Chapter 9

(Ruby)

When the taxi stops in front of the garage, Ruby pays and exits followed closely by Stacy. Their pointed-heeled shoe gracefully tread the concrete and with a feline gait cross the few steps that separate them from the door, and their eyes fixed on the lighting that animates the garage. But Ruby ends up turning slightly to her friend and notices with surprise the expression displayed on her face.

-What do you have?

Her frown is accentuated when Stacy jumps slightly, stammering words that the young redhead must have misunderstood. But her behavior is quickly swept away by a mastery in itself that she addresses on each situation that escapes her, as always.

-Nothing... I think these are the effects of alcohol.
