't think so , replied Brooklyn , Leo in amazement said , why is there a lot of silence ? not even the sound of the ceiling fan , yes you're right, replied Violet and said get up , hurry up , get up .

Everyone got up, then there was a bright light on everyone's face , not even everyone was able to open their eyes, while everyone slowly opened their eyes.

Everyone looked around . Everyone was surprised to see so many colors , except Autumn she recognized the place it was the same that was in her dream .
